When the original Keurig came out I bought it and have had no problems since then. So when I got this item I expected it to be the same. And I am happy to say that it is. I have had no problems with it, setup was easy, and it works just like it should all the time. You can get a little bit more water in it than the original and you get four cup sizes instead of three. Additionally, it also has a filter unlike the original. Otherwise, it is pretty much the same. I definitely recommend it.

Makes a very good cup of coffee. Used to a press, so not as strong, but still works for me. Easy to use. Coffee is hot. Overall, very happy with the machine.

    Keurig is like VHS

I really don't know how Keurig has become the de facto coffee standard. Tassimo is a far superior product with better tasting coffee, but Keurig has won out somehow. Kind of like VHS vs Betamax I guess. Betamax was a superior product, but we got stuck with VHS. We have a Bosch Tassimo and have had it since 2010. It's a fantastic machine and 10 years on it still works like a charm every time. It has a large normal shaped water tank that you can get probably 8 or more cups of coffee out of and the tank has a handle for easy carrying. It has good strong flavorful tasting coffee brands, even the "bland" stuff tastes like coffee. They also vacuum seal the pucks to help keep them strong and fresh. I love busting open those bags and having that fresh coffee isle at the grocery store smell hit me in the face. The Tassimo also has no warm up, it makes your coffee fast from turning it on to pressing the brew button, it always works, every time. It is a great machine that I'm loathe to replace, but it is getting very hard to find coffee for it since Keurig is taking over the market (at least where I live). Since Keurig coffee is all over and easy to find, for Christmas I used my credit card reward points and took the Keurig plunge on this unit for us, with Best Buy fulfilling the order. So far, color me most unimpressed with the Keurig. The water tank is stupid small, you can only get about three 10oz cups of coffee out of it if you're lucky, and it's weird shaped and awkward as hell to hang onto. The top of the tank is also angled so you have to tilt it while you carry it or it spills while walking it to the machine. The machine also takes a few minutes to heat the water before it can brew the first cup. It has also been glitchy, like suddenly shutting off the selected brew mode just before brewing and you have to reset your brew mode, or completely shutting itself off mid brew, and you have to turn it back on and restart brewing. I've also had Keurig coffee a few times before and it has always tasted watered down and weak compared to Tassimo coffee. Another reason I was reluctant to take the plunge. So the first thing we did was look up the best tasting strongest coffees made for Keurig machines, and went and picked some up. Again, not impressed. Keurig's "bold" coffees are about on par with Tassimo's breakfast blends. Pretty much the only thing that I would say is a pro on this machine is the brew size choices. It is nice being able to select sizes and do two 8oz brews (using 2 pucks so you know that’s not why it tastes watered down) and have it fit my 16oz to go coffee mug perfectly. That is this machine's lone shining star. Okay, it is aesthetically pleasing to the eye too, so we'll give it 2 stars. At least I got it with reward points vs buying it outright. I might have to relegate the Keurig to our camper and just start ordering Tassimo coffee online or something. *sigh*

I've really enjoy my Keurig coffee maker at home and was looking for a second machine for the office. This model makes a great cup of joe and is even easier to use than my one at home. What I really like about this model is that you can put in your K-Cup and select your brew WHILE IT IS HEATING UP. For my older Keurig at home, I need to switch it on and then wait 3-5 minutes for it to warm up before I can do anything. That is not a problem with this model: 1. Switch it on and place your mug underneath 2. Put in a K-cup while it's warming up 3. Press the button for the size you want. It will automatically start brewing when the warm up process finishes. I can go answer some emails and when I return a few minutes later, my coffee is hot and waiting in my mug. The one downside is that there is no clock on this model, so it will not automatically turn itself on in the morning. But since I don't need to wait for it to warm up, that's really not an issue for me. This brewer supports the following sizes: 12 oz, 10 oz, 8 oz and 6 oz. There is also a "Strong" option button that -- as you probably guessed -- makes a stronger and bolder brew. Overall, this is very nice and easy-to-use Keurig machine. If you like simplicity and don't need Wifi in your coffee maker, this K-SELECT model is for you.

    Keurig with a twist

By now, most of us coffee drinkers are pretty familiar with the Keurig machines, if you don't own one, you've used it at the office, car dealership while you wait for service, etc. And there's not much different with this one. It's on the lower end of the Keurig line, lacking the LCD screen and polished look of the higher end models. There is one significant difference to Keurigs of the past, and that's the addition of a "strong" button. Up till now, those who prefer a stronger brew would be forced to select a smaller cup size; or else use multiple pods to create their preferred brew. The machine achieves this by lengthening the brew time, allowing the water to soak in the grinds for a longer time. This is called "extraction", and you can Google the term to read a wealth of information. It can get very complex, and has to due with volume, water temperature, and time. To summarize though, from what I've learned, this can lead to over-extraction, lending a burnt or bitter taste to the brew. If you've been shopping and have seen the Ninja line of machines, they have a similar function which they call "rich brew." Who came up with the idea of this button first, I don't know, but it gives you options. The other feature on this unit that's different from the past is "Smart Start." Those of you that have a Keurig know that after you turn the unit on, you first wait for the water to heat; then you can select cup size and brew. Now that's been rolled into a single function, you can turn the machine on, insert your pd, select brew, and walk away. Bit of a time saver on those hectic mornings. Overall, it's been a good performer, personally, I would prefer a higher end machine, and miss the LCD, but if you're not looking to spend the $$, the K80 is a solid choice.

This coffee maker has been great. Works as it should every time. Easy to use and set up. Only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 stars is that I wish it made the coffee hotter. It is hot. Just not as hot as I would like.

The Keurig K-Select is sleek attractive coffee maker that fits well on my kitchen counter. It works flawlessly and makes a great cup of coffee. It should be noted that the brewing temperature cannot be modified as was able with past older Keurig machines. The coffee brews at a lower temperature but still able to make a tasteful cup of joe.

I always want to love Keurig because they make having just a single cup of coffee so much easier. That being said, I've been left disappointed by Keurigs in the past. Weak coffee, not enough coffee in the cup, etc. have all been problems. I was pretty happy with the cup of coffee I had from this machine this morning though. It was not weak and while it didn't fill my car mug as much as I might have liked, it wasn't bad. My coffee was actually a little bitter (even with some cream), but that obviously could have been the coffee and not the Keurig itself. Looking forward to trying some different kinds/brands of coffee to see if I like those better. I also tried a Swissmiss hot chocolate. That was disappointing for two reasons: 1) It was too watery, in hindsight, should have gone one size smaller on the cup 2) The water didn't taste good (it was supposed to be filtered by the included Keurig filter). The filter seems like a great idea, but it didn't actually do anything. My tap water tasted like tap water. This was not one of the super fancy Keurigs, no touch screen or anything. It is incredibly simple operate. Fill with water, hit the power button (water starts heating automatically), add a K-pod, choose Strong if you like a strong cup of coffee, pick a mug size (it actually has an extra large setting for car mugs), and let it do it's thing. I still don't think I get as good a cup of coffee as I do with my regular coffee maker, but this is so much quicker to use. I'm hoping that I can find a good K-cup that I really like for a better cup of coffee with future uses.

What can I say it's a keurig. First off the machine looks nice and stylish on my countertop. I like that it is not too big looking like my previous coffee machine. I also like the fact that it is a single serve and that I don't have to make a whole pot or have any left over. I can just have it brewed into my favorite cup.

This is my third Keurig unit and I must say these are fantastic. The other units I have are much bigger and I use them in my kitchen and my office at work. My wife likes to wake up and have her first cup of coffee in bed and since the other two units are larger, this one fit perfectly in the sitting room in our bedroom. After completely washing the unit and its parts, it was pretty easy to setup. It even came with a sample pack of K-cups to try out. This works great for us as my wife likes her coffee a lot stronger than I do and we can adjust the strength on top of the unit. It also beats making a pot of coffee that will most likely go to waste based on our separate tastes. If I'm in the mood for hot cocoa or tea and she wants some coffee, we can both get what we want. I'm definitely a fan of Keurig although some of their devices are a bit on the pricey side, I prefer them for the convenience. There are multiple suppliers of K-cups that you can buy and you can also buy an adapter that lets you use regular coffee grounds as opposed to buying K-cups. I would definitely recommend this unit.
