JBL Charge 5 Review – 5 Stars I recently picked up the JBL Charge 5, and I’m absolutely thrilled with it. It’s everything I was looking for in a portable speaker. Design and Build Quality: 5/5 The Charge 5 has a rugged, sleek design with a durable fabric finish and a rubberized exterior that feels built to last. It’s IP67-rated, meaning it’s waterproof and dustproof, making it perfect for outdoor use. The buttons are intuitive, and the speaker has a solid, premium feel. Sound Quality: 5/5 The sound is incredible for its size! The bass is deep and powerful, while the mids and highs are clear and balanced. I’ve had the JBL Charge 5 in red for a while now, and I honestly can’t imagine life without it. The color is stunning—it’s bold and vibrant, and it always stands out wherever I take it. But the real star here is the sound. It’s loud, clear, and packs an impressive amount of bass without overpowering the mids and highs. I’ve used it at parties and it’s never let me down. The waterproofing is a huge plus—I’ve accidentally splashed it a few times, and it keeps playing like nothing happened. And the battery? This thing just doesn’t quit! It feels like it lasts forever. If you’re on the fence about getting one, trust me, it’s worth every penny.

Absolute worth the money! This speaker has amazing and loud sound, well built with high quality materials, an incredible bass and long lasting battery. It is a light weight and portable speaker, so it makes it ideal to take it with you for your indoor family/friends gatherings and/or outdoor events. Buttons are easy to use and supper responsive. Easy to connect to your phone or smart TV to enhance audio experience. I love the new power bank feature to charge your phone and make the party music keep going! 100% recommended!

I couldn't decide between the Charge 5 and the Flip 6. One has a bigger sound and 20 hour battery (Charge) and one is more portable with a 12 hour battery but still has great sound (Flip), amazing bass for its size. So I got both, expecting to maybe return one within BB's 15 day return policy. What I found was that the two together are amazing... They have a link feature (PartyBoost) that gives a huge spatial sound when in use. I put the larger speaker in front of me and the smaller off to the side, closer to my ear. Once you hear this it will be hard to listen to just one speaker. So, keeping them both, very happy with my purchase... JBL links to Bluetooth effortlessly (I have an android phone and other BT sources). Once linked, sound will switch between speakers by turning the power on/off.

At this price point, this is an outstanding little speaker! It is simple to pair and offers a really big sound with good clarity throughout the the mid and high ranges while providing enough bass to fill a medium sized room. That said, it was purchased primarily for outdoor use at the beach where it really shines. I purchased this for my wife as she meets up at the beach with about 10 of her girlfriends once each month and wanted something very portable that could withstand both sand and the occasional splash. After the first use, she came home beaming. She said that it was plenty loud (my biggest concern was that it might not have been loud enough for the beach) and that they even kept turning it down as it was a bit too loud to talk over comfortably. I purchased a carry case for it from a large online retailer that fits this unit perfectly and keeps it safe while not in use. She LOVED that added touch as well.

Love the bass adn crispness of the sound that resonates from this little box. It can get loud too without any noticeable distortion. A couple of things I wish it had was usb-c out and some mechanism to attach a strap (like the flip series). the 7500 mAh battery is plenty for long music sessions. I purchased a case for it so I need not worry about the ends being damaged.

Love this thing. It's a little Bassy, but otherwise perfection. I bought it to listen to while doing heavy yard labor, and later will use it for pool parties. Flawless - and effortless - connection to my iPhone. Heavy duty construction; I never worried about it falling or getting dirty; in fact tossed it in with the other tools, no worries. Loud, beautiful, durable. Just the right size for my yard size and future needs. In fact, it has plenty of room to spare as far as sound range is concerned. I recommend.

Holy mackerel, this little thing packs a punch! For its size the sound quality is very good! Nice punchy bass, and very good highs. Battery life is excellent and is perfect for my needs. I like the fact that you can “sync it with other comparable JBL Bluetooth speakers to share the same music for a surround sound experience!

Great portability and great sound. This speaker doesn't disappoint and it can play very loud...great for inside and outside sound. The downloadable app is just bare-bones but you can adjust the EQ and manage multiple speakers. I also bought a travel case.

This speaker is compact, but packs a hefty punch! Sounds great for around the house chores, yard work (it's dust resistant), grilling or just hanging out. My wife and daughter use it when they're showering as it's water resistant as well. It's surprisingly loud for its size and the bass is just right for the type of music I play on it, which is rock, classic rock and metal. I use an iPhone with it and keep it on the rock equalizer setting, which works for me.

This is the best speaker I have ever had. It’s very portable but still packs a punch. It has very clear sound and great bass. It also hold a charge for 20 hours and I love that it charges my phone.

I used to get annoyed at old JBL speakers that would interrupt the music when I had an incoming call but they got rid of that annoying problem! This sound quality is spectacular and the bass is excellent, you have to try it yourself ! It’s simply a great speaker and for the price tag it’s not bad

JBL has always been reliable, excellent quality and value. Decades ago, my first car subs were JBLs and awesome overall. This JBL Bluetooth speaker is equally as awesome!

Amazing speaker! Loud enough to fill an entire backyard with sound. It’s great for small parties and has a lot more bass than most speakers in this size range. I’ve tried a few other small Bluetooth speakers and all of them are lacking bass. I highly recommend this speaker! The midrange and high frequencies come in loud and clear too. This speaker is worth every penny.

Got this as a gift for my husband. He absolutely loves it! Indoor or outdoor, the sound quality is amazing. Lightweight and easily portable. The charge capacity is ridiculous! He's only had to charge it twice since getting it. That thing can go for days. The sound quality isn't effected by a low charge either. No static ect. It's very sturdy too. Very well made. I would definitely recommend this speaker.

This little speaker has impressed me every step of the way. The sound is way bigger than you expect and the bass is great. No distortion at high levels even with the low frequencies turned up on the eq. The battery life is amazing. I had it going at a BBQ for 10 straight hours and it only dropped to 50% battery life. I’m thoroughly happy with it. JBL has hit a Home Run with the Charge 5!!

I absolutely loved my JBL Charge 5 speaker. The bass is amazing and the souns clarity even with bass was better than other speakers when compared. The battery life is mind blowing. I went weeks without having to recharge from the first time I charged it fully upon arrival, and I used it daily for hours. My sister ended up falling in love with it so much she bought one for herself!

Excellent quality all the way around. This is my fifth JBL speaker and I’ve never been disappointed. After comparing this with my Charge 4, it definitely has better instrument separation and it gets a bit louder, not really worth it if you already have a Charge 4 in my opinion. Compared to the Flip 5, the Charge 5 has better separation, but overall sounds very similar; the Charge 5 is mainly louder, which is expected given the size difference. I can guarantee that you’ll be impressed with whichever JBL speaker you choose.
