If you're into superpowered girls and shady intergalactic governments, this is worth buying to have around and play every once in a while, after you've seen it through the first time. It's not a ground-breaking series and at times seems to borrow concepts from more popular anime and sci-fi titles, but the main characters are likeable, at times admirable, and always very pretty. Nearly the first half of the series will paint Kiddy Grade as a generic fanservice-based super-crime-fighting-girls show, but these episodes are bearable and help you become acquainted with Eclaire, Luminere, and other characters before the twists of the overarching plot become apparent (or not, if you remain oblivious). It's not as serious and dark or edgey as other titles, but it's not a gag-a-minute, either. As anime begins to look more polarized towards one delivery or the other, it can be refreshing to watch a show that wants to entertain, and has an occasional dash of food-for-thought, as well.

This show is unbelievable! The characters are a bit hard to grasp in the beginning but once you have a hold on them you will not want to let them go! Éclair and Lumiere are two of the hottest women in the galaxy (in my opinion anyways.) Beyond their looks the two poses unbelievable abilities with an intellect to match. This is especially needed since throughout this first season these two women have to face staggering odds, to fulfill their missions and to stay alive. Through the story you will notice that these two cannot live apart. They have a friendship that has evolved over the centuries into a sisterly love that is only apparent to those who pay attention. The conclusion is breath taking with a power all its own. Unfortunately I cannot and will not share the ending, if you want to see it pick it up! With all of that said this is a very well done show with great animation, music and character development.
