This movie is sad but awesome. I couldn't imagine being put through what he was forced to go through. The I would reccomend this movie to any family to watch because someone would have to be made of stone to not be touched by this movie. I would be careful about having an over sensitive child watch this movie but that would be my only concern. I would say that an 8 or 9 year old would put themselfs in the position of the child in the movie and would be negatively affected mentally by the thoughts that naturally come when seeing something like it.

As a father willing to do ANYTHING for his son. This genuine love will bring you to tears when you get ahold of this movie. When your child's life is on the line, what can you do? what are you gonna do? what are the choices? Denzel took his aggression out to prove that his family comes before anything. I wonder if it's based on a true story? He sold everything(car too.), Begged everyone(insurance companies), and then took things into his own hands.

Denzel Washington does an excellent job as John Q, the underpaid factory worker father trying desperately to save the life of his son. The movie makes you question both society and yourself to truly consider how situations like the one in this movie should be handled. What would you do? What responsibility does the government have? What responsibility does the hospital have? I definitely suggest adding this movie to your collection.

This is everything you could want in a drama. Denzel Washington nails his role, as a loving father who is forced to take desperate measures to save his young boy's life. Very emotional movie. One of the few movies that made me cry. Such a great movie. Denzel is the man!

Shows just how far some people will go to help those they love and care for, John Q, delivers a powerful performance and a moving plot; "An excellent movie with one of my favorite actors". Excellent plot, great acting, why wouldn't you want to see it?

denzel is amazing! you can see the pain and determination in his eyes. that's what a true father is...one that would risk his life and freedom to save his child.

I know I say this alot when I'm discussing a Denzel's movies, but this movie is pure greatness
