Awesome headset that double as ear muffs!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The JLAB Flex Sports Wireless Bluetooth headphones are an impressive headset (as it has a microphone too) that can be used music, books, and conference calls. This review will be done in 3 parts – features, usage impressions, and pros/cons. Features: The features of the headset are excellent. This wireless headset provides for up to 20 hours of Bluetooth® playtime. The headset has a USB A to C connector for chagrining purposes. This chagrining can be done from a PC, or an AC adapter. The unit can remember up to 8 devices. Additional features include removable and washable ear pads, they are sweat proof, had adjustable tension headbands (for fit adjustment), Ambient noise pass through capabilities (called Be Aware Audio) that can allow you to be more aware in a situation where you need to be more aware. There are 3 EQ sound settings – JLab Signature, Balanced, and Bass Boost. The headset folds up nicely and has a carrying bag included. They also have a 2-year warranty. Usage Impressions: The headset is a wonderful addition to one’s setup. The headset allows one to get the best sounds from any Bluetooth enabled device. I tested the headset using multiple tracks that were recommended for testing audio systems. These tracks were used for testing audio systems across the sound spectrum from deep base to soaring highs. The tracks allow testing spatial separation of sounds and the dynamic ranges of the piece being played. This headset had wonderful sounds form all these tracks and were the weakest when listening to tracks that had distinct sound separation, but this minor flaw does not detract from the overall quality of this headset. Listening to books from my kindle was also very nice with this headset. Using the headset for phone calls was also very good, however, be sure to have the Be Aware Audio feature turned off for this – otherwise, you will hear every Nose around you including the wind. The controls are located on the right earpiece and are thorough including multi-function buttons with one being a press and release action and the other being a “long press” action (1+ seconds) – for example the volume up and volume down buttons also have track forward and track back as long press actions. The power button has 4 functions – power on or off is a press and hold for 3 seconds, the press and release (or 1 click) is play, pause, answer, or hang-up; two clicks is for Siri or OK Google actions, and pressing and holding for 10 seconds is for Bluetooth pairing. The ambient noise button has 2 functions with the press and release being the ambient noise function toggle and the long press cycling through the EQ settings – Signature (Amplified Vocals and Bass), Balanced (even sound without enhancements), and Bass Boost (Amplified bass and sub-bass). Pros: Audio Quality, Be Aware ambient noise feature, portability, battery life. Cons: Typical Bluetooth challenge with switching devices.

Not Great for a Bald Head
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The hard plastic band was so uncomfortable that I didn't wear this item for more than a few minutes. The band is not adjustable. There is a cloth strip that you can attach to cushion the plastic, but doing so just made them ride even higher on my ears.

Very Decent Headphones
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pretty functional set of cans. Has some innovative features that allow you to clearly hear outside sounds and the newer usb c charger cable for a quick charge as well as a long playback time on one full charge. Like the removable ear pads to allow for cleaning. The fit is sort of a one size fits all which may or may not work for all but if it does the fit is very comfortable. Haven’t burned the diaphragms in yet but the sound is getting better over time. At this point the sound isn’t that impressive but it’s decent. The look and color are a little boring but I’m certainly looking forward to seeing what they bring out in the future. Would like to see them priced around the $65-$75 range.

Sound quality is poor
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The fit is ok and the removable ear piece is neat but it does not make up for the lack of quality audio. I returned these after one session at the gym.

Comfortable headphones with good sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are super comfortable headphones for being active and on the go. They come with an optional adjustable band that rests on the top of your head and hook setpoints to get the right tension - I like that. It may be common sense, but I like that the inside of the ears are labeled L and R to just grab them and get a quick orientation. There are some added features for EQ presets. Once set to what I liked, I really don't mess with that function. Then there is a environmental feature that uses the built in mic to allow surrounding sounds into the headset or mute it. Again, I don't mess with it, but I can see where someone may want to. Bottom line is someone put some thought into the extra features. These are not Audiophile headphones where you are going to sit in a lotus position and pick out the notes and tones of instruments playing in your favorite band. What these are, are good quality sounding headphones for someone being active or in an active environment. With that purpose said, I love them for that. They are really, really, really comfortable. My ears don't sweat and I can wear them for a long period comfortably. I use them to mow the lawn, gym or general use. … I do have fancy noise canceling headphones, dedicated large earmuff/more audiophile headphones, etc. And gladly add these to the collection and lately seem to use these more than the others with the activities list. Would I buy them or recommend them for their purpose - active use? Without a doubt.

Worked for Only a Few Months
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not very a very well made headset. One side stopped working after just a few months (can't sync). Shortly after both sides stopped working. Sound quality is average at best. I'm taking it to the Geeksquad at Best Buy to see what is going on. If you buy these make sure you get the Best Buy warrantee because you'll probably use it.

Straight Up Cool
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought these at BBY in LA over the weekend. I've always worked out with earbuds but wanted to give headphones a try. WOW. these are pretty sweet. I've never seen a headband that you can truly twist all the way around. It's unique to say the least! The 2 tension bands are perfect. I can use the FIRM FIT when i'm on the treadmill and then the FLEX FIT when i'm just relaxing. Washable ear cushions that pop off are cool and are made of the "cool-tech" type of fabric. It took me a minute to understand the ambient noise feature but I like it. it allows noise to pass thru the headphone if you're running outside you can still hear a car "honk". I was stuck between this and the new Rock headphone, but for only $99 this made more sense and is way lighter. I dont have the Rock's giant neck muscles so this is perfect for me. ;) Not super familiar with Jlab but overall I'm happy with them.

Superb!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted a pair of over-the-ear headphones for when I walk, to keep the gnats out of my ears. Basically, everything about these phones is a pro, nothing is a con. Connection to my iPhone was a breeze on the first try. The sound is quite good, whether I'm listening to Beethoven, Vince Guaraldi, or Queensrÿche. Noise cancellation, though not quite in the class of my Bose QuietComforts, is also very nice. I usually wear a hat when I walk, and the fit is very comfortable over the hat. The ability to wash the ear pads is a great feature, since I tend to sweat a lot. Really, the only minor (very minor) complaint I might register is that there's no 3.5mm plug. This means that my only option is Bluetooth, so I couldn't connect them to an old-school iPod if I wanted to. But that's not much of an issue at all. Related, the JLab app I downloaded wasn't very good, either, but since you don't need it to operate the headphones, it was no big deal to just delete it from my phone. All in all, excellent value, excellent quality, excellent purchase. I heartily recommend these headphones.

Best Workout Headphones
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These headphones are an unbelievable value! I got these in sale for $80 and they’re regularly $100. I would have paid $200 from a brand such as Bose or Sony for an equal quality product. Here are my reasons why. Sound: Sound quality is perhaps the most important aspect of headphones. These headphones sound (in my opinion) on par with a $200 pair of Sony’s or Bose headphones and I prefer the sound to Beats. Beats are too geared towards the low end for my taste (a lot of Sony’s headphones are also). These have a very clear and crisp sound and I’ve even been heard things in songs that I haven’t heard before. Durability: These headphones seem to be made from a high quality plastic. I feel confident that these won’t break anytime soon. Sweat Resistance: I have yet to use these for the gym, so I will update my review when I get the chance. Value: For $80, these were a steal! They’re a steal for the non sale price of $100 as well. They come with a nice fabric carrying bag and a long usb c charging cable. I would highly recommend these as gym and/or everyday headphones.

Good Fitness Headphones
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.JLab Audio - Flex Sport Wireless Headphones are a solid set of headphones for fitness or just on the go. Build quality is decent and they look nice. The main appeal of these are that they are light and flexible. You can actually twist the headband around and it will flex and come back to normal. I took it to the gym and used it while exercising and took them for a light jog and they did not feel like they weighed me down at all. The earcups are comfy and removable so you can wash them. It comes packaged with 2 tension bands that you can pop on the headband to add more rigidity to the headband to customize your fit and it also comes with an inner headband pad to further your comfort. It also comes with a USB-C charging cord which I give JLabs props for, most manufacturers still havent upgraded. USB-C is just faster and easier to charge with and it also comes with a cloth carry pouch. The Flexsport is also moisture wicking and sweatproof. This Flexsport also has what they call "Be aware audio" which lets natural ambient noise in while you listen to music so you can hear your surroundings, you can toggle this on/off. It also has 3 preset EQ settings which include balanced, bass, and Jlab custom. I like the JLab custom setting which brings up the highs and gives you decent bass. The headphone still manage to remain clear during higher volumes but does lack in overall deep bass. The headphones also do not have a headphone port so this is bluetooth only.

Perfect for the intense Work outs
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are looking for high end headphones these are not it. If you are looking for a great value with great sound. These are perfect. If you work out hard and sweat a lot these are perfect. The ear cups come off easily and are machine washer friendly. The sound is very good. Ive had mine for 2-3 months now with heavy use and they are still running strong. Battery life is real good. I charge them every 3-4 days. Pairing is very easy. When you add all these features they earned a 5 star rating. CONS: only one I don't like is the wind noise if you are outside. or when the headphones are turned off. I strictly recommend these for gym use. OUTDOORS will grant a different experience.

Just OK
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The JLab Audio - Flex Sport Wireless Over-the-Ear Headphones has some nice features but the quality is not quite there. These headphones are not the most expense nor the cheapest headphones. However for the price range, I would expect a bit better quality in terms of sound and connectivity. Let's start out with some pros. The JLab Audio - Flex as the name indicates, has flexibility in the band which also allows for custom fitting. These headphones comes with two tension bands that attached to the headband. This allows for a comfortable fit as well as the option for a tighter fit for fitness activities which this pair is geared towards. With the tension bands, I feel that the headphones fit nice and snug and did not feel like they would slide off. The ear pads has a nice look and comfortable feel to them. The ear pads are also washable that you just toss in the washable carrying case. Battery life is great and can outlast any activity you can endure. Although these headphones has a good look in feel, the Bluetooth connectivity was a bit hit or miss. I had no problem being 25-30 ft away from my mobile device, however there has two incidents within my first few days of use that the connection just dropped and the music just started playing from my mobile device. This was while I was either holding the device or within a foot away. The headphones has a "Custom EQ Sound", which is 1) not really custom and 2) doesn't sound much different. You can switch sounds through the three built in sound settings. You can not fine tune the settings and I didn't really notice too much of a difference between the 3 settings. The "Be Aware Audio" functionality, which allows you to hear ambient noise at the same time as listening to your music wasn't the best. I get that this feature adds some distortion, however the distortion from these headsets seemed a bit overwhelming which muffles the sound of your music quite a bit. At the end of the day, I would say these are just OK. Obviously you can get better sound and quality at a higher cost, but these aren't "budget" headphones either.

Lightweight Alternative to Earbuds
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lack of availability of spare parts is the only negative for my purposes. I love the sound in a noisy room whole still allowing me to hear others (selectively … don’t rat me out). I get multiple days out of the battery; a nice change from years past (as with all brands). I highly recomnend.
