Our KitchenAid microwave lasted over 7 years. We just bought another one like the first one because it is so easy to operate and clean. We have all KitchenAid appliances in our home.

I replaces a sharp microwave that had worked great for 16 years. I can only get certain microwaves, as the hole for it is small. I have noticed the sensor cook tends to run hot and long. therefore, food comes out burnt sometimes. Also, the tone at the end has all but muted. it is so soft, I cannot hear it unless I am standing right on top of it.

Arrived in a box with a lot of extra "security tape" on it for no apparent purpose except suspiciously to seal a box that had been previously opened. As this unit was ordered to replace a similar MW that has very uneven heating, I decided to try it before I installed it in its trim-kit opening. First, I noticed fingerprints all over and no protective film over the buttons. I was obviously not the first buyer to handle this unit. Once plugged it in, I immediately noticed that one of the LED numbers was incomplete. Then I tried to heat some water. The keyboard was dead - no response to touching any button. This unit is going back. To try to keep it from being recycled to another buyer, I wrote "BAD" in black marker on the enclosure. Unfortunately I am limited to this KitchenAid microwave because it has to fit in a location that was constructed for a similiar KA unit that failed after just four years. Not a happy KitchenAid microwave customer!

Bought this unit to match my Kitchenaid ensemble and because it was the only size that would fit my location. So far the unit has performed well with no problems. It looks good and appears to be made with good materials. Price was kind of high compared to other similar microwaves but got a discount from Best Buy for multiple items purchased which helped.

Kitchen Aid had done a very nice job with this black stainless microwave. Replace the oven and the dishwasher just before buying this unit. Works and looks great. The only negative and it is not just with this unit, however all new microwave feel light / cheap. Time will tell how long this unit lasts.

Easily replaced a 10 year old KitchenAid countertop microwave with this model. Was able to reuse the existing trim kit, making replacement very easy.

Purchased 10/24/14 The paint has been peeling away from the side of the microwave! DEFECT!!!! This paint is peeling away from the top of the microwave near the vent holes. A place that rarely gets touched! It has not been scratched. THIS IS A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT! KitchenAid/Whirlpool's response: We recommend you don't use it! Throw it away. KitchenAid/Whirlpool refuse to offer any assistance with their defective microwave! I recommend you not buy a KitchenAid/Whirlpool microwaves.

Extremely poor quality product. Had multiple failure in our neighborhood. I had replaced this item about 16 months ago and it failed again. Will not recommend this product from KitchenAid. Very dissapointed.

Replacement unit for older, 20 years old, microwave. Fit exactly in opening and the old trim kit worked as listed. Saved us $125 for a new trim kit.

This unit replaced the in-cabinet model, and although a new model, it fit perfectly. No real difference between old and new models. It works fine.

I bought a Kitchen Aid expecting the same high quality that I experienced in the past. I was surprised that the quality was so bad. The button to open the door was so stiff it was hard to open. Trim is now made of cheap plastic. The one I removed from the old KitchenAid microwave was metal and much more sturdy. I returned the microwave.

I bought it to replace our old KitchenAid 1.6 Cu. Ft. Microwave. After four busy years of thawing, reheating, and cooking it died, I tried to replace it with other brands but they did not fit the cabinet where it was installed. I searched and found the new version KitchenAid on Best Buy.com. It fit the cabinet and the trim kit from the old model perfectly. I'm glad the other brands did not fit because I really like the KitchenAid's best feature. It has a "Pizza Reheat" button that reheats pizza as if it was baked in an oven. It also runs whisper quiet with all the cooking power you need.
