I'm not a Nascar fan but we enjoy all sorts of racing games so we picked this game up on a whim (only $29), not expecting too much. As it turns out, it's been great fun so far, with tight controls, and tons of features. Compared to most other kart games, it's a bit more involved but feels really fast and combat-like. The cars and the drivers are really hilarious: dumpsters, tubs, coffins (the kids love the cement guy!) and so are the weapons (mines are self-inflating obstacles of different crazy shapes). In addition to just racing, there are some really well-done modes like Matador (people race in opposite directions!), Survival (think musical chairs, but in multiplayer the losers become remote-controlled chickens!), Duel (like a racing boxing match between two cars), Time Attack (more technical time trial), Survival. There isn't much story or movies in this game, but we are yet to finish the Career mode to unlock Jimmy Johnson (the Nascar champ, riding a bar stool!). We've been playing a lot of split-screen but you also get online modes and you can combine the two! There aren't many players online yet but you can invite friends. The 3D display mode was a nice perk too. Even if you don't have a 3D TV, the game has the old-style 3D mode but I don't have the colored glasses, so we couldn't try it. I don't write reviews often but this one has been a blast too play. Well recommended!

I was looking for a Mario Kart style game and this game does a great job. It has crazy, kooky kart drivers ("Bargain Nana" drives a shopping cart, etc.) with great weapons (mines, rockets, "bumps"). Crazy fast courses with secret passages and interactivity within the course. It has Jimmie Johnson's name on it, but it has NOTHING to do with Nascar. Just good family fun.

If you haven't played this game yet then you are missing out. They should have asked me what to put an engine on! My dad used to rebuild cars. I would have made a surf board with an engine or a dentist chair.
