Keurig has become synonym for easy coffee making and this model is no different. Although it is designed for single-serve cups, it does have a large water reservoir allowing you to brew up to 5 times without refilling it. Having come from a family of Brazilians who love their coffee brewed very strong, this is the closest that I have tasted from an automated brewer. My wife although born and raised in the U.S. without any ties to Brazil other than 3 years she lived there loves the same type of brewing and she is very happy with this coffee maker. It turns itself off after two hours which is a nice feature for somebody like me who is always wondering whether appliances have been turned off since last use. Bear in mind that although it is automated, it is not programmable which means you cannot schedule it to make your coffee before you leave bed in the morning. If you need something like that, my recommendation is that you buy a more expensive model. Otherwise, this is perfect for quick and easy coffeee making. It has a good design but it doesn't really stand out. For me, practicality is what counts and it delivers. The fact that it doesn't tie me to a specific brand of coffee is a big plus. It has no wow factor but it does not disappoint.

While I would not describe myself as an avid coffee or hot beverage drinker, I do enjoy the occasional cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate. Since I don't brew coffee often myself, I don't often act on any impulses to have these beverages - UNTIL NOW! I am very impressed at the simplicity of the Kuerig brewing system. It is SO simple to use and produces a consistently good beverage. The machine is very straightforward and intuitive, and the assortment of available pods provide a plethora of options that keep me coming back for more! There is no question for me that I will be consuming more hot beverages now that I have this appliance in my kitchen. It looks great on the counter too! I am happy to strongly recommend this to anyone who enjoys hot beverages. The single serve paradigm helps ensure you don't let any go to waste!

I have used Keurigs before, but never owned one until now. It works as I expected it to, brewing a great cup of coffee. Set up was quick and easy, ready to use in about 10mins after cleaning and preparing the filter. I made several cups of coffee and hot chocolate in the first day, all turned out perfectly. The water reservoir on the side makes it convenient to brew several cups in a row. I like the cup size buttons as well as the button to make the coffee stronger, if you are inclined to like a stronger cup of joe. This Keurig is easy to figure out and love that it come with some pods to use and sample some different coffee. Overall happy with this Keurig and enjoying saving money not going out for coffee.

    Good basic machine

I've used and owned several Keurig's over the years. This one is basic, it doesn't have the touchscreen like the 2.0 series, but instead has a series of buttons to let you choose the size and strength of the brew. I found it to be a an easy to work machine that makes a nice hot cup of coffee. The reservoir is a bit small and you may find you're filling it up more than you like, but it does make a really good cup. It also doesn't pre-heat the water. This can be good or bad depending on your view point. On the down side, it take longer to brew a cup, and the brewing doesn't start until the water starts heating. On the up side, the coffee seems to be hotter than some of the other Keurig's I've tried. It also saves energy by not keeping the water hot and ready to go. Nice machine without a lot of bells and whistles. If you just want a no fuss Kuerig, this is a good choice for you.

Normally I associate Keurig with needing a cup of coffee in a hurry and that is what you get. Rather than brewing an entire pot so you can have a good cup on your way to work I simply drop a pod in and within a minute I have a great tasting cup of coffee. You can easily change the strength of your cup so it's no longer one size fits all. It has a nice footprint so it won't consume a large amount of your counter space. In the past I would only use my Keurig when I only had time or needed a single cup of coffee. Now I may brew several cups in a row. No waste of brewing too much coffee!

    K-select coffee maker

This K-select coffee maker is more compact than the one I replaced which is nice. However the slimmer design made the tank smaller and more difficult to fill and the tank lid is not hinged but sets loose on top. Overall this unit makes good coffee and is easy to clean.

The Keurig K-Select is the brands latest entry in their classic single serve brewer line. The K-Select brewer has four brew sizes to choose from, including the larger 12oz mug size. It has a 52 oz water reservoir which allows for five cups of coffee before needing refilled, it has an indent making it easy to handle and includes a charcoal filter to help remove bad tastes from tap water. The box also includes 6 sample pods to get you started and introduce you to their products. If you’ve ever used a Keurig, you already know how to brew a cup of coffee with this machine. Lift the handle, put a K-cup in the chamber, close the handle and push the button appropriate for the cup size desired. The difference with this model is that you no longer have to wait for the water to heat up prior to selecting your brew size, simply push the power button, load the K-cup and push your size. The water heats then makes the brew. The next difference with this model is the “Strong Brew” button. Pressing this button slows the brew cycle allowing the water to mingle with the coffee longer to make the brew stronger. For a 12 oz mug, it changes the brew time from just under one minute to approximately one minute 50 seconds. I don't know if I’m on board with this using K-Cups pods but find it does make a stronger brew using refillable pods and works well allowing a finer (espresso) grind coffee. The machine has an auto-off feature but does not have an auto-on timer, though it really doesn't need it due to the changes noted above. Pros: Strong Brew button New push to start Included water filter Easy to handle water container Compact size Variety of K-Cup pods available Convenience Works with refillable pods Cons: K-Cup pods still use plastic and are a pain to recycle. The cost of convenience - K-Cup pods can be expensive. (refillable pods solve both of these concerns) I recommend the Keurig K-Select classic brewer for anyone looking to make their first jump into the Keurig
