I previously owned the Kicker 10" CompVR for the last 2 years, however, it blew out and I was forced to get another one. Luckily, my 2-year Geek Squad warranty had a 1 month remaining, so talk about good timing. This 10" CompR is the next in line, replacing the VR. The subs were the same price, so there no problem as far as getting a replacement was concerned. I also bought a 4-year protection plan for about $25, so again, not a bad deal. With car audio, I highly recommend purchasing these plans, especially for subs. Id' say it's just as good as my blown 10" CompVR, but I've only had for about a month or so. I'm going easy on it right now (playing the volume about 3/4 of where I normally set it) to give it a proper break in. Not entirely sure if that's needed, but I've heard yes and no from multiple people - better safe than sorry. It performs well with multiple genres of music (Metal, Rap, Rock, Pop, etc...), as I do like a bit of variety when it comes to my music. If you're unsure about which sub/brand to go with, I'd highly recommend checking out Kicker. There just doesn't seem to be a better brand at Best Buy.

This sub isn't going to be extremely loud, but it sure is clear. The best part is the wide frequency response. My amp can only go up to 300hz,but this sub can reach 500hz. This sub is a great value for people wanting to upgrade a stock speaker setup. Be aware that this 4 ohm model can switch between 2 and 8 ohm total impedance, since it's a dual voice coil. The 2 ohm model supports 1 or 4 ohm total impedance.
