Another installment in the Jason Bourne saga. This time Robert Dewey the CIA chef is preparing a plan with tech tycoon, Aaron Kalloor. A project that would allow the government free rein to spy on its citizens. Looking to protect his plan, Dewey’s interests are run by his subordinate, Heather Lee who is trying to make her mark in the agency. Emerging from the dark shadows is Jason Bourne, now a shell of a man, learning about his father’s participation in the Operation, "Treadstone", which complicates his memories of and reason for joining the service. Evading capture while pursued by a rival assassin. Bourne has plans to reach Dewey, but has trouble managing a public appearance. With government forces in hot pursuit of him around the globe, Bourne tries to remain incognito as he embarks on the fight of his life, once again hungry for closure. Tense drama and a twisting plot fill the movie with non stop action.

    The Latest Bourne

I am a Ludlum fan and enjoyed all of the previous Bourne movies (and the books). I missed it in the theaters and wanted to see it in 4K. The plot is exciting and the action is non-stop. I have the other Bourne movies in Blu-Ray and wanted to see this in 4K. It is a dark movie - how it is filmed is dark. Seems like many of the scenes are deliberatley dimly lit for effect, and while it may add suspense, it was harder to watch and follow the action. I am glad I bought this one, but it is not may favorite Bourne and even with an OLED TV the dark backgrounds were annoying after a while and I probably will not watch it over and over as I have other Bourne movies.

OK, it's not the best of the Bourne films, I agree with that. But after reading the reviews, I was prepared for a big letdown, and that did not happen. I had seen it once before I decided to buy it, and I went for package that includes the 4K disc so I'll be ready to watch it in 4K when I get around to upgrading my TV. I was just glad to see Matt Damon back as Jason Bourne, and the movie has all the typical Bourne trademarks (jumps right into the action, high-speed chases, crowd scenes, explosions, etc.). The image quality is very good, a bit jumpy by design, and the audio is excellent with a good amount of surround activity.

Quality title for the movie collection

i play UHD movies on the XBox One S I bought at Best Buy and the LG OLED UHD TV I bought there. It's a great combo. Instead of buying regular DVDs or Blu Ray anymore, UHD is the way to go. UHD/HDR Blu Ray is the ultimate viewing experience using the latest tech (like I mentioned earlier). It's 8x-10x superior quality to what you can stream from Netflix or Amazon. Until super fast internet is available everywhere, UHD DVD is going to be the distribution media of choice for the best quality possible. The alternative is to download the movie to hard drive overnight and then watch it, as maybe a few streaming services provide. If Bourne movies are your thing, this is a fine movie to add to your collection.

At last. Oh how I've missed Matt Damon as Jason Bourne, especially after the Bourne Legacy with Jeremy Renner (which was good, but not the same). This movie was basically a roller coaster ride, as all Bourne movies should be. It's exciting and dramatic, and yes, Bourne does satisfyingly beat up [bad-guy] with a found object, as he is wont to do. If you are just as intrigued by the Bourne story as I am, then this movie is for you. [Note: during some action shots, the camera can be a bit all-over the place and hard to focus on, especially if you have a big TV, but I didn't feel it was as bad as past movies].

Four stars for the fact Matt Damon reprising his role as Jason Bourne. More action than in the other three Bourne films where he held the starring role. Certainly less time devoted to the story than the others. Matt Damon certainly has bulked up and buffed out in this film. The auto action sequences are over the top and lack credibility continuing the trend seen in the "Supremacy" and "Ultimatum" films. The film is good and if you enjoyed any of the first three you will appreciate this film. This particular presentation is top notch and you will enjoy every pixel in this 4K presentation.

Great Next Step In The Franchise

Love the Bourne films. Can't get enough and can't wait for more. This film got a number of not so good reviews from other web sites, but I think they missed the purpose of this one. If you check out the special feature docs on the Blu-Ray you'll see the how and why it was made this way and a tiny hint of what may be ahead. And of course the ending of the film leaves it wide open for more. You have to remember that Jason was not the only one who went thru the Treadstone program and it wasn't the only program in the governments arsenal. If you love the Bourne films - don't miss this one.

I was really looking forward to this movie. Lots of action, lots of intrigue, and this movies ties up a lot of the loose ends from the earlier movies. The flashback scenes are nicely done and the movie has a modern feel to it. When the first movie was made computers and surveillance was a small part of the action. Now it is much more prevalent. New folks unfamiliar with The Bourne franchise will like the movie, while original fans will love the original look and feel. If there is anything negative about the film, it is that the basic theme has not really changed from the original.

Good but NOT the best Bourne

As far as action movies go, I'm as big a fan as there is, of the good ones of course and the Bourne movies have set a standard in that genre. That said, this latest entry, Jason Bourne, unfortunately fails to live up to the standards set by the previous films. It's not the story, the directing and certainly NOT the action that hurts this one, as it has some of the best sequences of the entire series. What drags this one down below expectations is the acting. Matt Damon is great as usual but Tommy Lee Jones? Well just watch any movie he's in & you've got his entire filmography captured. Same monotone delivery, among other things, he does in EVERY movie. They certainly DIDN'T need him in this movie to attract movie goers to see this. But the BIGGEST LETDOWN was casting Alicia Vikander!!! OMG she was absolutely HORRIBLE, just ruined it. Bland delivery of lines, no emotion whatsoever, she looks lost, uninterested, plays poorly to the camera, etc. Idk why Joan Allen wasn't allowed to reprise her role as Pamela Landy? She was excellent. The best thing I can say about Vikander is...I HOPE she's not in the next Bourne movie! Had she not ruined this one for Bourne fans I believe this would've been one of this year's biggest blockbusters & Damon & company would already be talking about the next film in the franchise. Instead, we may not EVER get another Bourne movie and that'd be a BIG loss for us fans! If you're looking to complete your Bourne collection then I'd say YES to purchasing this DVD. If you're just curious about the franchise then DEFINITELY DON'T buy this one! All of the previous Bournes are way better than this one that Vikander drubbed.

I have been a fan of Bourne since the beginning. When the Bourne Legacy came out and I found out Matt Damon was not going to be in it I was highly disappointed. I am a huge fan of Jeremy Rennor but he is not Bourne. While the Bourne films seemed to have concluded with the third installment but it seems they were not done. While the films seem to have the same premise it is still an amazing series of films, they are an action packed spy film no more no less. I appreciate that they leave some of the tech elements out that you can find in the James Bond series.

I enjoyed the movie, but it felt more like it was designed to answer the question, "What would Matt Damon in a Bourne movie look like today?" Well, it looked like an older Matt Damon hitting his marks, saying his lines, once again getting into maximum fighting shape, and battling yet another corrupted spy agency boss. The trilogy was compelling...this one was just... popcorn entertainment. Which is exactly what I thought it might be! Enjoy the movie, and enjoy its overt message of questioning everything as the government invades your privacy! Regarding the bluray.... excellent audio, sharp & clean visual transfer, interesting extras.

How much chaos can you stand?

The first three Jason Bourne movies based on Ludlum's books followed the logical progression of both character development as well as finding the historical perspective the character has undergone to transform him from normal guy into a government weapon. What makes the Bourne movies so enticing relies more on his discovery of his past and true identity as well as his combat engagement with those who either oppose him or try to take him down, Without giving too much away in terms of the end point of the characters in the film, you have to wonder how much more, if there is a next film, the envelope can be pushed in terms of chaos and mayhem.

Am a huge Jason Borne fan. Own every Borne movie made. Saw "Jason Borne" in the theater and was less than impressed. SPOILER COMING-when they killed off Nicki in the first 30 minutes, I knew it was down a slippery slope from there. Had previously planned to buy Jason Borne to, only, complete my collection. Then, I watched it again. Is it the best of the four containing Mat Damon, no? It's probably the third or fourth best. The 59 Rotten Tomato rating was the worst of all four. But, watching it a second time made it a better film and, unexpectedly, the 4k dish picture quality is above average...not optimum but better than average.
