I bought this to replace an older Polk bar that I’ve had for years and I really wasn’t sure what to expect, it had been a while since I’d shopped for good audio equipment, but I knew this was the one as soon as it came up in the app showing an open box with no remote ($100 off!) but that’s no problem for my harmony. I was already out the door to pick it up. I’d been a huge fan of JBL since I first started driving and had to custom retrofit my car dashboard in order to fit infinity kappa perfect tweeters in the corner of the windshield. I wasn’t going to settle for anything less back then, and I decided I was gonna get something really good this time around too. I knew this was the one. Holy cow. I hadn’t realized how far soundbars have come since the last time I looked at anything seriously. Dolby atmos? I have no clue what that is, but I’m definitely plugging in my series x through this hdmi pass through and finding out. It blew me away. I really didn’t know what I was missing. I’d never felt as immersed in the game in my own living room. This thing makes movies truly feel cinematic in my 17’ x 12’ living room. I’m definitely looking to upgrade my 55” next because the sound honestly makes me feel like I’m missing out on what is a great experience. The Bluetooth range on this thing is amazing. Saturday mornings I play music and clean. I take the trash out to the detached garage that has to be about 50’ away and through all the walls of the house and I can still hear it. I know my neighbors must be tired of it by now, but I promise it’s not too loud, this thing just kicks! Plus I always wait for a decent hour before I start. If you’re looking to treat yourself to something a little special that’s really going to amp up your media experience, but don’t want to go too crazy with componen/bespoke or don’t need a 7.2, this is really the top of the heap. This is by far my most satisfying best buy purchase in years.

Amazing Base, volume, and sound quality for the cost. Had one that costed more that was not as good as this product.

Great sounding sound bar for my living room. It fills the room with sound for movies and music and has plenty of volume. We use the subwoofer at a 3 out of 5. At 5 its rumbling the house. Would recommend! Better than my last bar which was a Polk 2.1 model.

I was surpised at the sound of this sound bar. Gets very loud and the bass is amazing. At first I was thinking they forgot to include the manual. I forgot about the JBL One app. Makes setup a breeze. Real simple just one HDMI to the earc/arc and hood to go. Like I said the sound is very impressive. The app works great all the settings you need. Its great to have the wifi and bluetooth also. Listen to music from your phone,tablet or pc. This is a great product!

An excellent choice. Sound, sharpness, pop, bass, dialog, value for money, compact for sound, simplicity and App settings, as well as window rattling bass. Pretty easy decision here and definitely out does any traditional stereo Apm setup for the cost and simplicity without having people need to know how to use buttons upon buttons.

Have a wide, and open living room. Sounds great! being able to move the Bass tower to the side of my couch was the best move ever. Vibrations and sound with Bass right next to me makes everything sound even better.

JUST GOT IT. SETUP MYSELF WITHOUT INSTRUCTIONS. PAIRED WITH MY LG NANOCELL 65” INCH TV. IT WAS $599.00 PLUS TAX. IT SOUNDS GREAT. I CALIBRATED IT FOR MY SMALL CONDO. I SET THE BASS ON MAX. I TRIED OUT MY 4K GODZILLA DVD. POWERFUL BASS. 5.1 IS THE WAY TO GO. JBL IS A GREAT PRODUCT.

The JBL Bar 500 is a high-performing soundbar that offers excellent sound quality, especially for movies and gaming, at a reasonable price point. While it has minor flaws, including occasional connectivity issues and a basic remote control, the overall user experience is overwhelmingly positive.

Very easy to set up! The sound is great!! Comes with everything you need right out of the box. Self calibration feature was a nice plus. I woukd definitely recommend this sound system.

I've never been a fan of sound bar systems. I always thought they were the biggest waste of money, and that you should go big or go home with towers and subs. Until the day I walked into my local best buy with ZERO intent to buy anything, and heard this unit from the front door. I kid you not, for a sound bar system it for sure will rock a small-medium sized room. I have mine in a 13.5'x22' living room and it beautifully fills the entire room with sound. The sub it comes with doesn't compare to a klipsch R12, but isn't too far behind!! I have to have bass in my systems, or I am not happy. For the main speaker.... The sound quality is 100% there. It makes movies sound like there are speakers 360 around you, lol it definitely confused me the first couple times i listened to it... im not disappointed at all !!! i would buy it over and over and over again if i needed to. just for reference.... im used to hearing/having big surround sounds. multiple towers, multiple subs, ect... this unit will for sure stand out against any other sound bar system... ask your best buy rep to give you a full demo..... Ive actually never been to best buy to buy any products before but with the helpful customer service i had received when i purchased this in store I most definitely would go back..So, Thanks Best Buy for your help. Excellent sounding Soundbar! Great bass from the subwoofer with 5 levels of boom. Easy to setup for TV, game systems and Bluetooth from phone as well. Very loud for a bedroom setup but is perfect for movies and gaming.

This sound bar sounds amazing. Easy to hook up and doesn't take up a lot of space. The subwoofer does not disappoint. Great lows!!

Easy to set up, the remote for it seems made of a bit of cheap plastic, however this doesn’t bother me. The Bluetooth is nice, with the Dolby Atmos sound! The sound quality of this sound bar is absolutely amazing and I truly cannot watch tv with out this on. The subwoofer makes Tv/movies/gaming very more intense and interesting with the powerful bass that comes with it! The only problem I have is I can’t get mine to connect to JBL APP

Good but not the great in the beginning it keep disconnecting due to poor plug or something sound of bass is good but sharpness is lacking on words to hear

Haven't had the system long but coming from an few yr old hisense bar and woofer this is amazing. Gets pleanty loud but voices still come through clear. The dolby atmos def makes a difference. Sounds like there are rear speakers with some content. That being said if u do have rear speakers already im not sure if it would make that big a difference but still def worth the money and sounds great. Bass is also pretty dern good. Can feel the sound which to me is a must.

Excellent sound. Side speakers are almost as as good as rear. Easy control and setup. The bass is the best part of this. If you like a heavy rumble during action sequences you want this. You can manually toggle the base punch from one to five. You can manually toggle the base punch from one to 5. 5 is a bit too much for me, but it’s excellent overall. Great item, the woofer cabinet is big but worth the lunch.
