Vampires is nice movie for the night … blood blood

This is one of John Carpenter's later entries and I really enjoyed it. Not his best, mind you, but quite solid. James Woods is a lot of fun as the lead vampire-hunter. What makes this special is the stunning amount of extra features on the disc. Video quality is also quite good. This will be best appreciated by those who are already fans and appreciate lots of behind-the-scenes details.

John Carpenter has always been a misunderstood director, kind of an outsider in Hollywood. His filns have not been praised as being blockbusters when they were released theatrically, but thanks to hime video, these films has gained a huge cult status. Vampires is one if my favorites, mixing horror and western genres, which makes for a great ride.

I remember seeing this in theatres with my ex-girlfriend as a teenager. Really enjoyed it! It's a hybrid Western/Horror. More Horror than anything. Shout/Scream Factory has done an amazing job with this transfer, as well as the extras. If you like John Carpenter, and vampire flicks... then I highly suggest this one!

I bought this only because I'm a John Carpenter fan. But it's not one of my favorites of his work. The blu-ray transfer looks good; very film-like retaining a lot of grain. Cool cover and overall release from Shout! Factory. A great title to add to your Carpenter collection.

The Film Transfer from DVD to Bluray made this film beautiful to watch... ive been waiting for years to see it clear, filmed in new mexico, the country and the sunsets are awesome. Great story, John Carpenter makes a dirty vampire story, these are not aristocrats....

John carpenter has done it with this vampire flick great story action and gore can’t beat James woods performance and Thomas Ian who did a great job who was also the bad guy in karate kid 3 it blew my mind about that didn’t even recognize him.

This is truly one hardcore action/thriller horror movie. An elite team of vampire slayers against a very powerful master vampire hellbent on living in the sunlight and destroy the world. I highly recommend getting this awesome movie.

John Carpenter gives us his version of a Vampire movie. And it is a blast. Join the crew of Vampire Killers as they look for the original Vampire. James Woods gives a great performance. This is a must have movie. Buy it and watch it now.

James Woods/ John Carpenter team up in this now-western disguised as a horror movie. This is one of the best films that the prince of darkness that directed and one of James woods best performances!

This is a great vampire movie . John Carpenter has put out some great movies in his career . This movie was pretty bloody which was a pleasant surprise . Good watch

This movie has become a classic for me and a must have for my collection! It’s a great trip back in time and to see something that was done differently.

Vampire hunter movie that was out the same year as BLADE. Good film with great and new extras for this edition.

If you love the movie than this is the only edition you’ll ever need or want The James woods interview makes it worth the price

Scream Factory movies are hard too come by, so glad I ran across this one. This one just hits different. John Carpenters Classic blu ray classic!!!

I’ve always thought that this was a good vampire movie. I like the plot. I like how they hunt and kill vampires in this movie

Quality is really good, great sound. The effects are really well done. Has quite a bit of features to satisfy any fan.

A bit overpriced for this cheesy vampire flick buuut it's still a Carpenter movie so it has to be owned right?
