Earbuds deliver good sound, not bells and whistles

Pros: - Comfortable, tight fit - Good full sound - PLUG N PLAY no app needed! (just connect to bluetooth) - decent passive noise cancelling - ambient sound option for conversations - good value for the price - battery life seems decent - small-ish case Cons: - inevitable “plugged ears” feeling and hear your voice/breath - physical buttons are hard to press and push into your ear - not a lot of info in the instructions - lights on case are not explained well GETTING STARTED: The thing about the JVC Marshmallow true wireless earbuds is that once you figure out how they work, they’re amazing. The trick is they take a little bit of a learning curve to fully understand. There’s not a ton of user friendly thought put into the design, but that’s ok, for a budget friendly true wireless set of buds, these JVC’s are still worth it. Here’s what I mean. The instructions are basically pictures and a few words telling you how to pair. They’re accurate and useful, but they can be a little confusing. Mostly because it’s a dance of removing from the case, put back in the case, take out of the case and looking at how many times the lights blink while you do this. It’s odd, but the reality is, all you have to do is take them out of the case, go to your phone's bluetooth settings, and you’ll see the buds there. You do have to pair BOTH buds, but once you do only one will show up in your bluetooth device list. So once you get them paired, a really nice feature is you DON’T have to download an app or agree to any terms to use them. They pair, then they work. That’s it. In a headphone world full of agreements and terms of service just to get some sound in your ears, it’s a nice change to just turn on and go. This does mean no custom settings or adjustments, but these buds work and sound good out of the box, so there’s really no need for that anyway. SOUND QUALITY: The sound is full and rich with a surprisingly decent low range, (thanks in part to the in ear design and foam fitting tips) and highs that aren’t muddled and indistinct from the mids. It’s a good sound for a 50 dollar pair of buds and JVC has always been a leader in sound quality, these are no exception. Will they sound as good as a 250+ dollar pair? No, of course not. But will the average person notice? No, probably not. There’s a difference in this pair of headphones and my more expensive pairs, but most of those cost more for the bells and whistles and not always the sound quality. FEATURES When it comes to features, there are not really a ton for these buds, but the few worth mentioning are the ambient sound setting, the ear tips, and the buttons. The ambient sound option is a nice feature to have when you need to quickly hear someone talking to you or want to hear your surroundings without taking the buds out. It’s worth noting though, this feature wouldn’t be good to leave on for long periods of time, it’s more for a quick conversation or listening to the subway stop announcement. The reason is, when activated, the feature turns the volume down and turns on the exterior mics and feeds them into the buds. This is effective, but not practical for long term listening to music. It also seems to have pulled out some of the lows and boosted the mids. This could have been an effect of the mics messing with my ears, but I didn’t like the quality of the audio when the feature was on so I turned it off unless I needed it. It’s easy enough to turn on, one quick tap of the right bud button, which is also nice. But what about those buttons? They’re not touch panels like more expensive buds, these are just good ol fashioned buttons. The issue I had while testing them out, was that the buttons are stiff/hard to push, and positioned on the flat outer side of the buds, not around the rim. So when I would push a button, I would also be shoving the bud deeper into my ear and causing some minor pain. A work around is to hold the buds with two other fingers and reduce some of the pressure, but mostly it’s just a poor design choice for button placement. Maybe over time they will loosen up and be easier to push, but for now, they don’t work great. In a pinch, sure, otherwise I’m just taking out my phone to make adjustments. For example, if you want to go back one track, you have to HOLD the left button for 1 second. The problem is, on most audio streaming apps, after 1 second, hitting the “previous track” button goes to the beginning of the track you are currently playing, not the previous one. This means you can get caught in a loop trying to go back one song and instead hearing the first 1.3 seconds of the same track over and over and over. A wiser choice would have been 3 taps of the button to go back a song The ear tips however are a very good feature of these buds and are the reason they are called “Marshmallow buds”. They really do feel like marshmallows and fit nicely like an earplug does. I wore these buds for a few days for multiple hours and had 0 discomfort. Something my tiny ear holes usually have to deal with all the time. The buds come with the mediums on but I switched to the small tips and was a bit more comfortable. JVC also includes the standard style tips in S M and L if you don’t like the marshmallow kind. However, you will get more passive noise cancelling with the foam tips then the standard ones. PASSIVE NOISE CANCELLING: Which is worth noting, the passive noise cancelling is actually really good. With the buds in and music playing at a low level, I could not hear the fans, or the conversations or rumble from the AC units around me almost at all. They’re not going to remove all background noise, but they will greatly reduce the noise and help block annoying, low volume sounds. The volume range is also very good. I’ve had buds and headphones in the past that I needed to crank almost to the top to get a “safe but loud” sound, however these JVC’s have a lot of room left to turn up after I reached the “this is too loud for my ear health” range. OVERALL: Overall I do like these JVC buds for what they are. A cheap alternative to expensive branded gimmick buds. They sound good, they work well, they have a good battery life and aren’t bulky or awkward. (case and buds). They have some shortcomings as all value priced items will, but if you’re ok with the cons I mentioned and just want a cheap, comfortable, good sounding true wireless earbuds, then you will be happy with these from JVC. They are simple, but they simply work. And they work well.

In the sub $50 category, these are really good headphones. No, you won't get audiophile quality, and they are a bit bulkier than a number of different wireless earbuds, but they are worth it. I docked a star because the battery life is slightly shorter than advertised at only about 8.5 hours, they can shift or pop out while working out- especially running, and they could use more bass. Call quality was good, everyone was able to hear me just fine.. Pairing to my phone and laptop was quick and painless. The build quality is high, you'd think they were a much more expensive set. To fit your ear they come with different sized tips to make a more custom fit. The onboard control can be a little difficult to operate until you get used to them. All in all decent set of earbuds

Today I am reviewing JVC’s True wireless Marshmallow in-ear headphones. These headphones come in pretty standard packaging, included inside is the charge box, decent quality, it gets the job done, and by job I mean it charges the headphones while you store them inside. These headphones also come with instructions but they were somewhat confusing to me, but OK I have plenty of experience reviewing wireless headphones so I paired them to my phone pretty easily, they fit a little wonky on my ear, not the most comfortable, and prone to fall off. But at the end of the day everything else could have been forgiven if these things sounded great, which they do not. They sound average at best and have zero bass to them, the sound that you do get sounds somewhat muffled and not very loud, pretty typical for headphones at this price range.

I have two different JVC models sitting in front of my computer and they are almost identical in performance. The Marshmallow is for casual use since it does not hook over the ear. Both pair easily and pair correctly every time you take them out of the charger case. This is the only brand that has consistent and reliable pairing for my use. The second you grab them from the charging box they are paired. Be advised the ear cushions are very ear canal specific. Be sure to check several sizes for a good fit. If you do not hear clear bass then you may need to change the cushions or insert them properly. BT is 5.1. Range is about the same for every BT device I have in the house tagged to me new Mid Tower Build. Range appears to be source dependent more than the receiver as my laptops have a greater range.

JVC has done a great job with these headphones as they are reliable and produce good quality sound. I especially love the overall look and design and feel. As a person who enjoys taking long walks, these provide great company and I am sure, I will get plenty of enjoyment out of wear from these.

The JCC HAA11T Marshmallow True Wireless Earbuds did fit into my ears very comfortably, and offered a "very nice" but not "great" sound quality. My recent prior true wireless earbud experience was with a model/brand that cost about 5 times more, and this definitely does not live up to the quality of that pair, but it's not bad for the price it is at. The initial pairing of the Bluetooth was easy - I took them off the charger, it powered on and announced it was in pairing mode, I paired on my device to them (it seemed to establish separate connections for each earbud), and - that's it, it worked right away. The memory foam does seem like it's more comfortable (and perhaps more durable) than some "rubber"-like earbuds I'm used to (one recent pair of another brand had the rubber tear on the earbuds). Combining that with the water resistance and I imagine this pair of earbuds will last a while. I noticed one thing that was a little different on these earbuds that I think I like -- There is no 'touch' interface on the earbuds, you physically need to 'click' a real button for them to perform an action (play/pause, voice assistant, volume, etc.). The problem I have with the 'touch sensitive' interfaces on other earbuds, is if I don't insert them just right, I've seen times where the touch area taps a part of my ear and (for example) pauses the audio. With these earbuds, it appears that won't be a difficulty. To be honest, if I were not receiving earbuds to evaluate, and I was looking to buy earbuds, either these or a pair like these (this price range) is likely where I would purchase, so yes, I can recommend these.

I lost my Apple earbuds and decided I didn’t want to spend $250 on a new pair. I trued these JVC and I am super impressed. The noise cancelling is surprising very good and I love their fit in my ear.

The JVC marshmallow headphones are a great product priced just right. They are easy to pair with my android phone and they have very good sound and enough volume to drown out unwanted sounds. With that being said, these are not noise canceling, however the 6 included "marshmellow" replaceable ear pieces tend to seal out unwanted noises. The ear pieces are easy to change and there are enough different sizes to fit about anyone's ear. These JVC earbuds are a great choice for anyone wanting quality sound without spending hundreds of dollars.

This is a great item and works as advertised with excellent noise cancellation. The only drawback is that one earphone seems to play louder than the other, but that could be due to something going on with my ear.

These earbuds have a hard time changing. They have to sit perfectly in the box in order to charge. Meaning that you can not have them in your pocket and expect them to charge. The earbud slips out of your ear and it will fall at least 5 times a day. The sound quality is good but the mic is really bad. JVC I expected better from you guys. Pay a little more and get the headphones that you want.

Bought these in store for 60 dollars, have to spend 30 minutes to an hour every time i have to reconnect my headphones to my pc. Dont claim they work with devices when they are unable to play sounds without being uninstalled and reinstalled to my pc over and over until it finally works right. Never buying from this brand again and i suggest you dont either.
