I love this movie and how it portrays the modern day soldier and their trials and tribulations both in and out of the military. Kind of like how the hurt locker did.

A wonderful cast, a world renowned director, yet this isn't the best war movie ever made, but it wasn't really supposed to be. I love war film depictions and portrayals, and if you're looking for an all out war blood film, this isn't it. It's more about the group itself juggling the battles and pressures of the Gulf war, so that is a really cool concept. There's coping, struggling, and dialogue, and no war movies really show that side of it. And no better than Sam Mendes (American Beauty) to do that. Other recommendations: The Kingdom, Three Kings, Brothers.

Great, original concept for a war movie. You must love war movies though, or you will likely be turned off by the sometimes gratuitous violence. I enjoyed it!

I owned this movie on dvd and I purchased it on Blu-ray. Must say still impressed. Great buy!

Usually, I watch these movies at home in 3 or 4 sittings. But this one was so attention-grabbing that I saw it through to the end. It is very good!
