PG version is better
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was not impressed with the extended version in the way it was formated in the blu-ray. It was formatted like the original tv version with the PG version not included in the TV extended version.

Still great after 40 years!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I hadn't seen this since it came out back in 1976 so I was looking forward to seeing it again. I wasn't disappointed however the transfer to DVD was about 85% because there were many scenes where it started getting very grainy and then recover when it switched to the next scene.

A 1976 Dream come true for an 8 year old...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love KING KONG ! This is my favorite Kong film ever ! I saw it when it came out in New York in when I was 8 years old on opening night - after the film I fell asleep in the car on the way home and instead of my parents going home they drove into the city from white plains NY and woke me up at the world trade center and we went to the top for dessert at windows of the world ! Best ever !!! Kong Kong Kong !!!!

Not a bad remake
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The 1976 King Kong is a good movie but the 1933 and 2005 versions are better. The 1976 has been given a lot of hate from people who fans of the classic original. It has a different story and different characters but a lot of stuff I see is accurate to the original. Kong still lives in an island being worshipped by natives. He still carries off a blonde woman. Like the original, Kong gets captured and taken to New York to make money off of. Kong still goes on a rampage in New York but instead of climbing the Empire State Building and getting shot down by biplanes, he climbs the World Trade Center and gets shot down by helicopters. If you want a good monster movie, watch this!
