This is my first review, and I felt after reading a bunch of reviews from people who seem biased on products, this should be my first to start out with. I am pretty good with computers/electronics, not the best, but pretty good. Now, I am 16 years old, and am finishing my 10th grade year(Sophomore year of HS with a 3.59 GPA). Now, this AV/IS package is the best I've really used. Norton can't compare, and AVG has a few things KS has, but not many, just a FEW. With IS, you can go into your firewall and you can see everything that is being blocked/allowed, you can add a million things to be blocked and allowed(advanced users only recommended), you have the option to turn an Ad/Banner blocker On/Off which I really love and is a great feature for any web browser to eliminate those flashy/blinky banners and ads, and any pop-over-screen ones also. For the price of this program, this is practically free. I would pay $150 for this program in all honesty, that's how much it's worth. When you scan the computer, not only does it looked for any kind of virus, trojan, malware, adware, etc., it will also look for any loop-holes in non-updated software, and you just right click on it, look at the solution site, and it will tell you where to go and what to download to fix it. This is easily the best program you can buy.

Someone that has a degree in computers had told me that one of the best systems is Kaspersky. He told me to use a trial version first. When i tried the trial version off kaspersky.com it wouldn't allow me to use Norton. I had to get ride of Norton which bothered me a lot. Kaspersky works great, its the only security systems I will use while using Lime Wire. If you're concerned about some of the reviews go to the website and try out a trial to see if you like it or not so you don't end up wasting money. Make sure its actually Kaspersky so you don't end up downloading a virus instead

I have to say, I am greatly impressed with this anti-virus. I have had my run-ins with other top name anti-viruses, but this one dominates over all others. It is so simple to use, it's all it one protection, protects against virtually everything that is or can be harmful, scans programs before installing to make sure its safe, it blocks those annoying banners, and much more. It has an hourly update setting too, which I haven't seen on any other anti-virus. I installed it on a Pentium 4 2.93 w/ 1.7gb of RAM any I haven't seen any decrease in performance even when the program is updating. And it requires much less specifications and HDD space to use. It is definitely worth every penny.

I caught a virus on my machine. Was using Iolo Antivirus at the time. Did not detect. I had an old Norton disk laying around, so I uninstalled Iolo and re-activated Norton. No fix. So far had spent about 4 hours trying to eradicate this particular virus. Did some research and everything I found pointed to Kaspersky. I downloaded the trial version of Kaspersky Internet Security 2008 (the latest at the time) and it FOUND AND KILLED THE VIRUS IN LESS THAN 5 MINUTES! Plus it found a kazillion other problems (adware, spyware, etc) I didn't even KNOW I had! I told my in laws about it and they went in on it with me, as you can use it on up to 3 separate machines, another plus. When my license key expired, I did not hesitate to buy Kaspersky Internet Security 2009. I have NEVER had ANY trouble with it. The folks who reported monitor problems, system crashes, etc, must have some other issue going on as I have NEVER EVER nor have my in laws ever had a problem. I am a Kaspersky customer for LIFE! As for those who are put off by the price, remember you get what you pay for! And you can share it on up to 3 machines, so go in on it with friends or family like I did. That's less than $30 per machine for a full year of protection, which is actually quite a bargain!

Never before have I felt compelled to write a review...for anything! However, this software is fantastic. I ordered a hard copy through the mail when my previous anti-virus software failed me and I became completely infected. Even with my freezing up, pop-up ridden, virus-dominated computer, I was able to quickly and easily install the program. Although it wasn't able to completely rid my computer of viruses/trojans initially, it certainly made a huge difference. I could at least use my computer. The viruses that it was unable to remove are viruses that exhibit malicious qualities, but haven't been identified yet. In other words, new viruses. However, the best thing about this software is that you can contact the company's professionals (I did through their website's message board), and they will give you customized, easy, and clear step by step instructions to manually remove these new viruses that don't have a quick fix yet. They are endlessly helpful and now my computer is running faster than ever! And not a thing has gotten by the program since! Hallelujah!

The antivirus can be installed in 3 computers... it can be installed either from the CD or by downloading it directly from the kaspersy webpage and activate it with the CD key provided with the CD (the second option is really usefull if your computer lacks DVD/CD drive e.g., a netbook).... it sounds stupid, but you CAN´T do that with Norton internet security. I also installed this on a regular laptop with vista and its really good, it doesn´t chew up system resources as other antivirus do. No problems with Vista and no problems with windows XP. Besides being "light" with system resourses it is also a great antivirus, it detects lots of viruses, trojans, and phishing sites that try to steal info from you or to take your computer.

Just an amazing software. Definitely worth the money. Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 can detect and REMOVE the toughest of malware, not just the easy stuff. It now has IPS, which categorizes known files and unknown and rates their behavior, making it drastically improve detection of brand new unknown malware. Possibly one of the best things about it is the integrated tools. Say you have malware that's removed, but it has damaged your settings, or disabled you from using Task manager, it has built in tools that removes all restrictions and damage malware may have done. It also has an AVZ tool built in, so say it missed some malware(very rare), you can contact live chat support which is free and VERY fast, and they will write you a script to remove the malware from your computer, when at the same time they are now adding protection against those newly discovered malicious files. The Antispam NEVER missmarks any mail on default settings after creating a whitelist of your friends and familys emails. Blocks all the spam, and lets in the mail that you want. And for parents this is great too, as its parental controls work perfectly on blocking my kids from you know what, and lets me view what sites it blocked them from and what it allowed. And its Firewall is fantastic, it is clearly much better then the standard windows firewall, it will block every network attack keeping you safe, and once in a while I get to see it in action blocking a Helkern attack, which my windows firewall missed completely. All in all, this is the clear choice for a security suite, I will never go near a Symantec (Norton) product again after being so blown away with this cutting edge technology security suite!

Bought software, installed it with know problems until the computer monitor went blank. I had to restart my computer to get it back as it happened twice in a 10 minute time frame. It also causes mouse problems with right clicking. This product still has a long way to go from a protection and functionality standpoint. You are better off buying Trend Micro Internet Security Pro. Excellent features and reliable software. Their support when you call is excellent. Those reviews and best Internet Security software sites that recommend software is a buyer beware risk factor as I read such great things about Kaspersky but only to be very disappointed after buying it.

I switched to this from CA Internet Security Suite, which I've had the past two years. I switched because, without going into exact details, of their unupdated web site and poor customer service for their promotions and rebates. I've also in the past used Norton, PC-Cillin, and McAfee. This beats all of them, hands down. It uses fewer system resources than any of the others (I used to think CA's used few resources, but my two older computers fly with this software compared to the CA software). It can be complicated for the novice user, but really after going through all the settings I only changed one or two settings from the defaults. So for the novice user, if you keep everything on the default settings you will be fine. I love that it has a "proactive" detection system built-in (ie: it can catch viruses not in its definitions file). The price is only OK if you pay the regualr price, but I got mine in sale. I have three computers and it can be used on three, so that is perfect for me. It catches things other programs don't and you can set it to do automatic scans whenever you want (this in addition to the always-on real-time protection). Some people have said they have problems with its compatability with their computer, but it works fine on my Windows XP (32 bit) four year old custom-built desktop, as well as my two years old 32-bit XP Gateway laptop, and my two week old Vista 64-bit Toshiba laptop. There are very few negatives with this software, and it is certainly the best I've used (I've also heard good things about NOD32, but I haven't used that and got this instead because it can be used on three computers and NOD can only be used on one). I highly recommend it, especially if you can get it on sale.

I have to say, this is the best Internet Security Suite I have ever used. It uses minimum resources when in use. Unlike Norton or McAfee that tie up your CPU. In fact, This has caught stuff the others missed. I'm not kidding! I bought the computer 3-pack. I installed it on my computer and two other computers I built for friends. I split the cost between us. Just an idea! ;-) You will notice, at first this will run what seems to be slow. But think of it this way. You avoid the dentist for a while and collect all that stuff on your teeth. You finally start your checkups and cleaning again and they have to do all that scraping and probing to get your mouth healthy again. That is the way this is at first. The initial install doesn't take long, but then it needs to update the files and virus definitions. That will take a few. Then depending how bad and large your HDD is, the first scan will take a while too. Then you have all the program permissions every time you "first" use the program under Kaspersky's protection. Once you set it to allow this program to run, then that is the last time it will pop up for the program.. I recommend setting it to update every hour. And scan at a time when you wont be at the comp. like early in the morning. Kapsersky does a good job with staying up to date. You will not regret this buy! Look out for the package deals Best Buy put outs with this. I bought this for $39 with Taxcut. The normal price was $79 at the time. BUY IT! Or at least try it out for free. I plan on getting 2010 when this expires in February.

this is a great product. experts may like it cause you can customize it but noobs also will like it to because preinstalled features are good too. i had norton, mcafee, and trend and they all suck compared to this. dont be affraid to spend this amount it is worth it. also it protects all 3 of my computers really well. also if you download things this is good to kepp a eye on what you want and dont want. high recommanded.

I have tried a lot of different security packages over the years, but none of them stack up to this. I have this installed on 11 computers, so i have found this program to be worth footing the bill 4 times. Not once has this let me down. It is always updated with the most current databases and never misses a thing. I have caught brute force network attacks, countless viruses/spyware/malware, and nothing gets through without my ok. The setup isn't that bad, but configuring beyond that is not for the faint of heart. This software excels in giving you choices. That is the biggest turn off for most novice users, but be not afraid... Best buy does offer to install/configure this for you. That too is worth the little bit of extra money if you are not familiar with the inner workings of this type of software. I give this a 5/5 b/c it is the first security package that hasnt bogged down my computers, and it does the job right the first time.

I bought a TOSHIBA laptop w/60 days trial version of Norton 360 version 2. One week before it expire i was thinking to renew Norton, but so many negatives so i decided to get KIS 2009, there are negative review for this but only few. So i bought KIS 2009 and im happy for this purchase, this is so easy to install and after the installation ive notice my computer boot and ran more faster than w/ the Norton. In a website i always visit theres a banner/add that irritates me, i thought it was normal on that site bcos im not familiar on what viruses are. But after i installed KIS 2009, that irritating banner/adds was no longer there, KIS get rid of it. Bottom line Norton cant get rid of all this threat and viruses, only KIS 2009. Those who give negative reviews for this are people who's not following the installation guide. Even im a novice, im able to install KIS on my computer w/o any huzzle, just follow the installation guide and you will be fine. This is really a very good software. Highly recommended.

They may give you the impression that you are gonna get all the security needed for your computer compare to other great software PLUS they add that you can get technical support by phone which to me was the buying point because I always want to make sure I got my installed OK. In this case it is so untrue, There is not such a 1-800 number, your only option to communicate is in Chat Live where they work only from 9am until about 8pm, but then again you have to wait in queue wish most likely you are gonna wait for at least about an hour, and then they are gonna tell you to do all these step-by-step process which need to be done on your computer so you will have to do those after you talk to them and if you get stuck than here you are again in the same position. Oh! they will want you to e-mail them the result back, which in my case took about 6 days to have her reply to me and I still don't know what she want me to do this time. The only thing I want is my $79.99 money back guaranty. Hopefully I can get it so I can buy me a new program. What a waste of money want you don't have it to start with... But I have to protect my computer.

After getting a virus, I wanted the best protection possible. After doing research, I discovered Kaspersky. This is a product you can trust to keep you safe from all kinds of attacks. I like that they have hourly updates and my system doesnt slow down. Thumbs up!

I am shocked as I just paid $80 for this at Best Buy today. I decided to read reviews prior to opening and wow, I way over paid! I'll be calling them in the am. For a company that backs up pricing, it's odd to me that their own mothership would be advertising for less and even offer the site to store pick up option. We'll keep the product, since the reviews were positive, but for sure I'll be getting my $40 off!

I had installation problems but that was because I had not completely uninstall my previous AV protection. KIS customer was excellent to get me through the process though. It is a bit spendy but it was on sale so I couldn't pass it up.

I bought Kaspersky Internet Security 08 a year ago and it's been great. I went looking for the best, and I can tell you I've had no issues. I've been dissapointed with Norton and McCaffey in years past. This product has stopped every virus and spyware that's come across it. The user interface is a little more technical than Norton was, and so it took some getting used to. But its been worth it. I was a little concerned about the upfront cost, but I'm renewing my subscription through them at a great savings. Free upgrade to the current year product and 2 yrs service for only $80! What's really nice is that it can be installed on up to 3 computers. Or in my case, when my hard drive crashed and was replaced, re-installation was a snap. I don't think I'll use another security provider again! Great product.

First off this program runs very light you hardly know it's running. But it packs powrful protection that others don't offer. I'm very pleased with this product. Fixes are easy it gives you the links to go to. A best buy associate recomended this program as beeing better then the rest he was right. I've had conflict problems with other virus scans that made me nuts and I hated having to shut them off just to play a game! This one nothing no problems at all.

I must be doing something wrong: I had no difficulty installing it on my HP (even with Vista) and no complaints since. I like that it works in the background. I'm tired of the software that pops up every two minutes to tell me what a splendid job it's doing; Kapersky just does the job "quietly."
