New Version of the Original Katamari Damacy 塊魂

This is a remaster / remake of the original PS2 game "Katamari Damacy" (塊魂). This game has a lot of good stages, and lots of good music. It is basically unchanged from the original version. The sequel, "We Love Katamari," is kind of better in every way though. This one is more arcadey, so you will be fighting against a clock in almost every stage. Also, if you are not used to 3D cameras, or if they have made you nauseous in other games, the rolling spinning of this game might make you feel sick.

An outstanding game with an awesome soundtrack accompanying your mission to collect as many items as you can into your katamari. Just a fun wacky game that anyone and everyone should experience!

As a fan of the original game that came on PS2 back in 2004, this remastered version was exactly the amount of nostalgia I needed. The game plays the same, it feels the same and it just looks better. My ears and heart about melted when I heard the first notes on the intro and when starting new stages. The game started as $20 title, which is a fair price for a remaster, but you can probably get it at around $10 if you wait a couple of months. Of course, if you want more of the same, support and buy it now. I'm sure people that have never played this game would get a kick out it. This many years later, this game can still capture anyone's imagination.

Absolutely loved Katamari Damacy for the PS3. I was so excited that it was released for the PS4! Oddly enough it seems an easier play on the PS4. The music and graphics are odd and wonderful. Truly one of my most favorite games!

This game is a blast. It's a lot of fun to roll things up to create big planets. It's got a great art style and simple controls, perfect for anyone of any age.

If you’ve ever played the Katamari games, you know exactly what to expect from this remaster. Roll around, pick up small items, grow larger in size, pick up larger items to continue growing all while dodging obstacles. It’s a great distraction game that requires little to no effort to learn but a while to master. Some of the mechanics and camera angles are clunky compared to other “driving” games so it can be frustrating at times but still very much worth a play through.

This is the same game as from the PS2. No major changes or updates that I can find other than changing some of the words/items on screen to a match the PS4 controller vs the PS2 DualShock 2. Does the game hold up well? Depends. It’s the same game and very fun to play if you love mindless games and the katamari series. If you don’t care for the other games in the franchise than this is not for you. I mainly bought it so I could play it again since my PS2 is dead.

Ok, I gotta say this is one of the weirdest games I’ve ever played. But, it is totally one of the best. It’s very quirky and you basically roll stuff into a ball and fire it off into space. The music is fun and the goofiness reminds me of the first little big planet. So if you like weird goofy stuff and don’t mind some unique gameplay this remaster of the old ps2 game is great.

Amazing remaster of what was a game I cherished in my childhood. It’s exactly like the ps2 version. I wish they would remaster the other games in the series but this is a good start.
