Customers are enthusiastic about the fun gameplay and unique clay art style of Kirby and the Rainbow Curse. Many found the game easy to play and enjoyable for all ages, although some experienced challenges with the controls and noted the limited use of the TV screen. While some players found the difficulty appropriate, others felt it was either too easy or too hard depending on their skill level. A few customers also commented on the game's price and the limited functionality of the amiibo.

The game plays like Canvas Curse for the DS (with the stylus), and is good fun. However like a lot of Kirby games, you'll be finished with the main levels fairly quickly. On the other hand, the challenges are very difficult and getting all the treasure chests can be tricky. The biggest shame is looking at the gamepad rather than the TV, because the graphics are extremely charming.

Prepare to Look at Your Gamepad

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse is an amazing video game with great claymation visuals that bring the work to life. There is only one problem; while the visuals are quite amazing, especially for the Wii U, you'll spend more time focused on the Gamepad (Wii U Controller) than anything else as you draw paths for Kirby to follow. Other than that, the game is pretty challenging with a lot to offer. Amiibo support is included for the Kirby series of characters as well.

    Beautiful Looking Game

This is actually the first Kirby game I've played so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. To my surprise this game is quite fun although it was a bit of a hassle since you had to always look at the gamepad. I really wanted to watch the action on the TV since the game is so beautiful looking but it was almost impossible for me. This feels more like a spectator game. I haven't tried the two player mode or the amiibo functionality yet but I'm looking forward to it.

This game is beautiful. The graphics are absolutely incredible. However, you rarely see them because the gameplay requires you stare at the gamepad the whole time. You have to draw a path for Kirby to roll along on with your stylus. I would try and glimpse at the tv as much as i could but eventually i would just get dizzy looking up and down from the tv to the gamepad. I enjoy the gameplay but its just unfortunate that you miss out on the picture on the tv.

Filled with undeniable charm, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse is a surprisingly challenging game, especially in the second half. Kirby's unique movement mechanics set this apart from most other games in the franchise, but playing as the second character in co-op mode will feel more familiar to veterans of the series. I'd advise playing through it with another person and switching between the two different characters to make the experience more enjoyable.

I had a old Kirby game for my DS that played a lot like this, but it didn't look this great! Nintendo is really on a roll with creating games with a specific theme (yarn, clay, etc) and this game looks GREAT! Even if you get sick of the gameplay, this game will ALWAYS look beautiful. Totally worth the 10 hours of Single Player gameplay, and multiple playthrus with friends. Being Waddle Dee is almost better than being Kirby!

One of the best uses of the gamepad and stylus to guide Kirby along the levels by drawing a path for him. The gameplay looks easy enough, but actually takes some time getting the hang of.....it's not the least bit frustrating though. Also, the graphics with its claymation-like artstyle is really cool. Definitely one of the Wii U's overlooked gems.....which has been the case of most Kirby games over the years.

This game is both gorgeous and a joy to control. Taking a page from the Canvas Curse play style and adding a fantastic clay art style, the game is a charming, although short ride. As it is controlled primarily from the Game Pad it makes for a great single player experience in off TV mode. It also includes some great couch co-op for friends as Waddle Dees so the HD glory can be experienced by the non-Kirby players.

My 10 year old loved Kirby's Return to Dreamland. The game is totally different as you're using the Gamepad and Stylus instead of just the Wiimote. He says this is a bit harder than the previous game so better suited for experienced? younger games so they don't give up. He really enjoys it more with friends. Apparently there a definite advantage to playing with a partner. He doesnt play it much without someone.

I haven't played the previous game (Canvas Curse), but I must say that I may look into it after playing Rainbow Curse. While I'm not too much of a fan of the gameplay as it can be a bit difficult to control at times, the aesthetics of the game are great. The artstyle is on point and the soundtrack is the best that a Kirby game has had to date. And for the price, I'd say this game is certainly worth a purchase.

This game received decent reviews, due to its imperfections like its focus on the gamepad rather than the TV for such a beauty of game. But it's still possible to admire its art, especially for player 2! One thing people don't seem to mention though is this game's stellar soundtrack. I love how the Kirby themes are here and their choice of instruments! With solid level design, wonderful presentation, and affordable price, this game deserves much more credit than it's being given.

If you like Kirby games, you will enjoy this game! If you like to look at your gorgeous HD TV while you play, you may be upset with this game. It has you play the game entirely looking at the gamepad controller, so you aren't really watching your TV as you need to draw lines and paths on the gamepad, in order to control your Kirby. Other than that minor hitch, it's a totally fun game!

This is a fun little budget title for the Wii U ($40). The graphics are beautiful too. Expect about 20-25 hours of gameplay if you're a completionist like me- 50 challenge rooms (I think) & collectibles in the story mode levels help lengthen the experience. Tons of unlockables round out the package....Amiibo support too (good luck finding Meta Knight and King Dedede though)

A Different Kind of Kirby Game

I enjoy the traditional Kirby platform games, such as "Dreamland" and "Triple Deluxe." This is different as it reminds me of early DS games such as "Yoshi Touch & Go" and this game's predecessor "Kirby: Canva Curse." I've heard complaints that this game should've been made for the 3DS, but the 3DS wouldn't be able to render the beautiful claymation graphics and animation. But for $40, like "Captain Toad," it's a budget title worth trying and perhaps buying.

This is by far the best-looking Kirby game ever released by Nintendo! Only down side is that, if you are the player, you have to keep your eyes fixed on the GamePad and you will miss the wonderful Hi-Def graphics on the big screen. People watching the action on the big screen will probably have as much or more fun than the person playing the actual game.
