I still hear the surrounding environment theough NC mode. Not to mention the quality is a little saddening. Had to get headphone's replaces 3 times due to hearing the speaker in my ear cup radlling or shaking enoug to make a noticable noice as i walk

But do not know that until you purchase the model you think you want to look at. We purchased 3 different models and took them all back.
