This is my 2nd Jawbone & it surely is better than the first, more so that I read the product specifications. I knew from the rather small manual that it is splash proof and not waterproof. I have really enjoyed the sleep analysis part of the UP app.

Great Fitness Tracker - Just what I wanted

I'm new to the fitness scene and started running about a month ago. I got the Jawbone Up24 and am very happy. I can't say it's a fashion statement but it is a conversation piece as people will inquiry about what it is. This handy little bracelet talks to my smartphone via bluetooth and updates the included app. It logs my steps, activities and sleep. I can manually log my food intake into the app which is great. In turn it tells me calories burned vs calorie intake so I can be evermore mindful of what I eat. The app has a built-in coach with neat advice and tips to help me achieve my weight goal. I don't need the display on the bracelet as the app has it all there. It also links to the running app I use RunKeeper and pulls data for even more info that is helping me be healthy.

Most of my friends have Fitbits, which I had been scoping out for a while, but found this Jawbone on sale and have been pleasantly surprised with its performance. I enjoy the slim design of the Jawbone, and also the slightly "blingier" look of the Jawbones as compared to the Fitbit. The Jawbone almost looks like a piece of jewelry. The app was easy to download and I have found it to be super easy to use. The device itself tracks your stepson your sleep patterns, which I find very interesting to see each morning. The app also allows you to add foods/beverages, specific activities, weight and allows you to set goals. The only thing that I have found to be a bit glitchy about the device is that it if I go to bed after midnight it seems to miscalculate the number of hours that I have slept by an hour. Not sure what the deal is with that, but it's not something that really bothers me that much. This activity tracker does not have a heart rate monitor, which is the only other feature that I really would have liked to have, but for the price it's a really great device and keeps me motivated to get to my number of goal steps for the day!

I bought this item on sale for $30. At that price, it is great. It tracks sleep, steps, activities, calories in/out (based on the daily info you put in). Only the large size was available, which is a bit big for me, so it moves around on my wrist a lot. I wear a watch on the same wrist when I want it to not move much. My first charge lasted about 3 weeks, but that's probably cuz I'm not very active. I've had it for almost a month and so far it has held up. It's fallen off once in a game of basketball but it was fine.

I chose the Jawbone because I found their app to be the best. It goes beyond just tracking steps and includes tracking what you eat (user input required). What I found better however was that it then gives recommendations based on your steps, sleep, and food. Additionally I have actually learned things about weight loss and healthy living from the facts the app gives you.

First, I should state this is the second UP24 I've purchased. Not because my first one malfunctioned, but I wanted to make sure I did have one IF it broke. Reviews for the replacement of this product made this purchase easier as well. The unit itself is comfortable, easy to get on and off your wrist, syncs well with UP app for android, relatively accurate with steps taken, sleep, etc. I would get this product before it sells out.

    Fitness band or pedometer?

Been using this for about a month now with no issues. I wear it 24/7 and seems to hold up pretty good. Battery life is very good. Charges quickly and last for about 14 days. It does sync to the UP smartphone app automatically and I find the app pretty easy to use. It allows you to enter meals, track sleep movements, and a few user settable features. It also exchanges data with "My Fitness Pal" which has become my primary fitness app. The 2 big negatives in my opinion are 1. not waterproof.. Okay to wear in shower but not the pool. 2. No heart rate monitor. I will also add that the bands only accurate with your arms moving. If your pushing a shopping cart or riding a bike it's not going to sense the movement correctly. I tuck it into my sock if I know I'm going to be doing an activity where my hands aren't free. Although it does perform more functions than your typical pedometer, it's really only doing the same thing. Finally, should you decide this is the band for you. Try it on before you buy it.

I know the Up24 is a discontinued device but it works. It tracks steps, sleep and food really well. It also ties in and works with a ton of other fitness apps. It's very comfortable and the battery lasts about 14 days on a charge. Since I got one for my wife and i, I've had four other family members buy one. Great deal of you catch it on sale.

I got my Jawbone-UP24 for Mother's day. I have no idea the theory of the sizes and prices. They are all different. I chose Persimmon because it was $60.00 and I liked it. Regular $129.99. I quickly learned that it needs to be on your non dominate wrist. It takes a few days for it to pick up on your habits. The sleep part is really helpful and accurate. The steps are not really that accurate but it gives you an idea. I have been sick and it shows low on the steps. I programmed my medicine times during the day and it is really helpful. It has a Coach to tell you when to go to bed to meet your goals. I have asthma and do not exercise but it has a really good program for that also. I love mine and recommend highly!

    Up24 Keeps Me Moving

I decided to give a fitness band a go and after much research selected the Jawbone Up 24. I really like the app as it allows me to control the band while also tracking things like what I eat, workouts, etc. Since I spend a lot of my work day at a desk the band reminds me every time I am inactive for 15 minutes (configurable) to move. If you don't have one of these things you should give it a try.

I have enjoyed my Jawbone Up24 the past couple of weeks. It is much more accurate than other step trackers I have used. My only complaints are from the lack of display for a clock and that when I am working out it tends to slide on my arm more than I would like. I got mine on super discount so I can't really complain, but I will certainly look into the newer version when this one dies.

It is not the most attractive fitness tracker, but operationally I have no complaints. I had read some reviews saying it didn't track your steps if you didn't carry your phone with you all the time, I have not found that to be the case. Once I sync it with my phone it updates my steps. Once I figured out the sleep tracking I thought that was an interesting feature.

I purchased the UP24 to replace my dead 2-year old Jawbone UP 2. The major difference between the UP and UP24 is the wireless sync option. I didn't think it was a huge deal but it is. Now I can don't have take off my waist bend every time I want to see how many steps I took, and how many hours I slept the previous night. The data auto sync with my iPhone via BT. Jawbone also recently released a fireware update that doubles the battery life from 7 days to 14 days. I've been wearing my bend for over a week now, and I still haven't need to charge it. I know the Jawbone UP3 is coming soon, with a built-in heart rate monitor and more tracking sensors, but I got a great deal on the UP24 during the holidays so this is a keeper.

My review for this and how awesome it is will to give a review of the deficiencies of the newest rendition. I'll start by saying that I've owned every rendition of the UP bands, love UP and Jawbone (even if I did have to warranty them a few times). AND the UP App is absolutely the best app out there as well. But the new version (UP2) falls short in three areas compared to the UP24; stopwatch function, changing modes, and clasp/fit. First item is falls short on is the stopwatch function. The UP and UP24 had the button to initiate the stopwatch. Under the new UP2 you can only initiate the time via the app. And this completely negates the purpose of having a stopwatch accessible while exercising. I like to time everything in my workout (warm-up and activity while noting any breaks). With the UP24 it was super easy and I didn't need to have my phone with me. Now if I want to do this with the UP2 I need my phone. I'm not bringing my huge iPhone 6 Plus running or lifting. Jawbone will tell you that the device will learn your exercise habits and will eventual,y smarten up and intuitively track your activity. After 1 month and an average of 10 workouts per week, it has not gotten smart. I'm actually wearing an UP24 and UP2 (under different profiles) to compare the two and the UP24 is doing much better in picking up my habits. The next place it falls short is changing modes. You're supposedly to be able to double tap on the top of the band to wake it the band, then press and hold to change modes. The waking of the band is soooooooo inconsistent with force of touch and frequency of touch. Kind of annoying, especially coming from the UP24. The final place this device drops it is in the fit and clasp. This thing is always falling off. I've tried fitting it as tight as possible, loose, and in between those extremes. It's fallen off in bed a few times during normal sleep.

My goal with this product was to track how much I was moving around during the day, and how I was sleeping at night because I am disabled. I started out trying a cheaper tracker, but it wasn't telling me enough. The Jawbone UP24 gives me the details I'm looking for such as light versus sound sleep, and helps me look for patterns of waking up or poor sleep. If I forget to put it in sleep mode, it tracked me anyway. All I had to do was go back to the UP app the next day and tell it when I went to bed and got up, and it did the rest. I also wanted the Bluetooth connection versus having to connect and download it with the older UP version. Overall, I really liked what the UP24 had offer, and I got what I was looking for. Fast and secure shipping from Best Buy made it an overall positive experience.

My wife and i have been using these for about a month and a half. They work great!! We are very happy. We get to compete against each other on tracking out steps. I love the sleep tracking, it helps you keep mindful of trying to get enough sleep. also the app will give an update to let you know all your successes. If you want something that will help you to get a jump start in the new year i would its a must have.

The Jawbone UP24 is a basic fitness band. It does well counting steps and sleep, but is lacking if you have to manually enter exercise.
