Customers are saying

Customers commend the stunning graphics and engaging story of Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, also praising the remastered versions of classic games. However, some feel the game is too short and that the amount of content doesn't justify the price for some players. The updated HD visuals and enjoyable combat were also frequently highlighted as positive aspects.

I mainly bought this collection to play Birth by Sleep 0.2, and was very worth it, even though is under 3 hours. Also worth it if you have not played KH3D since that is a great game as well. So excited for KHIII.

This is a great collection leading into Kingdom Hearts 3! Dream Drop Distance is a great game about Sora and Riku dealing with the Mark of Mastery exam. You traverse the worlds as both characters separately both telling half of each world's story. Then the major draw is the story of Aqua trying to traverse the darkness to return to her friends. This is done with similar tech used in the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 3 and the graphics are beautiful, especially the magic effects. The story is shorter than a full game but much long than a demo.

Coming into this, I'd only ever played Kingdom Hearts 1 and Kingdom Hearts 2. I found myself regularly confused about all the spinoffs, prequels, etc. Therefore, I'm grateful for this release. It takes many of these said games and puts them neatly into one package. In only a short period of time, I've finished almost all the games and must say it really brings back memories of the Kingdom Hearts world as a whole. The battle system is still fun, the characters entertaining, and the story top notch.

If you are a fan of the Kingdom Hearts series then this game is a must buy and if this is your first time into the series then I recommend you get the Kingdom Hearts 1.5 and 2.5 remaster game coming this March, this one comes with the remaster dream drop distance that was released originally on the Nintendo 3DS and two other short episodes one from Birth by Sleep, it's a really fun game but if you want a more complete experience and story wise get the other game too.

Overall, KH2.8 is a fine collection. However, 0.2 (the exclusive content) feels too short. Better than nothing but it can still leave you wanting more.

If you're a Kingdom Hearts fan, stop reading and just go ahead and get it. If you're not, you may not enjoy this installment first. 0.2 is kind of a joke – really just a demo to show what Square Enix will be capable of with Kingdom Hearts 3. The real meat of this game is Dream Drop Distance. It's the best looking game in the series thus far, despite being built for the 3DS. It's my favorite game in the series and defintiely a must-play before Kingdom Hearts 3.

The series continues to give side segments before releasing a big numbered release but they have been fun additions and this one is no different. This installment is full of story plots and adds more to the whole franchise. The hd remastered look of Dream Drop Distance is much needed and is just as fun if not more fun on a large screen vs 3DS. The Aqua story installment is fun, clean and with the new engine used it will be a great peek at what KH3 will be.

Being that I missed a few of the installments in the Kingdom Hearts series, this one allows me to further my understanding of the story as well as journey a little deeper into the core of the origins. I like the way they did the backstory movie, albeit a bit short, it's good for what it's worth, and having two games for the price of 1 is not too shabby either, especially with the current market of DLC. Cheers to Square for finally getting something right.

I bought this game for my son because he LOVES the series and was so excited for the next installment....unfortunately, there's no new game play. According to my son, the graphics are 'sic', but all they did was combine Dream Drop Distance, Birth by Sleep and a prologue explaining how the series came to be, which is probably why it's called 2.8 and not 3. I gave it 3 stars instead of 2 because of the graphics and the combination of the 2 games not on the Playstation console system.

Continues the story of Aqua from birth by sleep and tells a prequel story from the phone game. Also includes a remaster of the 3ds game for those who missed it.

The short game about aqua was really good but very short. You are paying to play dream drop distance again in HD plus a 3 hour demo. The movie was good

I'll start by saying fragmentary passage, the new game included in this collection, was everything the fans were hoping Kingdom Hearts 3 would be like. It's gorgeous, movement and attacks are so fluid now it's breath taking just to watch. As for the story and where it all connects, it's got a fun little place right during the events of the first game, towards the end of the original to be exact. But all in all the story is pretty inessential to the series, bar the last cutscenes after you finish the game. These scenes lead directly into Kingdom Hearts 3 it's sets our heroes on their courses I assume we will be playing in 3. Now the second game in the series Dream Drop Distance, now this is as essential story wise as and if the numbered games. Game play is similar to birth by sleep but with a "flowmotion" gimmick also you collect these Pokémon like creatures you train and that's a whole thing. And last but Mot least there was the movie, Bkack Cover. It was definitely the weakest link. I can't say for sure but the movie may have been better had I played the app it's based on. I had the sense that we were supposed to know these characters. Though the story was messy once you work it out, it was decent it had very interesting characters enough for me to watch it all from start to finish. A character that stood out to me the most was "Master of masters." He's hard to explain he's funny but also very mysterious. I loved him, I hope he shows up again in a future game.
