I love the look (claymation has always been a favorite), but I'm just not very good with a stylus. I can definitely see the appeal, and my friends really enjoy it...so, in the meantime I'll just watch the purty visuals and remain content.

This game is very fun, especially in groups. Graphics are great, with a claymation feel. The only thing is if you play as Kirby you are drawing the whole time on your Wii U Pad, literally no controls are used. Its different but fun.

this title has a very unique art style that i haven't seen before. the gameplay starts with a simple concept but it becomes very deep and is fun. two player was also very entertaining and didn't seem unbalanced. The amiibo functionality was ok but im glad they included the amiibo at least

This is the sequel to 2005's Kirby Canvas Curse and it outshines its predecessor in many ways. The controls, visuals and music all are vastly upgraded in this iteration. The game is carefree and lighthearted as is characteristic of the Kirby series. It's a great game to help you relax!

I generally play the kirby console games co-op and this one is no different. Using the stylus alone is an interesting scheme and lends for some challenging gameplay, but with co-op your second character has a more conventional control structure. We've found switching off to be most fun, because it can get exhausting/boring to just do one or the other. However, like many nintendo games, p2 is a good place for a beginner. One thing I don't like is that we only get to play as Waddle Dee as the second character! There's so many great Kirby characters, wish there were more options. If there are, I haven't been able to find them. Anyway, while I hope to see another spit-and-swallow kirby come to console in HD, this is a good entry in the franchise.

Delightful art style, easy to control, asymmetric

Obviously, Kirby games are targeted at children, but having been a child when the first Kirby game for Game Boy came out, I've followed the series through the years and have had a blast playing through this with my wife. She's not quite the gamer I am, but her Waddle Dee has been my faithful companion, just as she was in similar Nintendo couch co-op games like Kirby's Return to Dream Land, Super Mario 3D World, New Super Mario Bros U, and so on. Games like this are what the Wii U should have had all along - with asymmetric gameplay, that is, different experiences for the player with the Gamepad and other players. You don't notice the claymation-inspired art style it as much if you're playing as Kirby, though, and staring at the Gamepad, so make sure you look up once in a while. It's fun to look at, and for anybody a bit above the target audience for this game, there are lots of collectibles and challenge rooms that make sure things never get too easy.

This game is definitely aimed at the younger audiences but don't be fooled it is tough down the stretch. You'll most likely be playing this game for its amazing visuals, one of the best looking games of the year

If you go into this game expecting your typical Kirby game, you are going to be GREATLY disappointed, and with those regards, this game is worth lower stars. If you come to this game with an open mind, and did your homework and knows this plays similarly to Kirby Canvas Curse on the DS, then your expectations should be spot on. The claymation style of the game is pretty neat, and the game can be fun given what it is. Like everyone else though, i do wish they went with a traditional Kirby game.

This is a blast to play. The graphics look great and are really inventive. It can be challenging at times, but not overly so. For a budget game it's well worth getting.

The graphics are great for this game and the gameplay is easy to pick up. The only problem is having to stare at the small wii u screen to be able to play this game. The multiplayer is worth the purchase for fun with the family.

Drawing upon the phenomenal ideas of Kirby's Canvas Curse on the Nintendo DS, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse does a great job of creating a magical and beautiful clay world to explore. Although the game is relatively short, it's packed with secrets and some wonderful collectables to keep the fun alive. The game is primarily played on the Game Pad making it a solid choice for off TV play but it does detract from the beautiful HD world display on the television if you're playing alone. The game also contains a multiplayer component allowing friends to join in as Waddle Dees for some truly wonderful couch co-op.

I purchased this game as a birthday present for my seven year old daughter. She is a big fan of Nintendo games and Nintendo characters and has a handful of Kirby games from the Wii and 3DS. The controls in this title are unique in that you control Kirby entirely on the Wii U game pad, but up to four other characters can play along side Kirby as Waddle-dees. Fun, colorful, and engaging enough to keep youngsters entertained. My only complaint is that because of the nature of how the game is played, the game prevents you from watching the gameplay on your TV.

I like the animation and the clay-figure cut screen animations. The game play is fun with more than one player. The controls are difficult for Kirby because you have to use the Wii U pad and stencil to draw rainbows to move Kirby in various directions. I like that you can draw rainbows to access hidden areas, block traps, block water, etc but it would have been better if you could control Kirby without drawing movement lines on the Wii U pad.

Fun game for all ages. I enjoy playing it with my kids ages 9, 6, and 3. One player is a little harder to control but fun once you get the hang of it. Lots to do and explore, plus a great price.

Yes, it is a stylus game just like Canvas Curse. I have a preference for the traditional Kirby platforms, but I can't deny that straying from the normal from time to time is a good idea. This particular version has a very unique clay model look to it. I love how neat all the lay models look, it's so alive! I find the stylus game play to be fun, but I can't go for too long before my hand starts to ache. No all day gaming sessions with this title! Still, that aside, it's a great game with a lot of challenges and collectibles.

My son (big Kirby fan) loves the game. Me: Ehh...

As the title says, I'm torn on how to rate this game. My son (who is a huge Kirby fan) seems to love it, and would no-doubt give it 5-stars. I'm not so sure; I'd probably give it 3-stars. Hence splitting the difference and putting it at 4-stars. The good: Even if you have absolutely no-skill what-so-ever, or if you're VERY young (or conversely VERY OLD), after playing a level enough times, it gives you the option to automatically "pass" the level. True, you won't get the bonus for legitimately completing it, but it still allows for progress to be made on a level that's more challenging. (This is great for my 5-year-old son, as he can progress on his own, and when I can help him, we can go back and beat prior levels.) The bad: The game REQUIRES the use of the Wii U gamepad. You must use a stylus to draw rainbows to move Kirby around. Be it that Kirby is traveling on the rainbow, or that it serves as a barrier to get Kirby to turn-around. Multi-player: Yes, the game supports multiplayer (up to 4 players), but I would argue it's not a TRUE multiplayer, in the sense that being p2-p4 is not the same as being p1. The *main* player being Kirby using the gamepad, the other players having spears and assisting Kirby on his adventure. If Kirby dies, ALL players die. If p2-p4 die, they can come back to life (as long as Kirby is alive). In short, they are "supportive" players -- far more vital than say p2 on Super Mario Galaxy, but nothing like p2-p4 on Super Mario 3D World. More bad: This game looks a bit claymation like. Not to say it's a BAD thing, but I don't like the visual appearance, as compared to other Kirby games. Other misc. comments: While not good or bad, I would say the game has some stylistic/visual cues from Little Big Planet (PS3). Perhaps it's just me and no-one else would agree, but it just gives that feel. True, I haven't played all the Kirby games, so perhaps an earlier Kirby has the same look and LBP copied from it.... As I conclude this, I stick by my original rating --if you're a Kirby fan, you'll probably love it. If you're not a Kirby fan, this game likely isn't going to convert you.

Ok so maybe I should have looked even more into this game play. I adore the Kirby line (best one ever to date is the Yarn) and this is no exception; however, most of the time I'm stuck looking/playing on the remote WiiU. This is ok when others want to use the TV so that's a plus but it's kind of a waste of my new, amazing 55" 3D 4k TV! For that I'm giving it a 4 star but the game itself rocks as always!
