JLAB has made an affordable set of over the ear headphones with the JBuds Lux ANC headphones. JLAB has done that while maintaining comfort, features, and durability. Comfort The adjustable headband has plastic on the sides but has padding on the underside of the top part that touches my head. At no point did I feel any excessive pressure or fell like it wasn't enough padding. The earpieces fit well and are deep enough that my ears don't touch the inside of them. There is padded leather for the earpieces which helps when wearing these for hours on end. I wore these for 4 hours straight and didn't fell uncomfortable throughout that time. Sound Quality I connected the JBuds to my TV and my iPhone. While connected to the TV, the audio quality was very good. The treble was good as was the base. There are two modes: Music and Movie. I checked both and found that both modes were good for regular shows and movies. Through the JLab app for iPhone, I was able to choose which mode as well as what I wanted regarding the EQ. There are 3 equalizers you can set and a custom one. I prefer the Bass Boost EQ regardless of which sound mode is used. I like that I can choose which mode I want through the app or use one of the buttons on the headphones. Bass is present in the audio regardless of music mode or movie mode. With the multipoint connection feature, I was able to not only have the headphones connected to my TV I also connected it to my iPhone. I felt the JBuds did well while listening to music. Music and audio book were clear and music had a good sound. Features JLAB has added some nice features. The JBuds support multipoint connections to two devices. They are also noise canceling headphones which you can switch between 3 modes: Off, On, and Be Aware. The first two are what I expected and the Be Aware mode enhances sounds around you. Essentially it amplifies the sounds of things around you. In the app, you can set what the multi function button does. JLAB has give 4 options for it. This is a nice addition for customizing it as most headphones which connect to a control app don't typically allow me to set custom uses to a button. A safe feature, which you can access through the app, is the Safe Hearing setting. This allows you to choose one of three options for limiting the max decibel output. Also within the app, you can check the current firmware version and update the firmware if needed. I updated to the latest firmware which took about one and a half minutes. The buttons on the outside of the right earpiece are easy to find. It didn't take me anytime at all to find the buttons that I needed to use for any feature that I needed to change. Another feature is the Share Mode feature. This feature would allow me to connect two JBuds together wirelessly to listen to the same thing simultaneously. For people who would like to share music or TV shows/movies, this feature will be great for you. So far I have 10+ hours of listening time with these and the battery status still indicates 90% indicating power usage is low. Overall I'm very surprised that what I get for the price point. I like the sound quality. It's not quite the same as some of the very expensive headphones, but these perform much better that some that I have that are two to three times more expensive. You won't worry about tossing these into a backpack. I'm happy with the JBuds Lux ANC over the hear headphones and hope JLAB continues into the future with headphones that are a reasonable price, sound good, and have numerous features.

    Outstanding budget ANC headphones

The JBL Lux ANC Over-Ear Headphones are great budget Active Noise Canaceling (ANC) headphones. Lightweight and produce a great sound in most modes. The app let’s you unlock more and use them to their full potential. In the box you get the headphones and a charging cable. The box is taped shut at both ends, so make sure you cut to clear both ends. The headphones have bigger physical buttons on the earcuff for music and phone commands. The headphones fit comfortably on my head, but I was near the end of the length. You might want to check them if you have a really big head first to make sure they’ll fit. They fold and collapse to fit in a smaller space. The headphones use Bluetooth 5.3. There is a USB-C port for charging. The buttons are labeled NC, + and -, and blank. By default they correspond to NC mode, volume, and play/pause for music and power/pairing. The headphones can also pair to two devices at once. The foam around the ear cups is comfortable and provides a good seal. Music mode- In regular and ANC modes, the sound is great. Using the app you can set preset or custom equalizer settings. Bass can be boosted and it sounds good with no distortion. Highs and lows all come in. Bluetooth is easy to setup and pair. It has the ability to pair to two devices at once. However, you can only listen to one device at a time. You pair the first device, disconnect and then pair the second. Then turn on the first. The first has priority. If it’s on, that’s what you hear. When it’s off the headphones switch to the second source. Setup is done manually and doesn’t need an app. ANC is nice and muted background noise while keeping the music sounding great. There is a second mode, Be Aware. Be Aware is supposed to let you hear more of what’s around you. However, it had a lot of hiss and I didn’t use it again. I could hear more, but headphone sound was degraded. Regular ANC is far better. Phone mode – In phone mode, I could hear conversations with no issues. Cystal clear. However, people said I sounded a little distance when I spoke. Moving the headphones around improved my voice. It seems to be where the mics are located. A smaller head would seem to make mic pick up better. But, it was good enough for people to hear me. All of the command buttons worked fine in phone mode. App – The app really makes the headphones better. You can customize all but the power button to several preset functions. You can change ANC modes, and adjust the equalizer. The app will automatically pick the headphones once they are connected. Overall for the price, these are a great bang for the buck. 40mm drivers deliver good sound, and the ANC works well. They are rated for 70+ hours with regular use and 40+ with ANC on. Full charge is 2.5 hours, and 10 minutes should give about 4 hours playtime. Standby time is up to 250 hours. Check the sizing. For music they are great affordable ANC headphones.

These noise-cancelling Bluetooth over-the-ear headphones are quite good, especially considering the sub-$100 price. The sound is very good, with rich bass and good trebles (mids can sound a little muddy if they're boosted using the EQ). There are 3 preset equalizer settings -- balanced (essentially flat), bass boost, and "JLab Signature" (which is a modified V shape on an equalizer). I thought both the bass boost and Signature settings sounded really good, but with the JLab app, you can also set your own EQ customization, which I appreciate. Soundstage is decent -- it doesn't sound like I'm in an expansive arena, but it's deep enough that I don't feel like I'm just listening to two speakers jammed up against my ears. The ANC is good as well, with a noticeable reduction in ambient noise as soon as the headphones are on. There's a Be Aware option that uses the mic to transmit ambient sound, in case the user needs to be aware of their surroundings -- I tested this, and the ambient sound comes through without being too intrusive. As with many Bluetooth headphones, there is a slight lag, and there's no gaming mode to reduce latency, so this may not be ideal for hardcore gamers. Pairing is quick and easy, and Multipoint Connection is supported (I tested it, and it works well). As mentioned above, the JLab app makes it easy to select various options (like ANC) or to customize the EQ or the button functions. The app isn't limited to phones -- I was able to install it on my Pixel Tablet as well. Build quality is impressive. It's all plastic, but it's matte and soft-touch, and everything feels solid. The earcups rotate freely for optimal fit, and can also rotate to store the headphones flat or folded up. The headband and earcup cushions are soft and comfortable, and the earcups themselves have adequate depth. The headband size adjustment has a nice mechanism as well -- clicky enough to keep the size that's selected, but smooth enough to return back to the storage setting without a hitch. Buttons are large and easy to find by touch, with reliable action. Charging is via USB-C. Battery life is really good. I haven't done any formal testing, but professional reviews have shown about 45 hours on a single charge with ANC on (it's supposed to push 70 hours with ANC off). Overall, these are pretty impressive headphones even when comparing to the big boys like Sony, but when you take into account the price, it's a slam-dunk, especially if you're on a budget!

Excellent OE Headphones! Battery life is phenomenal, still can’t get it below 100% after a week of off/on/standby usage. App is nice and easy to use and has functional features. My set didn’t have an update out of the box, but glad there is at least the feature to receive them should there be a need. Sound Quality Really good, could have some better bass, but definitely good for listening to music or watching movies. The app allows you to adjust equalizer settings for 3 built-in options and a fourth that allows you to customize. I found the JLab Signature default setting to be quite good for most content. There is also an option for optimization of content: Music or Movie. Movie adds a bit more clear tone to hear spoken word and a touch more bass. I didn’t actually use for calls so cannot comment on call quality. For my use I wasn’t too worried about it as I won’t them for listening when I don’t want to be disturbed. Button Controls These are super intuitive and I love me a physical button over soft touch; no fumbling for finding the right spot. 4 easy to press buttons that provide firm feedback. The app allows for customization of the button press commands for the on/off/gesture button. Noise Cancellation button is dedicated and has the traditional ON/OFF/Be Aware (Hear Through) options. Fitment These are true over-the-ear design and not on the ear. My daughter tested them for a few hours and loved that they didn’t mess her with the studs in her ears. However, for her the headband cushion is of a mesh type and that pressing on her scalp became uncomfortable for her after an hour or so. She has long hair so it naturally parts, whereas mine is short and does not so could just be that. I’d also guess that if the band was extended to where it was not touching the scalp or putting any pressure then this would not be an issue either. The foam earpads are nice and soft and have a neoprene feel to them. They create a really good seal around the ear, so expect to have some humidity build up after a short time of use. The headphones fold up and would fit in an external pocket of a backpack.

The new JLab JBuds Lux ANC over the ear headphones are fantastic. They offer a great style, feel and value in a great overall package. I really like the overall design of these headphones in a matte black type finish and soft padded headband and cloud foam ear cups. Sleek looking headphones at a glance without being flashy. The fit is comfortable for a long period of time and the physical buttons are very easy to use and locate. The headphones have a foldable design that allows for a bit more portability and compact feel. I like the Smart ANC feature which allows me to get a pretty nice experience of keeping the outside noise out. I get a deep quality sound with the 40mm drivers in these headphones for hearing everything in my music or videos. The JLab app allows for a bit more customization of the sound to your own liking and the app is very easy to use. I'm liking the flexibility of using these headphones for the Bluetooth Multipoint, which allows me to connect to two devices and switch as needed. The wireless share mode seems like a nice feature offered by JLab, but I'll need to purchase a second pair of these headphones to try that out further. Inside the box you get the headphones and a USB-C cable for charging purposes. The headphones paired up with my smartphone very quickly and easily in pairing mode. The headphones use Bluetooth 5.3 and have a range of 30 feet or so. I have found the connection to be stable and consistent in my usage so far. The battery life can run you for up to 70 hours without ANC and 40 hours with ANC activated, but this will vary for everyone's daily usage. The headphones take about 2.5 hour for a full charge from zero, but with the fast charge capability you get 4 hours of playtime in approximately 10 minutes of charging. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants ANC over the headphones without spending a fortune. I feel that this JLab Jbuds Lux ANC is high quality and performs very well overall. Great value, modern design, great comfort, and great sound playback.

Finding the right over the ear headphones isn’t an easy task. Are the cups too big? Are they too small? Do they have enough padding and keep out outside noise? These are the challenges I was faced with when looking for new noise cancelling headphones that would be right for casual listening and suitable for travel as well. After looking at many different headphones, I settled on the JLab - JBuds Lux ANC Headphones. Out of the box the JBuds stand out with hard buttons to control the volume, track up/down, noise cancelling modes and power on/off. It is so refreshing to have actual buttons instead of a touch pad to control the various functions. One very interesting feature of the JBuds is the ability to “share” between two sets of headphones with the same content. This allows two people to watch a movie on a mobile device while using two pairs of JBuds. This is great for traveling with kids in the backseat for long periods of time. Another nice feature is the folding earcups for packing in to a backpack or carry on suitcase. The included JLABS mobile app allows you to fine tune your sound with a custom EQ and three JLabs preset EQs. You can also customize the functionality of the hard buttons on the headphones themselves. Smart active noise canceling is also controlled by the app. This lets you vary the amount of outside sound to mute or switch it off all together to hear outside sounds. There is also a Music or Movie mode for different types of listening content. Safe hearing mode is also available on the app to protect the listener from excessively loud sounds. Setup is extremely simple! Download the app and press the Bluetooth button on the JBuds to find it on your mobile device and you’re off. The sound quality is very good. With the use of the app’s EQ you can tailor the sound to your liking and they do sound very good. At an attractive price point and features befitting headphones in higher priced arenas. The JBud’s compete above their weight class for sure and sound great doing it!

The JLab JBuds Lux ANC headphones have been a great product to pick up, I especially appreciate them for commuting.   In the box are the headphones, USB-C to USB-C charging cable, and paperwork. Setup is easy, I recommend downloading the JLab app, for eq settings, ANC adjustment, and firmware updates, however not required to use.  The build is solid, I had concerns the semi-rigid headband would not be comfortable for long wear, but so far I haven't had any issues.  I wear them with the extensions all the way in, but there is about an inch of travel on both sides for adjustment. There is an elastic fabric cover at the top of the headband to improve comfort and the flex in the band allows for comfortable wear without being too tight or loose.  For illustration, I can jog or do chores in this headset with no slipping or movement. The ear cups are plush foam, covered by a synthetic fabric that gives some grip without being too hot. I do think the ear cups will likely work for 75% of users, but may be cramped for those with large ears. When placed on a flat surface the ear cups will pivot to lay flat and used as a personal speaker.  The buttons are physical press buttons, all on the right ear cuff.  Starting from back to front is noise cancelling, +/- volume, power button which can also be customized via the app for multi purpose settings based on 1, 2, or 3 taps.  I really like the physical buttons, no more accidental taps, having to figure out long / short presses, or any of the other pains that come with having to worry about accidentally pressing in the wrong spot. To connect, long press the power button, the light flashes blue/red and then can be connected via Bluetooth.  The app allows for full customization with 10 eq sliders for custom sound, in addition to JLab Signature, Balanced, and Bass Boost presets. The app also allows for noise control, level of active noise control, as well as a pass through mode called "Be Aware". As mentioned earlier, the app also allows programming of the multi-purpose button in the form of 1, 2, or 3 taps and will do things such as play/pause, next/last, volume up/down, assistant, ANC, and change EQ.  Overall all the functionality works well and offers more features than I had expected for the price point, and even more important, it's intuitive.  The comfort level is a solid B+, even for 2+ hours of wear.  What really surprised me with this headphone was the quality of sound and ANC.  I could tell a difference in the ANC levels, and it didn't have the white noise feedback you get with some ANC, the JLab software keeps everything very natural sounding in both Be Aware mode as well as ANC.  When I turn on full ANC and listen to music, it truly does reduce external noises.  I tested with my teen talking to, and while I could hear something, 4' away I couldn't tell what he was saying, even with the volume at a mid level.  The depth of the sound is another impressive offering, again for this price point, I didn't expect the crispness and depth from the 40mm drivers.  In summary, for the price point, go pick these headphones up.  They are portable, light weight, comfortable, with a great sound.  I think JLab got the ANC and drivers figured out and are optimized in this build.

The JBuds Lux wireless headphones are probably the perfect headphones for those that want to have a lot of features, and not spend an arm and a leg to get them. They are not the best sounding or have the best “aware and ANC” modes, nor do they have the best app to customize them, but they do have a great price and everything it does, is great for this price. These are perfect for my kids to be honest. They are well built, have a great battery life (70+ hours), are foldable and comfortable for them. They were also comfortable for my bigger head as well and the padded headband was good also. JLab gives you a full two-year warranty and 30-day money back guarantee as well. Bluetooth multipoint is probably the very best feature that this has. I have much more expensive headphones that don’t offer this feature, and for those that don’t know what it is, it basically allows you to have the headphones paired to two different devices, think tablet and computer, and then seamlessly connect between the two at the same time. My 7-year-old daughter has had no issues with that. I really like the safe hearing feature in the app, I was able to limit the dB to 85 and turn on the Be Aware settings that allows us to talk to her when she is watching a video, so we don’t have to yell at her. Now if she would just stop ignoring us that would be great, but I can’t blame the headphones for that. Overall, if you are looking for a budget prices full featured wireless headphones, then you cannot go wrong with these.

These headphones have a clear sound. The bass quality of the sound is perfect. These headphones come with a noise canceling feature. The noise canceling works well, however is not as good as other headphones in my opinion but gets the job done, you can enable and disable noise cancellation if you like. Also, has a “be aware” mode which basically allows you to hear the sounds around your environment better. So, for example. If you are walking outside and a car sounds the horn on you, you will be able to hear it. You can also install the JLab App on your phone which makes you create custom sound presets as well as control the features of your headphones. Initial setup via Bluetooth was easy using my iPhone 12 Pro, I didn’t experience any issues. These headphones only work via Bluetooth it has a usb-c port but is for charging only. Comfort is ok, not great. They feel good when you put them on but as time passes it feels a little bit uncomfortable. I prefer that these headphones were a little more breathable. They feel very hot in your ear when you use them for a while, but that is pretty much typical with all over-the-ear headphones. I guess it requires getting used to it. Do I recommend this to someone? Absolutely YES….For the price, I believe is a good buy.

Right off the bat, the pairing is bad with iOS 17.5.1 and Apple iPhone 15 Pro. I downloaded the app and followed the instructions. I connected with Bluetooth but the app still does not list it under devices. I’ve re-paired it and same thing. So this review will be using Android OS v14 and Google Pixel 8 Pro. I downloaded the app for Android and during pairing, it detected it. This was a better experience than iOS. The app review was concerning with low ratings. But after reading a few and using the app it seems many feel the app is unnecessary since you can do the same thing on the headphones itself. The JLabs app recognized it and lists it under the device list. The app is easy to use and laid out well. I prefer it over the buttons because everything is labeled on the app. For the headphones, they fit okay over my head. The pads are fine but may become uncomfortable after 30 minutes of use at least for me, I would need to remove it. My ears would get warm and fit feels tighter. This is a subjective take because my head and ears may differ from everyone else. The noise cancellation is fine. I’ve had better from other headphones. I also tried it on my MacBook Pro M3 Max. You don’t need an app installed but you will rely on the physical buttons on the headphones. It does not work as a wired headphone when connected using the USB-C cable. It would’ve been a cool feature. Let’s say the batteries are dead and you want to use it with your laptop, you would have to wait for it to get enough charge to use it again. I think this is a good Bluetooth headphones with noise cancelling. There will be better ones but at a higher price point. I would not recommend it with iPhone. But it’s nice with Android phone and MacBook Pro.

JLab has been hit or miss with my experiences with them throughout the past few years, So It is very safe to say that I am skeptical. I've used them for a little over a week and too be honest. It hasn't been a totally bad experience. The sound quality is pretty good for such an affordable pair of headphones. The buttons are easy to get to and control your music and phonecalls. The ANC is very above par, and really shuts the world ouut when turned on.Evenn when there's no music playing. It comes with a very nice braided USB Type-C charging cable that I have yet to even need. That's right. These things were fully charged right out of the box. And remember, I have had these for over a week. The thing is, I like to use my over the ear headphones sparingly( Only when I'm in need of solitude. Like when I'm working out, or if I am a passenger in an Uber or LYFT or even public transportation. So I don't burn through headphones too quickly. The battery life is approximately 70 hours( Yep. 70.) So you get my point. The Jlab app is where you are able to use the EQ mainly, so I recommend installing it. As far as comfort, that's a different story. I wear glasses. This means it is a very important thing to not be too tight around my glasses. And these don't do well for long sessions for me. They become uncomfortable quicker than I would like. The sound quuality is better than expected. So I'll give it to them on that. I'm not too crazy about the guuiitar pick shape of the drivers, but if that doesn't bother you, and you don't wear glasses, these should do very nicely for you. These could also benifit from having a carrying case or a bag. Something. The IP rating is unknown, but I have been okay while working out for now. Hopefully the foam will hold up for a while. I still don't feel safe out in the rain though. Still, for the $80 price point, this is a bad pair of bluetooth headphones.

I also bought the JVC "Deep Bass" on ear headphones and both are great headphones at this price point. Both were on sale at $39 (JVC) and $49 for these. I preferred the over the entire ear comfort that these provided. Noise cancelling is pretty good for the price point. The Jlab app works very well in adjusting EQ settings. The speakers rotate in different directions for added comfort. I can't speak for longevity, but so far I would highly recommend this product.

Like a corvette is a poor man's super car, these headphones are a poor man's Ipod max's . ok , so you won' t get the fit and finish of the Ipod's, but you will get the sound quality you want for a tenth of the cost. They worked and connected right out of the box , and the sound on par with the best. These are now my go to casual listening fun.

Wow!!! These over-the-ear headphones are exceptionally great sounding and were easy to pair up to my old device. I hear sounds/musical instruments in the background which were not audible before to me on my old headphones. They are comfortable to wear, also.

These work really well! Were used at a concert to keep the extreme crowd noise to a minimum. Also used around the house to help focus with tasks, as well as keep video games and videos to listening personally. Will be testing them in crowds of kids soon! Extremely well made and comfortable, works exactly for what they're needed for! Great price, great purchase!

Definitely one of the best. It’s pretty cheap so I thought the noise cancellation wouldn’t be that great, but I was wrong. I wouldn’t place it next to the most expensive Bose for noise cancellation, but it definitely does the job. Would recommend it if you’re short on budget. If not, I’d recommend more expensive products.

I bought this for my daughter on sale. She loves them. The ANC is perfect for her needs. I have other JLab products that I have bought in the past and the quality is very high. Highly recommended this brand.
