Metallica!

One of my favorite albums by Metallica. This was their first album and you can tell the huge difference between how they sounded back in the day and how they sound now. I'm not saying that how they sound now is a bad thing. Bands develop a different sound as they go through the years. You don't usually write songs today that you would have written 10 years ago. You are in a different mindset when it comes to writing as you get older. I would definitely recommend this album to anyone wanting to hear some old school Metallica!

Loving these new remasters

The new Metallica remasters are off to a GREAT start. The bass on this album is much clearer and more pronounced and there is definitely clarity and thickness in the guitar and vocals that did not exist before. There was a thin feeling to the original recording that this remaster has really curbed without hurting the integrity of the sound. This is the type of remaster that sets the bar for future remaster jobs.

I usually don't buy into album remasters because in the past when I have heard them, I didn't hear much difference.
But I have this a shot to support the band (because we want them to get up to a remastered AJFA) and it was 5.99. I'm glad I did. The sound is noticeably better than on my original kill em all. Apparently technology has finally gotten to that point.
If you are reading this is assume you already have heard the original album and are a fan so I'm not going into a track by track review lol.

Terrific Remaster of a Great Album

This album started it all for Metallica. They did a great job on the remastering and everything. Like the Ride Remaster, this remaster sounds terrific. I think this version sounds, to me, better than the '83 release, although it's been a while since I've heard it. The only thing I would want with the re-release, is the inclusion of the two cover songs that graced the original '83 release. This version does not disappoint in any way, for what is on the album, here! Great Remaster!

I Love Metallica and I was lacking this album in my collection. I was very surprised to see this online at such an incredible price. I purchased it right away. I am very happy with the quality, etc. It's a great album and a must have for any Metallica fan. There are plenty of hits on there,Seek and Destroy, The Four Horesmen,Jump in the Fire.I would strongly recommend this album for any Metallica fan or any fan of great Rock.

the album that started it all. and still one of their best , you can hear the dave mustaine influence, and the late great cliff, just check out anesthesia {pulling teeth}, what a bass player he was. and the fact that just about all of theses songs are met staples, you can not miss here. the four horsemen ride! and also the remaster is fine, good sound.

This is the best Metallica album!!! It's where it all started.... Every song is great and it shows the band in it's raw state and most heaviest. Great remastered version and the price at Best Buy is only $5.99!!!!!!! Talk about value for your money! The packaging and booklet are well done and you can't go wrong with the original and best album by these guys!!

Metallica did a great job remastering this album. The songs sound better than in its previous versions, especially the bass solo from Pulling Teeth Anesthesia. I had an older copy of the album and when I heard this one was coming out again, I didn´t hesitate in getting it. This is one of the best classic metal albums out there, and for the price it is an excellent deal.

Quintessential thrash metal

Metallica’s “Kill ‘em all” is the quintessential thrash metal album. From “The Four Horsemen” to “Seek and Destroy”, this high speed freight train comes at you at full speed. It is awesome to go back in time and throw a quality CD into the stereo and “thrash all around” to this gem. Plus, it was under $6 bucks!

Kill em all. The first, the loudest, the real deal of thrash. Now with cleaned up sound. I only noticed the mastering changes on a few songs. Seek and Destroy and The four horsemen. Regardless, if you love Lars and his check book, you know you're gonna buy it. Same album art, same track list. No Blitzkrieg or Am I Evil. That would have been cool.

Kill Em All has to rank as one of the greatest thrash albums of all time. It's hard to believe that this CD is 33 years old already. After listening to this album, you will definitely need a neck brace from all the headbanging you will do. Tracks like " Whiplash, and Seek and Destroy" are my favorites but every track is really awesome.

THIS is a mind-blowing release, the 1st EVER release of 'Thrash' Metal as we know it. My son & I just saw Metallica on June 4th at Busch Stadium in St. Louis & they were INCREDIBLE! They played "Whiplash" & "Seek & Destroy" from this release, would love to have heard "Hit The Lights", but I'll take ANYTHING by them any day!

First, I only paid $5.99 for this classic cd. The best thing about this cd is the sound improvement. With the remaster, I only have to turn the knob up between 5 and 10 rather than 10-15. Highly recommended!

Metallica's older work is definitely their best work (in my opinion, and I'm sure many others as well)! I'm glad they're finally remastering their older stuff! The sound is great on this disc! I'm not a huge fan of the packaging (the slipcase provides little protection for the disc), but the music is what matters!

I consider myself a very, very casual fan of Metallica. So much so that I really am only familiar with singles and other songs that are shown to me from friends and family. I discovered this album in the "discount" bin for $5.99 and figured I would pick it up. It's a solid album that holds up pretty well for it's age. I wonder how it would sound if this exact lineup were to record it to day (at the age they originally recorded it). If you find it in such a bin and always wondered, it's worth it.

The city was a great buy at $5.99. This classic album has been listen to over and over again by me since it’s purchase. Although doesn’t have any of the details or insert as the original album on cassette or contact desk wood it’s sleek design allows for easy storage on the car

This new remastering is quite an improvement to my ears. Even though it is a tad compressed, and although has a relatively low dynamic range compared to older releases, the clarity, the never before heard details, and the nice punchy bass make this old album sound new again. Definitely recommended.

Metallica "Kill em All" Not just a CD! This is a newly remastered version of Metallica's first album! It cleans up well and sounds excellent beyond your highest expectations! I highly recommend this. They also remastered "Ride the Lightning". I take it they are doing two at a time.
