I read the reviews on a different website before purchasing this from Best Buy. They were not good, but I reluctanly purchased with an extended warranty which cost about $65 extra. Figure that into the total cost and I was at about $300. I bought it because of limited amount of space. It arrived damaged, but it came in very late after dark and I first did not see the damage. I took it out of the flimsy cardboard box with minimal, I mean very mininal packing, plugged it in and it worked fine. The following morning I took a closer look at it and saw the left rear corner was mashed in, and the left front door corner was also damaged. this all began to make sense to me after I took a closer look at the packaging. The cardboard that was used was cheap flimsy cardboard, there had been a couple of pieces of styrofaom thrown in and that was it. so it kind of made sense. One of the previous reviews was the fan was loud. I would say the fan was no more loud than the one of my primary refrigerator which is fairly new. But is that acceptable for a small appliance like this, not sure. The controls for this unit are on the door with I liked., except for the interior light which is inside? What is up with that. It was like putting an interior light in it was an after thought and they threw in a manual switch at the last moment. When I prepared it for return to BB, I took a closer look at the materials and construction of this unit. The water catcher on the back was not properly attached, not sure if that would have made a difference after the unit had run for a while. However according to other reviews the unit does not run long. In any event I returned this to BB because of the damage and luckily they did not have another one available at the time. I eventuall did find another at BB, Vinotemp Model: VT-18TEDS, so far so good. Of course no problem with returning the old one with BB, they were great!

We purchased this for my son for Christmas. Arrived on time & great condition. He loves the cooler. Great for home use.
