Good product but does not support Apple SuperDrive

Purchased to use with Apple SuperDrive for MacBook Pro with retina as power specifications made device appear to be compatible. However, it would not support the SuperDrive. As powered from wall and not computer, external hard drives may stay on all the time, even when computer is shut down. Would only recommend if using with flash drives or mobile devices.
