If you like Journey, then it's a must see. This 1981 Journey concert for MTV, after original members departure (Greg Rolie hits not performed), however the band was at the top of their game in 1981 with Steve Perry and his material, mainly. I wasn't much of a Journey fan back in the day, but now I can appreciate how great and cohesive the band was, and by that time, they had distilled their pop/rock sensibility and vision of how hit songs connect - as I'm sure Bill Graham knew. Perry's voice is remarkably flawless and he makes hitting the high notes seem easy. The Journey 'band' is tight; all members, and notably the drummer, Steve Smith 'rocks' throughout this performance! Warning: the contents of this DVD (songs) can linger for days!

I adore Steve Perry, I always have since first hearing him on the radio, I was 19 then and I had to see him live in concert, I was desperate to see him live I went to Joe Louis Arena (by myself) in Detroit back in 1981, no regrets, oh just one, I wish I could of met him. The music is awesome!! I am a little disappointed though, the concert footage is a little grainy, but still worth it!!

Loved it. Watched this with my 20 year old daughter who loves them as much as I do. Saw them twice in the late 70s, so this is as close as it gets. High energy concert with lots of favorites. Nice concert to have. A must have for Journey fans.

Journey has grown in stature over the years and it’s easy to see why! Steve Perry is one of Rock’s greatest singers and this concert was one of their best! Enjoy!

I have great memories seeing them at a Detroit show in "81". Steve Smith on drums and Neal Schon on guitar are my favorites. The audio and video are real good on this DVD.

I added this concert to my collection of classic rock concerts and I'm very pleased with the quality of the sound and image considering that it was recorded in 1981. It is also excellent to have this performance with the original members of the band.

I had to get this dvd)/cd. When we had to leave the shelter.A very nice driver took me and my daughter.From Victoria to Austin.He played it for us. We had a long trip,but it keep us alert.God bless to him.Great music good memories.

If you love Journey, this is the DVD concert to watch. Their performance of Open Arms was amazing!

I love Journey! I hope they find a way to enhance the sound and video on these older concerts so they are of higher quality, but still a great concert!

Steve Perry's voice is incredible, and I played this DVD in my theater, but this 1981 live concert in Houston was a bit of a disappointment. Hit songs were good, non-hit songs were not.
