Earbuds that stay put and sound good

Jaybird Vistas were highly recommended in a few fitness social media groups I’m in, so when I got the chance to get the Jaybird Vista 2s, I was excited. I’m a smaller woman, and have small ears. Most wireless earbuds fall out because they are just too big for my ear canal. I’m always skeptical, but these are staying in my ears. These come with the medium sized eargels already on them (the silicone things that make the earbud stay put) and they actually work fine for me. These come with a smaller set and a larger set also.
The case is really nice, it has a matte finish so it’s not slippery. It comes with a sporty cord with a cord lock. The magnetic closure is pretty secure, I don’t feel like the case would open without you trying to open it. The case feels really good in my hand. These charge with a USB-C cable, a 12” cable is in the box. It also charges wirelessly.
I had no trouble pairing these to my iPhone but had a heck of a time doing so with my iPad Pro. I called Jaybird’s customer service at 866/ 244-3399, to help me out. Not more than a minute after starting to talk to a representative, did my iPad decide to let me connect these. If that’s all it needed, then so be it. I downloaded the app to my iPhone, it has a ton of capabilities, including a Find My Buds feature which works with iPhone Maps. I’m sure there’s an Android app too, I just don’t have that. The app is made for a phone, it’s not formatted for a tablet.
The waterproof factor is going to be great, as I will use these to ride my spin cycle at home. I haven’t tested these out in the wild yet but I think they are going to be awesome. The sound on these is amazing, there are so many ways to adjust the levels to your personal taste. That can all be done through the app. Everything is adjustable in the app, it’s one of the best apps I’ve used for something like earbuds.
Overall I’m really impressed with these earbuds and glad to have found a new audio electronics manufacturer.

My current set of earbuds is the jabra 75t. So my review will be a short comparison of the 2 because they also, are very close in price and features.
Fit. The Vista 2 fit my ears better. I think the fins help this. When I'm at the gym, I will have to adjust my jabra's a few times, never had to do this with the Vista. Always stayed in place. Both where light and comfortable as well. The case on both are a good size, but the Vista 2's case was a tad smaller and the exterior felt better. The Jabra's case was thicker and smoother so you didn't always feel like you had a good grip on it. The Vista's case was easier and more comfortable in my jean pocket and my fanny pack. It had a better grip as well.
Looks. They both come in different colors, but I don't care about those things. The jabra's are bit smaller and because of the shape looks better and less noticeable imo. The Vista 2 protrudes out more.
Function. Both have pus button controls but the Vista 2 has a light double tap features which switches the anc and the hear through feature which was great. The Vista 2 buttons also was easier to push and felt a lot nicer. Both had similar controls except, with the vista 2, you have only an option of volume up/down as one of the controls or pulling up Google assistance. You can't do both. That was a real bummer. On the jabra you can have volume and google assistance.
ANC. Both did a good job. Not Bose level, but enough, where I didn't have to turn the volume to max at the gym.
Call sounds. The call sounds on both where good, but the jabra did a better job of canceling background noise. This was from the person on the other line. I had no issues speaking or hearing them on either set of earbuds.
App. The Vista 2's app wins this easily. The app was easy to navigate and had many more features than the jabra's. The most important being the eq feature. The many presets available to the customization makes it just kills the jabra.
Sound. Here is where the Vista loses me. The sounds on the vista is at best average. Nothing exciting. It just sounds average. The Jabra, with it's perfect, imo, bass levels and highs, was just so much better. When I'm working out, I listen to every genre of music, and certain songs has a point. A point that makes you feel alive. Be it when the bass hits on electronic dance or hip hop. Or the symbols on a classical song, a high note by an opera singer. It just makes you feel good. The Vista 2 never gave me this on any song. It never made my head bob up and down. LOL.
So for me, I will continue to use my Jabra 75t. Although the Vista 2's did many things better, the sound quality was just not there. Especially at this level.

Summary:
Great for exercising or outdoor use. The active noise cancelling (ANC) is worthless.
Pros:
- Stay in ear due to rubber fins
- Good battery life
- Great audio quality, sound great!
- Very loud volume
- Clicky buttons easy to use even when running or sweaty
- Touch controls not as easy to use when running
- Good audio EQ in app
- The case is waterproof
- Find my earbuds per bud, and includes case
- Great passive noise cancelling due to snug fit
- Wind noise cancelling from app
Cons:
- The ANC stops won't stop any noise, it does almost nothing when vacuuming or driving etc
- The case is a bit fragile, particularly the hinge
- Bad connection during runs starts playing loud static noise like losing reception on radio station not cool
- A little slower to get in/out of ear due to wing tips
Comparison to Jabra Elite 7 Active:
These are worse in almost everyway to the the Jabra. The Elite 7 Active have better Bluetooth connection, multipoint pairing, better customization. Both have worthless ANC. The Vista 2 does block wind noise allowing use of pass through sound when running, and stay in ear slightly better.
Review:
I changed the settings to toggle between passthrough audio (for use when home so I can hear if my wife is trying to talk to me) and off (for running, gym, or when when I just want quite. I don't use ANC, it literally does nothing. Pass through has option to cancel wind noise in the app, this works well. These stay in your ear great due to wings. They snap into place in the case every time with no effort. These have physical buttons and touch controls. The controls are pretty easy to use and are customizable. I would prefer physical buttons and no touch controls. More customizability would be great, like the option to not use touch controls at all etc. The audio is very good and volume is very loud even in a noisy gym. The Google assistant functionality is pretty good, but not perfect. Overall would be much better if they could stay connected, actually had ANC, and we're more customizable. Would have given 4 stars if they weren't marketed as having ANC, because they don't! These are a great outdoors buds for a very active lifestyle, but they had to many issues for me so I had to return them.

Sixth pair of JAYBIRDS and as usual I’m completely pleased with my purchase .
However they are my first pair of VISTA 2 .
Quality product albeit at a somewhat of a steep
Price. I am Most comfortable purchasing any JAYBIRD product compared to my second choice which was the Bose. Comfortable, water proof, adjustable, great sound , Impossible to lose as they are very stable in your ear.

This is my third pair of the Jaybird vista 2. The first two pairs had problems with connectivity, and sometimes they wouldn’t charge. The current pair that am currently using have the same problems. The connection still drops 2 to 3 times during a 5 hour session, but they reconnect within 10 seconds. In regards to the charging problems, i put the buds in and out the case until the charging light comes on. Sometimes it takes about 5 tries to get them to start charging. All of this problems are acceptable because they fit and sound great.

Upgraded from the x3's. Have my preset to hi-def. Sounds fantastic. Absolutely love that they're loud enough and don't need to turn on passive mode/ anc as the settings really kill the sound quality.
Been almost 2 weeks. I use them for an hour everyday at the gym. Haven't charged them since and I use them at 75%
I do get some connectivity issues here and there. Left one goes out and then comes back on. Biggest mistake they did was having this sensor next to the charging elements. Little black dot. As soon as there's a leak in your ear, it stops music (even though i have auto pause turned off) you have to readjust the bud again because there's light entering and the sensor detects that. Several times even. The sensor really needs to be covered for the buds to play. When doing overhead dumbbell workouts, as soon as you start, the buds stop if you bump your head or ear. For running they're great. Don't fall out, they stay in run a mile everyday and no complaints there.
I could suggest cutting a piece of black electrical tape and sticking it to the sensor to prevent them from always stopping when the slightest movement triggers the sound to stop.
For $150 not worth it. Sound quality amazing. The sensor is the biggest flaw here. That and call quality. Call quality terrible. Person said I sounded like a was talking into a tin can. Slowly regretting the purchase.
Edit: used black electrical tape to block the sensors. For some reason, the app turns on the auto-off feature even though I turned it off. Been about a month with them now. If ears are too oily or sweaty, they will fall out. Just not worth $150

so.. I ended up returning these, even though I rated it 4 stars. I ended up buying the bose noise cancelling.
That being said, these things are amazing in certain aspects. 1st off, the app for this is the best headphone app I've ever used. eq settings, customizable, etc.
2nd, The case that these things come in, are really good as well. Very pocketable, and the loop thing is useful.
3rd. These things go in your ear, and will not pop out on accident no matter what. I feel like you could go on a roller coaster ride, and they would stay in. Best headphones for HIT or crossfit type of workouts I can imagine. IF you are needing a headset for that type of stuff, then this is it, period. read no further.
Now comes the reasons why i returned it. wind noise, when hitting the fabric is horrible. if you are riding a bicycle or anything, or even sitting near a fan, or ac in your car, then you will catch it hitting the mic in anything excent ANC mode.
Sound is just ok. for a $200 set of earbuds, I expect better.
ANC, is more like ANR. you really have to blast your music for it to work, and that's not what I want to do, I get ANC so I DON'T have to blast the music. I needed something to mute out the music at my gym, and this wasn't it. I got better passive reduction with my old galaxy buds.
Simply put. wind noise was the breaker though. I probably would have put up with them if ANC worked better, or if it had better speakers, but I can't pay premium price for earbuds, for the performance. I'm hoping the next gen eliminates the wind catching fabric, improves speakers and ANC, then for sure, it's an all around reccomend.

The Vista 2 are my Dark Horse for TW Earbud of the year. I am on a life quest to find the best true-wireless buds. I try everything that releases. TL;DR- Best buds at any price. Sound great,
Fit great, fell great.
Some things about me:
- I have small ears.
- I listen to all kinds of music. Literally. My liked from radio includes Beethoven, Lil’ Jon, The Beach Boys, Drake, Guns N’ Roses, queen, nirvana, etc. etc.
- I’m picky
Buds I have tried:
- Sony WF-100XM4
- All Bose
- Senn. Momentum 1 and 2 TW
- M&D MW07 plus and sport
- B&O E8 (all varieties)
- AirPods Pro, PowerBeats Pro
- JBL (All, including Under Armour Branded)
- a bunch more that didn’t live up to my standards. Anker, Skull Candy, Amazon brands
The Vista 2 are superior to all of them. Yes… I’m as surprised as you. It takes a minute to dial in the EQ to your liking, but sweet son of Bieber, they sound silly good.
Good:
1. Detailed sound. I hear things with these I haven’t with any other bud.
2. Comfortable - as stated, I have small ears. Most buds have to be violently inserted into my ear canals. That doesn’t feel good. The Vista 2 feel good. Soft rubber, not oversized, lots of ear tip options.
3. Battery - best in class. No more needs to be said.
4. Small case that charges the buds fast.
5. The sound!!!
Not Good:
1.Brand reputation - yes, it matters. Jaybird is viewed as a fitness company, not an audio company. After hearing these, it should be switched around.
2. That’s it. I dare you to knock anything about sound, build quality, packaging, EQ, controls…
Overall - Best on the market at any price point. So crisp, so smooth, well designed, great case, great fit options. Try them and let me know what you think.
DISCLAIMER: I have not been able to get my hands on Bowers and Wilkins PI series. When I find them, I’ll update this review to compare to B&W

Randomly drops connection with my phone and the case doesnt charge properly sometimes...the earbuds will charge but the case wont. Not sure what causes it so now I make sure to place the earbuds and check all the blinking lights before I charge the case, it seems to be working for now.
If the connection issue gets fixed with an update and the case doesnt have further problems then Id give these 5/5 stars. The sound and fit is excellent, the anc is also a big plus and they just work really well for the gym which is mainly when I use them.
The only reason I haven't returned them is because I had similar issues with the first version vistas but I guess through updates they ironed out a lot of the kinks and hoping they do the dame with these.

I was all over the review for these in one of the mens fitness magazines back in 2019. Everything I read told me to order them.
The Apple EarPods look like fishing lures coming out of people’s ears so these earbuds made better sense.
I had several issues with the right ear going out or a loud, electric, cracking sound that would make me pull the earbud out of my ear right away.
I read several other reviews that users posted with the same issue.
The Jaybird tech support though was superb. They sent me a brand new ears buds, two separate times.
On the phone, we went through several resets but after nothing worked, they said they would be sending me new ones.
I hope that since then all of the quirks have been corrected as these really are outstanding as far as sound quality.

I bought these because my old Jaybird Tarah Pros quit working, and was concerned about the battery life and sound quality being lesser than the Tarah Pros, but the sound quality is very comparable, and the battery life lasts me about as long as I need it to, and can give you an extra hour of use with just 5 minutes of charge.
I have noticed some problems with one side of the earphones not producing sound, and the only way I have found to fix it is to constantly pause and play your music using the buttons on the headphones until it works, or re-pair them to your phone, but that only happens when you are starting your music for the first time after powering on. They work just fine while playing music, and have never cut out for me.
They provide a good seal for my ears, which is able to block out a lot of the external noise, and they get plenty loud making these great for mowing the lawn, or doing other noisy activities.
The active noise cancellation (at least in my use case) doesn't work very well, and reduces battery life more than I was willing to put up with, and the noise isolation does a well enough job, so I never use it.
They have a noise passthrough mode which uses the microphones built in to the earbuds to play noises they hears directly into the headphones themselves, allowing you to hear more of your environment, and I've found this mode works great for having conversations. In the app, there is a slider that allows you to change the percent of outside noise that gets in, and with the slider maxed out it actually amplifies quieter noises making them easier to hear.
It should be noted however, that if there is no audio going to the earphones while in passthrough mode, there is a weird humming effect that gets played, it's not loud, but very noticeable.
Another interesting issue, is when the headphones are in passthrough mode: while one or both of the headphones are in my hand or pocket, the microphone seems to pick up noise from the speaker, and amplify that noise causing a very high pitch squeaking/whistling sound similar to hearing aid feedback. It's very hard to reproduce while trying to reproduce it, and thankfully it has never happened while the headphones were in my ear because that sound and volume level could be deafening.
Jaybird Recently released an update that fixed a bug with one of the earbuds cutting out randomly, but I'll note that I never had any issues with this before, so I'm not sure if that fixed anything or not.

Overall, the headphones are good with ANC and SurroundSense that work well but I'm disappointed with the wind reduction noise feature for cycling. Jaybird made a solid attempted at something that is probably pretty difficult (i.e., to let outside noise in while reducing wind noise (since its an outside noise as well)) but I think that feature is just not there yet. It is still very difficult to hear anything, whether its music, GPS navigation, or cars, when traveling at speeds +20 mph with the wind noise reduction on high. Probably would be fine for running or other sports where you don't go as fast.
I was looking for something sport oriented so I didn't need to use my AirPod Pros and would put these pretty much on that level with the incremental benefits being the little ear hook to make them secure and the buttons to play/pause/skip audio. Battery life is solid - I took them on a 6 hour bike ride (SurroundSense on and wind reduction on high) and they made it the whole way with battery to spare when including ~45 minutes of charging throughout the ride. Downside compared to the Airpods is that they use their own app and don't really integrate into the apple IOS system. App is good though to customize sound settings, just not used to it yet.
I find the case a little difficult to open (smooth hard plastic and no opening latch/notch) and have already dropped the case as a result of that. Difficult to handle while riding or even walking.
I would recommend these as a sports headphone with a lot of great features (i.e., durable, waterproof, ANC / SurroundSense) that set the standard for premium workout headphones. However, some drawbacks include the fact that the wind noise reduction feature isn't there yet and that it doesn't fully integrate into the apple IOS system. Still to be determined on how long the battery and earthproof/waterproofness holds up.

I have been on the hunt for some true wireless earbuds for the pets 6 months now. I almost was going to stay with some Jabra Elite Active 75ts that I have tried but they would not stay in my ear and I did not love the way that they sounded even with equalization. Upon returning those earbuds, I have tried several other brands some more expensive some fairly cheap but none checked all of the boxes for me. I needed Great sound, secure fit, and button controls (not touch), and a hearthrough function when out on the street. I was really interested in the first jaybirds but the fact that they did not have hearthrough was a deal-breaker for me. Compared to the Jabras I had, these are not as good but they are good enough. What sold me on these is the sound quality and the secure fit. I found a preset EQ that was submitted that I love and it really lets me enjoy the music that I love while working. Also the fit is really good though I feel like they may start hurting my ears with extended wear.
That leads me to the cons. I did not like that they only came with three rubber fittings and because they are all one piece (ear tip and fin) you don't have any other options. I find myself having to change to the fitting without the fin when not running and putting it back on when I am active and constantly moving when I fear they could fall out. I wish there was at least an option to buy more tips on the website, even a foam option.
Maybe Comply will make some for purchase and I can buy them separately. Also, the ANC on here is pretty bad. Not only does it not block out sound that well, it also changes the sound quality of the music for the worst IMO. I actually use the SurroundSense or just turn it off most of the time. Again, comparing the 75ts, Jabra wind in this category hands down. Hopefully there will be a firmware update in the future. Last thing, these are button AND touch controls. Buttons work great. Touch controls not so much. I find myself having to double tap them multiple times to get them to work. Luckily I just have it set for SurroundSense on and off so it's not used that often.
My final thought is that I feel these are an excellent set of earbuds that check off many boxes and I am really happy with my purchase. I do not see myself getting another pair of earbuds for a very long time

These were great headphones, loved how sturdy and water resistant they are, but the fitment wasn't great for me. Small ear canal is going to be a bit tighter, but the sound was good and they were easy to use. The app was good too. This is a step up from the original version of the Vista. If they had fit me better, I would have kept. My husband loved, but he has a pair, so we didn't need two sets. If you don't have tiny ears, and want a good outdoor/workout/etc. pair that is rugged and has good sound, this is a solid choice.

I really love these headphones. The fit is incredible and the sound is also great! The only problem I have with them is that they seem to disconnect from time to time. This seems to have been fixed with a recent firmware update. Also, it seems like they have issues connecting to the Jaybird app 100% of the time which is kind of annoying. I have also had some issues with the case battery draining overtime when not using the headphones. I think this is due to the find my buds feature. Once I disabled the feature, it seems a lot better.
