I purchased this to go under my Samsung TV in my office, after previously purchasing a JBL 2.1 speaker system for our TV in our living room, that we are very happy with. I don't think it has any better sound than the TV. I would have probably returned it, but I had thrown the box away. I am using it with the HDMI/ARC. I tried the optical connection, but could not get it to work. 1 downside is when I hooked up the HMDI cable and changed the TV to control this speaker, it took the volume numbers off my TV screen. I now only get a volume box without really know what the level is or if I am going up or down. I would probably encourage you to pass on this unit.

However not bad. Its worth it. I highly recommend this product…
