One of the best Jazz albums that I have heard over the years and still standing the test of time. Miles along with Coltrane at their best. All blues is my favorite tune on the historic album

When you are listening to Miles and his horn you can just sit back and relax while you are stuck in cross town traffic during rush hour. Miles
Davis will mellow you out!

This quintessential Miles Davis album needs no introduction nor any review from me, but I am still amazed at the relevance, sound quality, and sonic fullness of this 60 year old recording. It still sounds great and even more so on CD. If you are a fan of The Alman Brothers, Charlie Daniels(early stuff), Dave Matthews Band, or any blues/jazz/fusion, you need to own this album; this is where it all came from. Trust!

This is the second time I purchased the Miles David Kind of Blue cd. The first was stolen. If you have cd's that you consider classics then please put this one up at top. Miles Davis's music reaches out to your emotions. If's a perfect collection of music for those rainy days, down days or just want to hear and appreciate a very talented artist.

It took me years before I bought my own CD after so many years of listening to selections and never ending glowing reviews. Why was I so stupid in not getting this CD earlier ??

Only the BEST jazz recording ever...

Well, what can one say about arguably the best jazz recording in history? If I remember correctly from the liner notes, most of these tunes were recorded in one take. Now ordinarily with many other types of music, this would not necessarily be considered good at all, but given the generally higher abilities of JAZZ musicians to IMPROVISE, and specifically the "tour de force" that was this particular group of musicians... well, let's just say they were all "in the zone" during these sessions. What I said above in "Cons" regarding the alt. take of Flamenco Sketches being unnecessary, it's not that I wish it were not on this newer remastered edition, it's just that in my opinion the originally-selected version is better, and to double-up on that theme at the end is maybe too much of a good thing, so to speak. But that's only a tiny complaint. Kind of Blue is an absolutely essential CD for the collection of ANY music fan, not just jazz aficionados. If you've never heard it, try this: read the liner notes in the CD booklet, then listen to the songs in a quiet room, and it will change your life... for the better.

Kind of Blue is one of my favorite Miles Davis albums. It is also one of my favorite jazz albums too as well as this one is a classic. My favorite songs on this calm album are So What, and Freddie Freeloader. All the songs are great in this album. No CD collection will ever be complete without Miles Davis. For all music fans who want to have a calm collection.
