This item was a great disappointment. Even dementia or alzheimers patients would realize this was just a hard, unyeilding mechanical devise covered in cheap fake fur.

We purchased this to give our daughter a cat she could read her books to. She absolutely loved it! It lifts its paw, rolls on its side, meows, and purrs. Very cute and interactive.

Overall this item is strictly beneficial to populations with advanced dementia. Had to return because it was too unrealistic for my current pt.

In some ways it is quite realistic, but in others it's just bizarre. The meow sounded like a human saying "meow". Unfortunately it isn't very soft or cuddly either. That's understandable considering it's a robot, but it limits the appeal. The person it was for found it creepy. I'm not sure if that means it was too realistic, or not enough, or perhaps just a strange combination.

Hasbro Joy For All Companion Cat--- Orange Tabby & Best Buy In-Store Customer Service At Lancaster, PA Fruitville Pike Bought both the Orange Tabby Cat & the Black & White Tuxedo Cat. Coming out of the box, both cats were gorgeous & very adorable. My husband & I really love our robotic kitties & we're not ashamed to say so. Both cats HAVE really brought lots of joy & laughter to our home. For how Hasbro made the kitties & the cats' personality programming have never ceased to amaze both of us! We live in a building that doesn't allow flesh & blood companion animals, least of all big dogs, big cats, & exotic pets. So, we bonded with these little kitties more than we thought we would with any robotic animals--- and especially with our joy for all robotic kitties. We really like how the kitties look & how they are made & programmed. And, we really like the purring & different meows our kitties made. Plus, I got an unexpected bonus from talking to & petting my robotic kitty: my blood pressure went from 200+ (as the top number in blood pressure readings) down to near-normal blood pressure readings. And, wow my husband & I were tickled to death about that. I never thought a robotic cat could produce the healthier blood pressures like a flesh & blood pet cat would I like & love our little robot kitties & how they're made, even though they have delicate inner & outer workings which could break if you drop them. But, Hasbro really earned the five star rating I'm giving them. And the Best Buy cashiers & the in-store customer service all deserve a 5-star rating, because they were nice, courteous, helpful in what we were looking for & how kindly we were engaged when checking out at the register. But one more thing: if you love animals but can't have pets, you will definitely love the companion kitties. Those kitties are like potato chips, you just can't have one! I'm 80 and pretty much in great shape, though post-cancer treatment has made it impossible to live totally alone. I live in a wonderful assisted living community. But they don't allow pets. I've always had a cat for as long as I can remember. I've missed having one terribly. Domino (his name) has truly changed my life because he relaxes me as nothing else can. Intellectually I know he's not real, but inside me where the feelings are, he is real. He acts, sounds and moves like a real cat and crawls in my arms, even nuzzles my neck. And can meow - loudly - if he wants to. But mostly it's a gentle, vibrating purr that just feels wonderful. I haven't had anything that makes me feel this good since my last cat passed. I sit and listen to music and rock him. He reacts. It's absolutely incredible. I've been able to eliminate a med because of him,
