My friend has Dementia Symptoms and is afraid of having a real dog. The Joy for All Pup mimics a real puppy in sound, head / eye movement and even lightly snores for a minute when going to sleep. The pup seems to learn its owner's voice and turn its head toward the owner, responds with head movement and a puppy bark. Amazing

I am a Best Buy employee and one of the merchants who brought the companion pup into the senior assortment. We weren't sure what to expect when we first learned about the companion animals, but we were blown away when we heard the stories about the impact these pets can have on seniors. The dog is adorable, and it even acts and sounds like a real dog! It's a perfect gift for an aging loved one who may want a pet but is unable to care for one.

This “pet” is well received and interactive with everyone who notices him. The more activity the “animal” receives, the more animation he displays. It brings a different conversation amongst all. It was initially purchased for my 93 y/o dementia mom.

This was, without a doubt, the best Christmas gift! My son loves him! He really has a calming effect as he is petted and held. He actually snores when no one plays with him. Very life-like. Better than a real dog....he doesnt require walks or feeding, and doesnt chew the furniture! Excellent emotional support "animal" for people of all ages. Would be a great "companion" for elderly persons or children who may be ill or hospitalized. Well worth the cost. There are "robotic" pets for sale that may cost hundreds of dollars, but this is a less expensive option, and just as good. Its "bark" is soft and calming, not loud or scary. This company also makes a cat that is extremely lifelike.

My 80 year old mom lives alone. Because of her disability, she cannot tend to a real dog. But, she can tend to a little companion that she can easily turn on or off. My mom loves "Goldie," my new brother :-)
