First off, if you like Guy Ritchie you should like his take on King Arthur. A lot of style and different take on the classic mythology. The movie is very entertaining from beginning to end. I know a lot of people had a problem with the magic in the movie but they must've forgot that A) King Arthur is primarily based on folklore, not factual history and B) uh, Merlin!!!! Magic has been a key element to the mythology surrounding Knights of the round table and Excalibur. If you want a fun movie and keep an open mind, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by Guy Ritchie's take.

Ok I went into this with a low expectations that way I could not be disappointed (Rocknrolla)
I am happy to say that this movie is fun in the way an amusement ride is fun don't expect much substance and if you are open to a new interpretation of an old story this movie delivers.
Think "fast and the furious" in medevil times meets Harry Potter on acid. Lots of fun and pure escapism.
If you are looking for a good fun visual ride, sound that is pretty immersive and can suspend disbelief toward fun this is the movie to watch.

This is Guy Ritchie's Arthur origin story, so expect a fast paced stylized film going in. Turned out to be a decent popcorn action movie, with an interesting twist to the well known tale of Arthur and the Excalibur sword, although it hardly bares any resemblance to the original story. Definitely won't spur any awards buzz for anyone involved, and the plot leaves much to be desired, but its good for what it is, a summer action flick. It sports decent 4K video and solid audio quality for those interested.

I'm a Guy Ritchie fan and this totally worked for me.
Loved the Guy Ritchie quick cuts with Charlie Hunam's Arthur.
Great action and cinematography and imagery.
Acting was perfect all around, with quite an impressive cast list.
Emotional and stunning and satisfying.
Good origin story and would love to see a sequel.
The soundtrack totally makes this movie even better. One of the best soundtrack to movie pairings. Includes some perfect workout tracks. Very inspiring.
I was highly anticipating this movie and it did not let me down.
I was fully entertained!

One of the best action/comedy of 2017 for me & my wife. I can even count the amount of times we watched it. I really hope a part two is in the mix; the series is not left to die like I am number four. The choice in actor(s), great. The story, the back story, the design, set design, consumes, sound quality. In 4K!!! Omg! Jude’s Gilliam character could have used more depth, so too for the mage but part two has the opportunity to expand on such things as key character development. Hey fantastic beast part 2 is almost out. Providing more character depth that was lacking in part one.

**Movie brings a different aspect that focuses on the sword. There's just enough magic to give it that mythic story title. I also appreciated the character growth they put into Arthur. The only negative I had was that the Mage wasn't more focused on--I'd love to see a movie on her.
My favorite King Arthur movies in no specific order: First Knight (1995), Camelot (1967), Excalibur (1981), The Sword in the Stone (1963), and King Arthur, (2004). Now we can add this 2017 adaptation.

....if you take the swords and change them into guns and put everyone in suit you will see it is a vintage Guy Richie collection, having said that I enjoy this adaptation of the legend... it is highly entertaining...and very star heavy, even David Beckham enjoyed his cameo....we all know how the story goes and all, so this a different take on the legend, he did a better take that some of the other versions,..sometimes improvisation is good as long as you can make it very watchable and this one is ...for me that is..watch it and enjoy

I know the actual reviews for this movie were not positive, and to their credit the movie could have been much better, but the movie was fun for me. It was a Guy Ritchie film in every way. If you don't like his style of movies then you probably should stream for free before looking to buy. But if you like his other movies, then this is right up your alley.

Watched this last night and already pre-ordered the digital copy. It's a fast paced, action packed, visually stimulating movie with an incredible cast. Do not listen to the critics on this one. They hate Guy Ritchie movies and they have attacked this one as well. Also don't let the box office numbers fool you. It opened against Guardians of the Galaxy 2 which is stealing it's thunder. If you are a fan of Ritchie's Sherlock movies then you will NOT be disappointed. You'll love this movie.

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword directed by Guy Ritchie. He had a great vision and did well with this movie. He has created very stylized action sequences. His character development was well done, mainly regarding the main character. The antagonist Jude Law was generally glossed over perhaps, but was developed further as the movie progressed to reveal more about him. Overall this was a great movie.

I was never a King Arthur fan. So many remakes of that movie and they all were repetitive. Guy Richie and his creative artistic mind brought the story to life in a true magical pop culture way. The actors casted for the gold were a great familiar faces a strong background that made quite a performance. I liked how Hunnam spoke with his true accent, it was quite a different feel from 7 yrs of SOA overall this is a big must have in your collection of movies.

Guy Ritchie always cast perfect actors in all his movies. You never know what to expect. So when I saw King Arthur. I was very delighted. Guy Ritchie always brings much action and adventure to his movies. This was definitely the case in King Arthur. I don't want to say to much about this movie. Other than it was very amusing and entertaining. It was very well Directed. Thank you, Guy Ritchie. I always look forward to seeing your movies. Christopher C Sills.

If you watch this thinking you're going to find a typical Arthurian Legend story, don't bother. This is Ritchie's vision. If you are not a fan of movies like Snatch or Sherlock Holmes ( interested in seeing what he is doing with Aladdin) type movies, you will not like the way this story is laid out. I love the way Ritchie tells stories and loved his spin on this legend starting with Uther. Also think Hunnam was a perfect choice for Arthur. Enjoy!

Some might take issue with Ritchie's jumbling up of the King Arthur legend. It's a bit askew with sequences and characters out of place, but than we always have the excellent Excalibur from 1981 to fall back on. Go into it understanding it's a riff on the original legend and you'll appreciate it more. Planned as a franchise, but it may not make it to film 2?

I have seen many versions of the King Arthur legend but this one really blew me away. Unfortunately the trailer was lousy and I would have dismissed this movie too if a friend hadn't brought me. It turned out to be my favorite movie of the summer. Staples of the legend like the sword and the stone and the lady of the lake are here and told brilliantly, as well as new surprises. This movie also matches perfectly with Guy Ritchie's style.

A Modern Take on King Arthur

This modern take on the King Arthur legend was entertaining and fast paced; not your parents King Arthur. It is a matter of watching the movie with the right set of expectations, if you thought it would be a period piece like the stories of King Arthur that proceeded it you will be disappointed. It is like the Fast and the Furious of period movies.

This is NOT John Boorman's Excalibur, so don't go into it thinking that's what you're going to get. It is a pretty fun Guy Ritchie take on the Arthurian legend with a dash of Frank Frazetta's Death Dealer. Music is cool, I like a lot of the characters, I'm not a huge fan of the "power effect" of the sword, but other than that it's fun.
