This is a little bit more labor intensive to install than the actual Wyze Lock on the door and I highly recommend mapping out where you want to install it before you dig in but once it's up it is low profile and SUPER easy to use. When I started the installation, I had not planned where I was going to put it and after looking at the siding and brick work on my house, I determined that using one of the posts on the porch would be easier on the installation process and just as convenient for my family and any future guests. Once I got the back plate securely screwed into the right place the rest of the set up was super easy, just follow the app directions and you'll be all set. The one direction that I don't remember seeing, which caused a user error on my part, is that when you are using the keypad, all you have to do is press the lock button to lock the door... your passcode is only necessary for the unlocking of the door. I did not understand this at first and struggled a bit, but it was strictly a user error that I was able to overcome after a bit of personal embarrassment.

    Must-have Accessory for Wyze Lock

The Wyze Keypad is an amazing accessory for anyone who has or uses a Wyze Lock. Firstly, it allows you to set a variety of codes to be used without needing to have a smartphone nearby. Just walk up to the door and enter the code. Secondly, the backlit keys surprised me. It provides a convenient way to see the keys when you start pressing in dimly lit doorways. The red and green lights of the backlight is helpful to know when you've entered a code correctly or not. To be clear though, you have to start pressing for the keys to light up. Makes sense though as the device is powered by AA batteries, so you need to conserve energy. Mounting is simple as it comes with a backplate you screw into a wall or door frame. This is supposedly weatherproof to some degree, but I'm not one to test out its water proofing or anything. My doorway is covered, so I'm sure it'll be good for a while. If you have a Wyze Lock, this is a super convenient accessory to allow others to easily access your door without an app. At the price, it's a no-brainer.

I love the idea it separate keypad from the smartlock. I put my keypad in small compartment box next to my door so no one can see my combination when I key in. It lights up when I pressed the keypad so I can see the numbers at night

If you're getting a smart lock (and you should) and you go with Wyze (also a great choice), then you should get this too. This discrete keypad gives you control of your smart lock without the need for a phone. It's a great way to give access for a house-sitter, neighbor, house-guest, or relative. There are a few things I really love about this product. 1. Discrete mounting. There's not much more obnoxious than an ugly smart lock on the exterior of your house. This addresses that by being mountable pretty much anywhere. I mounted it between a storm door and an exterior door, right on the frame of the door. Looking at my front porch, there is no visible evidence that you could get in with a code. Set up only took a couple of minutes. 2. The code system makes sense. You can create guest codes with one of four different modes: Always, Recurring, Temporary, or one-time. Recurring allows you to set specific days of the week and times. Temp allows you to create codes that only work in a specific date and time range. All this is set up through the Wyze app and is easy to use and manage. 3. The app reporting. The app shows who unlocked with a code and when. You can configure push notifications as well so you'll know when a door was opened.

Must have addition to Wyze smart lock

This keypad for the Wyze wifi smart lock is definitely a must have addition to the lock. Set up and lock integration is easy through the app and you can easily make and change you code through there as well. You can make several different accessories code which works great if you have a dog walker, and air B&B, or need to let a neighbor in while you're not home and then you'll be notified when that code was used to enter your house. The keypad like the lock itself is battery powered with the battery level shown in the app. The unit pops off its mount very easy to change the batteries. As I mentioned in my review of the Wyze wifi smart lock, the keypad is another way you can use to unlock and lock the door when you are not using the auto lock feature or location based feature, and don't feel like pulling your phone out to unlock with the app or don't have your physical key handy to use that. SO many options for locking and unlocking and all are tracked. the keypad seems well made to stand up to outdoor elements and fashionably matches my brushed nickel door handle and lock. Definitely a great add on for the Wyze smart lock!
