What if the part of the Superman story was not about Clark Kent (Kal-El) but about another hero or villain from Krypton. This is an enthralling movie without knowing everything before it happens like so many other movies. My wife says its a Cartoon, it is a great story that is NOT YET live action, but like so many other anime (a.k.a.cartoon) , it is alot better than what Hollywood is putting out.

DC Universe What If

DC home animation projects are of constant(for the most part) high quality. DC Is only now beginning to do what Marvel has been great at.
At the end of the day, the DC Universe wins by a nose(I mean, hey, Batman and Superman, okay?) They really mine the what-ifs here. What if Batman and Superman and Wonder Woman originated differently? What might that look like? Would we like the result?

An original story that shows an alternate reality. Where a more violent and a by any means necessary Justice League vanquish evil. Not really for mainstream fans. Lots of DC universe references and Easter eggs. Although the point of the movie was an alternate universe, couldnt help but miss the original heroes and see how they would have dealt with the same adversity.

A great alternate take on the Justice League characters of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman. The movie is full of DC cameos and references sure to please die-hard fans. And the animation harkens back to Batman: TOS and the Justice League cartoons with designs by the great Bruce Timm. One of the best animated efforts from DC in years. Definitely worth checking out!

Gone are the Superfriends this is a truly grownup story. Superman being Zod's son and being raised by Mexican immigrants, makes him a more down to earth hero. The ability to turn bad guy is there though, bubbling beneath the surface. Wonder Woman is fierce, and Batman as vampire is really good. Bruce Timm tells a compelling story. It's worth buying.

I thought it was terrific. Unlike some of the more recent fare from DC, the characters were well-realized and the dark aspects of the story seemed to spring organically from the characters and situations rather just a need for the writers to provide a cheap thrill. Each character was given a flashback origin - Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman.

Another excellent animated superhero film from start to finish. I love the PG-13 rating. Going forward all animated DC or Marvel animated movies and series should follow suit. This a is treasure for any tent adult fans. Story os clever and original. Blu ray disc has all the extra features that I have come to expect with all DC animated movies. I can't wait for the next one!

This movie is based on an Alternate DC Universe, so don't expect it to be your classic Justice League movie. But take into consideration the fact that it is different is the reason why it is so AWESOME!! Also take the time to see the extras in the Blu-Ray. They are worthwhile especially if you watch them all BEFORE watching the feature film. All in all TWO THUMBS UP!

This could've easily been an "evil Justice League" story, but fortunately it wasn't. At first when I heard Bruce Timm was returning, I was excited, but was deflated when I read it wasn't to write the characters we know and love. I'm not the biggest fan of elseworlds tales, but this one has layers and isn't simply a more brutal and dark JL.

I purchased this movie after seeing the trailer while watching Batman Animal instincts. The story was not bad, it was strange seeing Superman look like General Zod, Batman as a Vampire and Wonder Woman looking like someone from Darkseid. The Story had lots of action and the voice acting was good. Give it a chance you may like the story.

This was a very interesting take on the Justice League. They are an alternate versions of the original Trinity and these guys do not play around. They are not afraid to kill their enemies and I loved the tension that was building up between them and the government. This had action and signs of conspiracy against the League. I hope they do another one.

This is a fun and very very different movie from the folks working at the DC Animated studios. If you can get over the unorthodox takes on the traditional DC characters (Batman is nothing like you've seen him before), it is a fun little movie.
Lesson is, when Bruce Timm does animation, just go with it. You will have a fun time.

I liked the movie and if I wasn't such a completest I would have not purchased the BB exclusive with a figure in it I would have saved my $8 and bought the non-exclusive one. If you don't mind paying an additional $8 for the little figure its ok to get. You won't be disappointed with the move. It was good. Kids loved it too lol.

It was confusing and difficult to adjust to the alternate universe. But I tried to take it for what it was. I enjoyed the violence very much as I am attracted to the darker and more mature animated movies. Overall it was a pretty interesting and unique take on these characters, especially Batman, that was a breath of fresh air.

I love the DC animated movies, sometimes more than DC's live action movies. This movie has to be the most adult animated movie I have ever seen from DC. This movie has no problem showing the blood from being stabbed by a sword or being burned alive by heat vision.
I enjoyed it but would not let young children watch this until at least they are teenagers.

Im a huge fan of DC animated movies in general I think they always do a great job with them. This one is about an alternate timeline where all the hero names are the same but they are different people things happen just a little differently than the normal story and everything is different. Cool story, great animation

Refreshing take on Classic DC characters. Good story, but slow because of the necessary origin stories, great use of DC Universe characters especially the New Gods. great movie, but still makes me want to watch the characters themselves. Batman, superman and wonderwoman and see how they would have handled this adventure.

I've never been disappointed with any of the DC direct films. This one had a lot of alternate takes on origin stories. A bit confusing, but they go through the backgrounds of each character as the movie goes. I didn't know it was going to be all "Elseworlds" style storytelling, but I did enjoy it by the end of the film.

A Different Take on the Justice League

As a kid I always liked reading DCs Imaginary Stories of all of our super heroes. Bruce Timm has done that with Justice League: Gods And Monsters. A what if story if the origins of Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman were altered and made them darker. If you want something different than what you know has gone before then this is the story for you.
