This is a very sleek designed movie server, combined with a Strato C movie player takes up about the same amount of space as a 4k DVD Player. This device is very simple to setup as it only has a power connection on the back and a ethernet port to hook to your home network. The compact terra provides with much faster download speeds allowing up to Gigabyte ethernet speeds to download a movie in 10 minutes. I have 60 mbps service and it takes roughly 3 hours to download a 4k movie. It also allows you to set your download speeds so you don't have to take up all of your bandwidth. Once you have everything setup and connected to your local network is when Kaleidescape really starts to shine as the user interface is incredibly simple to use and has some features included in it that are just outstanding. One of my favorite features is that Kaleidescape allows you to create movie scenes, this is very usefully if you want to do a quick demonstrate to some guests or if you have young children that want to just watch certain parts of the film. The movie store is also very well designed and easy to maneuver throughout to find the specific movies you are looking for. I was very leery when I purchased this system as it's pretty expensive and I had to purchase content to even be able to use it, the more I've used it the happier and better I have felt about owning this system. It by far blows away any movie I have ever streamed, the picture are always more crisp and sharp and the sound quality is incredibly more crisp and clear coming through as Kaleidescape movies are downloaded to the server and are not compressed to meet the standards or streaming services or have space restrictions like the physical discs do. I highly recommend taking a good look at this product if your looking to upgrade your home theater setup or just want the highest quality viewing experience you can get. I decided to buy this product because I wanted the high quality and experience that Kaleidescape brings and I have high hopes to one day build a dedicated theater room with the Kaleidescape being the device the drives the entire room.
