I bought this speaker as an open box item in "excellent" condition and rightfully so, I expected a like-new product. I received the product, and from the beginning, things were not going well. The power button was very hard to work (actually thought I'd break my finger...seriously, that bad). Once the speaker finally powered up, there was a horrible rattling sound (as if things were loose on the inside) when music was playing. Worse, none of the playback control buttons (the ones on the front of the speaker) worked. Thankfully the return process was seamless, and I was able to get my money back. The moral or the story? Just because something is in "excellent" condition does not mean you are receiving a like-new product.

Will not take as a return because I didn't buy the "care" package. Should just include the package in the purchase price. If I can't expect a product to last longer than that I will just not buy the product or use Best Buy when other vendors offer at least an exchange for more than 15 days.

Horrible battery

Battery life is horrible if played full volume. I get about 4 to 5 hours tops. I contacted JBL they said best battery life is when used at “background music level”. So if you want to clip it to belt at crank some tunes all day this is NOT the speaker you want. Very disappointed at the 2 JBL boombox speaker i own are awesome and battery life is great.

Posted .Thanks for your feedback, our JBL Clip 5 has up to 12 + 3 with playtime boost hours of battery life. This may vary depending on volume and music content. If the speaker doesn't meet the advertised playtime hours even at low to mid-volume levels, there could be a problem with the battery of the unit. On the other hand you may also try different charging cable and power adapter. If this does not resolve the issue, please contact our Customer Support, so we can assist you.

Will be getting another brand as I had issues with jbl earphones also.

Stick with two unsatisfactory items

Went back to Bb to get another make but the sales person wS uninformed. Also bought air tags and was not able to get help on how to use them. I am stuck with both items.
