I’m not sure why DC seems to be unable to capture the magic of its franchises as well as Marvel. I was entertained watching this movie, but when it was over I wasn’t struck with a feeling of awe or wonderment like I am after watching nearly all of the Marvel films. Ben Affleck was totally miscast as Batman. I kept an open mind when he was given the role but after two movies I have to say he’s a dud. Henry Cavill just didn’t seem to be as interesting as Superman as he once was. Jason Mamoa and Gal Gadot are incredible but can’t carry this movie on their own with the rest of the dead weight cast and lack luster script. If you’re a major DC fan I’m sure you’ll enjoy this film. Otherwise maybe rent this to kill some time and save your money.

    All We Were Waiting For

In Man of Steel, we learned the origin of Superman and the Man of Steel faced one of his toughest opponents, General Zod. Unlike earlier Superman films, Lois Lane is aware throughout that Clark Kent is Superman, based on the idea that, well what kind of Pulitzer-Prize winning reporter would she be if she couldn’t figure that out. The film ends with the death of General Zod and Clark Kent coming to work for the Daily Planet. In Batman v. Superman, we get a much more complicated story line. The evil genius, Lex Luther, sets out to ruin Superman’s reputation and make Batman and Superman hate each other, so he can have the fun of pitting one against the other in a battle to the death. In order to blackmail Superman to engage in this battle, Luther kidnaps Superman’s mother and threatens to kill her in a very unpleasant manner if Superman refuses to cooperate. Lex Luther is aware that Batman is Bruce Wayne and Superman is Clark Kent because, well what kind of an evil genius would he be if he couldn’t figure that out. The storyline for this mammoth 150 minute or so film was so involved that critics and audiences pretty much panned the film. I was not one of them. I loved Batman v. Superman and found the drawn-out story to be a plus. Just as he had in the comics some 15 years prior, Superman is killed in the end by a Kryptonian monster called Doomsday. Although everyone complained that Batman v. Superman was overlong, I preferred the Ultimate Edition that was released on Blu-Ray, which added an additional 20 minutes. Why? Because the added footage answered many questions and cleared up many murky plot points that were obscured by the over-editing of the theatrical version. Rather than too long, I felt that the film would have been much better had it been released to theatres in the longer version. While eagerly anticipating the sequel, we got to thrill to the origin story of Wonder Woman, Princess of the Amazons, in one of the best Super-Hero films ever made. Which brings us to the newest installment – Justice League. Convinced that an Earth-threatening menace is about to destroy the planet, Batman and Wonder Woman - I love that she is NEVER referred to in any of the scripts as Wonder Woman, she is simply Diana – decide to assemble a League of Super Heroes, by persuading Aqua Man, Cyborg and The Flash to join their forces. That much everyone knows, so that is where I will leave it. Suffice it to say that, hoping to avoid critic-bashing reminiscent of B v. S, the studio heads dictated that Justice League would not exceed two hours. Several scenes shown in previews of Justice League were abbreviated or eliminated to meet the time restriction. I am hoping for another “ultimate edition” that will include all the deleted scenes. Why? Because as a fan of the source material, why wouldn’t I want more? Speaking of fans of the source material, I would like to broach a subject that I have not seen addressed anywhere in reviews of films like this. I grew up in the 1960’s and was very much a fan of the DC Universe. Wonder Woman, Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, The Flash, Aqua-Man and other heroes of the DC Comic Books were my favorites. My best friend was a Marvel Fan. We spent hours good-naturedly arguing over whether The Hulk was a match for Green Lantern or if Wolverine could beat The Flash. Although we were rival fans, there was never anything mean about it. However, ever since “Super-Hero Movies” have become the rage, I see Marvel Fans actively spoiling for the demise of DC movies and DC fans wishing for the failure of the latest Marvel film. Go to any Amazon webpage of any of these films, and you will find fans of the “other” comics trashing the latest release. I just don’t understand that. So many Marvel fans, for instance, gleefully posted reviews warning viewers to stay away from B v. S, while on any Marvel movie page, you will find a DC fan or two tearing that apart. Why can’t people simply let others have their preference? For me, I have seen many Marvel films that I have enjoyed, while looking forward to the next DC release. I am content to let Marvel fans have their due, why do so many of them have to trash my favorite heroes? As far as I’m concerned, good Super-Hero films are always welcome, no matter what their source, and I wish people would stop acting like children.

I thoroughly enjoyed the story of how Bruce Wayne and Wonder Woman teamed up to recruit Aquaman, Cyborg and Flash -- while Superman was dead. Lots of ACTION, witty and funny moments, PLUS great special effects. Don't miss the added scenes in between the Credits (just like a Marvel movie)!!

I'm a big DC fan, so I enjoyed Justice League. Not a great movie, but it had it's moments. This steelbook packaging is very nice, so if you're a fan, pick it up. Not for the casual viewer, but for someone who loves DC and steelbooks it is a great buy.

Superman is dead! Aliens invade! Batman and Wonder Woman must recruit the next generation of heroes to combat a global threat, with Flash, Cyborg, and Aquaman joining the fight. And when all hope is lost, a hero more powerful than a locomotive arrives faster than a speeding bullet to save the day!

Decays High Expectations but still a good movie

So to start off, this movie was a rushed project in comparison to Marvel's Cinematic Universe where they are currently at 3-5 movies a year while DC is seemingly lucky to produce about 1 movie every other year. You will lack a deeper connection to the characters and ironically Superman for once is the most involved and interesting character of the League. For long time comic readers who aren't too caught up in being the hipster "boy scout" bashers, Superman coming out on top in the League is not only pleasing but refreshing. Batfleck is tolerated by most and where the argument has been with previous actors of "who is the better Bruce Wayne/Batman" I feel for once I must include the relevancy of Ben Affleck's commitment and effort to portray both characters to the best of his ability. The key for me to get over the hump of Batfleck is to identify that Affleck is fully engaged in delivering to the point he's seeking to shape the story line through having read and absorbed the source material. You don't have to love him but give someone credit where it's due. Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman is a welcome surprise to the world in general and if you're not a Wonder Woman fan yet this movie will at the very least present the horizon so you can reconsider your flat earther ways. As far as Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash... Aquaman as the Alpha/Omega personality was the perfect take and I really hope he becomes the unfriendly, demanding version in the future however currently he is much more humbled. Cyborg and The Flash were barely introduced and truthfully their dynamic isn't necessarily approached here where you have Speed and Intelligence playing send and return. Hopefully we'll get there but for now, much like this movie, you will brute your way through in hopes of a better dawn tomorrow. If you haven't read the 100+ issues of JLA Volume 3 then you are entirely missing out. Fully aware we are in this pseudo New 52 Era but I really do believe there will be many references to JLA Volume 3 as that is the JLA most of us readers in our 30's and 40's recognize, readers who can more easily afford to see movies all of the time as well as maintain an interest in them. While it would make more sense to remain with current comic events the fact is there is virtually not enough cast in the DC universe to execute anything significant. However JLA Volume 3 offers the most reasonable approach while also considering the current villain and anti-hero lineup. But why talk about all of this off handed stuff rather than the movie itself? This movie is more of an origin or signal of things to come. Unlike Marvel where they built up everything to Infinity War, DC made a good call to release Justice League and expand the cast as well as deliver a direction for the DC Cinematic Universe. You will want to be overly critical of it but honestly, don't do it. Watch it, digest it and play the role of the mindless youth eagerly awaiting the next releases.

I know this isn’t Avengers Endgame. Not even close. This deserved to be a much better movie. But honestly, I think people are a little too critical of it. I’ve watched this multiple times and enjoyed it every time. Just keep your expectations low, laugh a little, and have a fun time.

DC has been picking some good characters but as I understand no one but Jason Momoa and Gal Gadot want to come back. Why did they pick someone as old as Ben Affleck? He acts like he is already broken down anyway and the movie only proved it. Hey DC, let Marvel pick your characters instead of Sony

I don't know why a lot of people dislike this film so much, I thought it was great. The story was perhaps too simply, but it works as a 'set up' movie for a much larger franchise and universe. the audio quality is terrific, the video quality is eye popping. recommended to true fans of all things geeky.

Justice League is one of the best 4K movie transfers I’ve ever seen! There are no letterbox bars, the picture is amazing, HDR pops and the soundtrack is booming! Top 5 of the format in my humble opinion! If you want a reference disc to show off your home theater this is one to look for!

So DC's attempt to compete with Marvel's Avengers does fall short, but for DC it is a step forward. It is a nice step forward from Zack's dark and brooding movies to Joss's fun and humorous action packed movies. The chemistry between the team is really good.

I wish I could say this was a top notch film but it isn’t, too many production issues that botched what was going to be a great film. Despite its flaws it is fun and worth checking out if atleast for its action fun and some Batman and Flash humor

I enjoyed the movie, it was much better than Batman v Superman but of course wasn't perfect. Some of the FX was pretty bad but the story was ok. Love the steelbook packaging. It would be sad if Henry Cavil never gets to play Superman again since I thought he was perfect in the role.

Overall, Justice League is a horrible movie, but watching it on 4K makes up for it. Visually it looks good. Colors are vibrant, and blacks are deep. Get this just for that. And if you are steelbook collector like me, you'll have to put it in the collection anyway.

I saw this in the theater and decided to pick it up on Black Friday. The movie is a lot of fun and the chemistry between the actors is good but not at the Avengers level from the Marvel films. Still it is action packed and entertaining.

Movie is pretty good, so many characters, so little screen time for some. Maybe a slightly different story could have balanced the screen times better. Considering what Marvel has been doing with its movies, DC needs to step up some.
