The JennAir 6.4 Cu. Ft. slide In Electric Oven-Silver has a wonderful down draft, better than other JennAir products that I have owned. If the controls and indicators were not parallel with the heating surface they would not be accidentally changed & indicaters seen easier. The silver shows fingerprints more that orther company Stainless steel appliances.

This is our third downdraft in 35 years. The first two used the same blower setup. This new model uses an entirely different setup and I had to abandon the original duct work. BTW, only Jenn Air and Kitchenaid make downdrafts and they are both owned by Whirlpool, ie. expensive. I would have preferred the Kitchenaid as the controls are on the front, but only the Jenn Air was available. the range works great, my wife had no problems using the oven convection feature for her bread and the elements heat up quickly. Designed more like a freestanding range, there is a 1/8 inch gap on either side and the cooktop cleanup requires more effort as there is a raised metal trim around the cooktop for food to wedge against. The cooktop on previous models overlapped the counter top, like a true slidein.

1. Stovetop burners cycle on and off and keep getting hotter and hotter. Water boils on lowest settings on all burners except melt. Multiple calls to Jenn-Air and repair people. Jenn-Air concluded it’s “working as designed.” Do not buy this range. I had to buy a portable burner to cook anything needing a simmer longer than 12 minutes. 2. Just used the “aqua clean” oven clean cycle. Horrible. You can’t leave the racks in so have to manually clean them. You have to manually scrape everything off the oven before starting the clean process. When cleaning finishes, you have to sop up left over water poured into the bottom as part of the process. Oven control panel beeps and messages you to remove left-over water immediately. However, the water and oven is still super hot and hot steam blows at you when you open the oven. Not one single stain was cleaned. It looks exactly the way it did after I scraped spills off before the process. You are basically required to clean this oven by hand but can’t use oven cleaners, only their proprietary spray cleaner called “Afresh.” Doubt this will work either. Had I known I would have to hand clean this oven by hand, I never would have bought it. Having cooked on various makes and models of electric ranges for 50 years, any electric range on the market today, at any price, is better than the Jenn-Air electric range.

Beautiful Range Excellent to boil speed Only problem is that the clock won’t keep proper time.

We have always had Jen air stoves and they always last the test of time. Our last one was 22 years old.

Our last Jenair lasted a long time and this new one is sleek. Can't wait to learn all the bells and whistles.

We purchased this just over a year ago. There were few models available that had a built in downdraft. We have been so unhappy with this oven. First, when the downdraft is on, it reduces the power on the burners so you have to turn them up really high. The back burners are small and take so much time to boil water. But the biggest issue is the self-cleaning. Because the temperature is so low, it does a horrible job removing the grime from the oven. We have spent hours scrubbing it and it won't come off. The oven looks like it's years old instead of brand new. And the oven racks are impossible to clean as well. I miss our 30 year old Thermador oven. It worked so much better! I highly discourage anyone from purchasing this oven and range.
