John Wick 2 accomplishes what very few sequels can and it does it so well that now I have anxiety for part 3! The stakes are raised, the pacing is incredible, the lore of the criminal underworld is heavily expanded on, it's thematically strong, and the tension between Keanu and Common is so high that it'll compress your blood into diamonds. My only complaint involves a WTC Path train and if you're a train-hopping NJ/NY scumbag like me then you'll know what I'm talking about but to be honest though it only irked me a little bit and the scene is still baller AF. Watch John Wick 2. Don't be standing in Best Buy with a copy of John Wick 2 in one hand and 2 Fast 2 Furious in the other contemplating. Nah do the right thing. Buy John Wick 2 and put the other movie back in the bargain bit. Watch John Wick 2. WATCH IT. And if you haven't seen part 1 then that's the first thing you need to get once that tax return money comes in along with part 2 while you're still in the store. Then with whatever money is left over go watch John Wick 3 in theaters. Then go back to Best Buy and get that steelcase BluRay/DVD/Digital HD/4K/LMNOP edition of part 3 when it's released months later. I'm stoked. You should too. Divorce rates drop when couples keep John Wick in their household.

The continuing excitement of a great franchise That's included John Wick-2 picking up where Jhon-Wick-1 left off. JW2 is packed with enough fire power and martial arts to keep your adrenaline pumped and from beginning to end, without letting up. Keanu Reeves has found his nitch in portraying a brutal killer pitted against a secret society of international assassins he is a member of that turns on him because of his wanting out of a blood oath to live a normal life.

John Wick is back with a vengeance in this adrenaline-fueled action extravaganza! As the legendary assassin takes on the criminal underworld once again, prepare for a symphony of bullets, bone-crunching fights, and breathtaking stunts. I bought this based on how well I liked the original movie. The acting was excellent across the board. I would have liked better writing with regard to character development/story line which relied on short banter to backfill the history/relationships between characters. The story continues based on the first John Wick movie (so I would recommend seeing that first) and the first several minutes of this movie is spent laying the foundation of the myth and legend of John Wick, the assassin nicknamed The Boogyman, who went on a killing spree over having his car stolen and his puppy killed by Russian mafia-types (in the prior movie). He is now working on getting his car back. A marker/debt is called in - the debt payable to an Italian boss who facilitated John's prior 'retirement' from the assassin career. The marker is only now able to be called in because the previous retirement honored by the other professionals is now disregarded since John went active in vengeance against the Russians. The fight scenes and shootouts seem more lengthy in this sequel. John is more vulnerable as a target and several colleagues/adversaries seem more challenging in this movie than the prior. Keanu is thoroughly convincing without under or overplaying the character - which is why I think this still works. This plot plays out like a chess game that winds down to checkmate. The ending was a bit of a surprise and I would like to see how the next John Wick movie is written.

John Wick movies are non stop action at its best, but not for the weak of heart and def not for the kiddos. Violence is too much for the young, imho.

The first movie was good, and such a hit, that a second one made perfect sense. This movie is action packed and filled with plenty of action. If you like the 1st one, you will definitely like the second one. I bought John Wick 1 & 2 to watch them before going to the movie theater and watch the 3rd one. I bought this copy because it was a good deal. For just $14 you get 3 copies, a digital, a BluRay and a 4K UHD one. This is a much better deal than buying just the BluRay copy for $10. Oh and I should mention that the BluRay doesn't seem to have Dolby Atmos when you purchase the BluRay copy alone, however the BluRay version on this pkg does include Dolby Atmos, weird but that's how they did it. Get this copy you will enjoy it.

I think ‘John Wick: Chapter 2’ is my favorite film in the series so far. The original film is a close second, and the third film isn’t far behind that. I’m very eager to see ‘Chapter 4’ when it comes out, which I have a feeling will be the final film of the series. The Ultra HD 4K Blu-Ray picture and sound quality are impeccable and provide an even more immersive experience than the regular HD Blu-Ray, which is pretty great itself. Highly recommended for action film aficionados who like to see such films taken to a higher level both visually and conceptually. The style is the substance, and what substance it is.

Loved John Wick Chapter 2. It starts off concluding the first movie as John recovers his car with several minutes of crazy action. The weapons were great, the action was stylized and fluid and John battles throughout. There is not a great deal of dialogue, but that is who this character is. It did not have the same heart as the first John Wick, but it had a great deal more action and introduced a lot more characters setting up the 3rd chapter. If you are fan of the original, then you will love the second chapter. There is a great deal of violence and language, so not recommended for younger viewers.

This is amazing steelbook, looks incredible, and the film is a work of art. Keanu has always shown he is a real artist, but this movie just a whole new level. Keanu as Mr. John Wick or Babayaga is never old, and never boring. See this film own this version and scream his name Babayaga! Lol!

John Wick wasn't designed for a sequel. It began with someone killing John Wick's dog, and ended with the vengeance-bent uber-assassin stealing a new best friend from an animal shelter, after dropping 76 dead bodies along the way. The movie succeeded not on the strength of its story, but on the elegance of its action, and while it reaches at times to justify its own existence, John Wick: Chapter 2 boasts a reunion with Matrix co-star Laurence Fishburne and two major improvements on the original: First, no animals were harmed in the making of the film. And secondly, the human body count is significantly higher. If the latter detail offends your humanistic sensibilities, then this isn't the franchise for you. Even for Grand Theft Auto junkies and those at the other end of the spectrum, it can actually get tiresome watching Wick eliminate a seemingly inexhaustible stream of henchmen at times. But there's a quality to the violence here that elevates it above the literal and reprehensible nihilism of movies and instead achieves something more akin to dance. John Wick: Chapter 2 pits Keanu Reeves' titular character against the mean and nefarious of the criminal underworld. Once again, Reeves proves that he is a force to be reckoned with in this ridiculous, over-the-top sequel that is every bit as fun as the original. These types of films are rarely known for their artistic value but sets the bar pretty high, not only in its action, but in it's set design and camera work. This is pure escapist entertainment and is exactly what you're looking for. The look and feel of the film is very much in line with the first. It has beautiful, vibrant colors that compliment the violence and chaos. The sound is absolutely amazing with each gun sounding the way they should instead of using the stock machine gun or pistol sound which is something the original was guilty of at times. The performances are incredible and the direction of the action sequences is beyond impressive. This is a bigger John Wick and one that does a nice job at expanding on his world. The only issue that the film may have depends on your taste in action films. This is considerably longer than the original but it moves so fluidly and frenetic that it barely feels like it.
