The best portable speakers I’ve owned thus far. For songs that are very Base oriented the grey kickers on the side does the job. You can see them kick.

I bought this to replace my nearly 10 year old JBL Flip 2 because the battery only lasts around 30 minutes now. The Flip 5 has a great battery. It lasts at least 10 hours of continuous play. That's the good part. The bad part is it doesn't sound nearly as good as the Flip 2. First of all, it's mono. I knew this going in so it's not than big a deal. Second, it has way too much bass. Even with my equalizer set to the "less bass" or "Flat" settings, the bass overshadows all other frequencies. When compared side by side with the Flip 2, it sounds like part of the music is missing. I intend to keep it because it's a pretty good portable speaker but, I just ordered a new battery (which is a PIA to replace) for my Flip 2.

JBL speaker works great. Overall good clarity and decent charge life. Our family is happy with it. We want a bigger one in the future.

This speaker is great! The sound is very clear and crisp, the volume is about halfway and is loud. If you turn it up all the way it is really loud! I like to use it by the pool and patio area. Battery last a good amount of time, would be nice if it had a cradle to rest in, because it is round and somewhat heavy it rolls. Great sound for all music, powerful worth the price.

Great sound from this little speaker!! Battery life is really good lasting for around 20 hours. Adding this to my Christmas gift-giving list.
