I thought it wasn't cooking at the wattage advertised but I didn't test it until April of 2022. It is only producing about 825 watts. It takes about 3 min to do a 3.5 oz bag of microwave popcorn. It should only take about 2 min in a 1000 watt microwave. I bought another identical unit in May 2022 and it is also only producing about 825 watts. I will be returning it and purchasing a different model, which is very frustrating (my wife is not happy!) because this one matches all of the rest of my kitchen appliances.

The last kitchenaid microwave started giving me problems after 2 years and I had to replace it after 4 years. I like it right now but we will see.

Because of this it will not microwave. On random occasions it will work. If you want to heat something up you have to leave the door open until the light comes on (could be a minute, could be 3 hours) and then you can use it. It looks nice but the sensor is junk. I googled the problem and many people report the same thing. Within a year you would think someone would be willing to fix it
