    Kitchen Aid counter depth fridge

It’s a cool looking fridge, just not very roomy but you can fit everything you need. The guys who delivered this fridge just dropped it off and didn’t adjust the height, so my fridge was bending and almost broke my new kitchen cabinets by pressing on them. It’s very loud, and this “feature” is very annoying. Also by the time it was delivered everything was wrapped in plastic and “secured” with panoply. I believe one of the shelves was bended and now when we pull the basket it squeaks and I am afraid to break it.

I liked the professional look of the Kitchenaid and it's made in America! I needed a refrigerator that would fit into a counter space. What was the home builder thinking when they made this small space in my kitchen. The KA was delivered by two really nice delivery guys. They taught us about our new appliance. The refrigerator had some ripples on the edge of the stainless steel front. It looked like if I ordered a new one it would be like this one so I thought I could live with this minor defect. I liked having the water dispenser inside the refrigerator. There are not too many refrigerators that offer this feature. A couple days later I purchased food for the week. I opened the freezer and it was full of ice particles everywhere. It looked like it was snowing in my freezer. I also realized the french style freezer baskets was not a great idea if you're a person that likes things organized. Everything goes down to the bottom and disappears. The French style is nice looking but I like an organized refrigerator. After reading hundreds of reviews, well not a hundred but close, I decided to purchase a five-year warranty. The good ole days with appliances lasting forever are over. Technology has ruined the longevity of appliances. I called Best Buy and told them about my Kitchenaid frosty freeze. I said if it has problems this early, I want to return it for a different product. The guy that helped me was outstanding! He was willing to take the time and help my pick out a flex four door refrigerator. The exchange went smoothly. This Kitchenaid is not a bad refrigerator but it's not for me.

I will start with I did alot of online shopping and comparing, between Loews can and best buy I found lower prices on the same goods that were at "appliance stores" the Salesman was EXTREMELY helpful and courteous couldn't ask for more. Unfortunately, the refrigerator came damaged on delivery, as of this time we are awaiting replacement. The one delivered runs and was left with us until the new one comes, that was a great convenience, not always given. The delivery team, too, were extremely helpful and with the damaged model we were given three choices, full replacement, discount, or a notation of it's condition in case it broke within a certain time. We opted for the replacement. As for the product, one serious peev turns out to be the large vegetable drawer, it's way cheap seeming and I am concerned as to how long it will hold up. Also, the sides are NOT the same material/texture as the front, something I was unable to see in the store due to how the display was set up. I think quality is seemingly ok, made like all the others I looked at, but with a made (assembled?) in the USA tag. I do, however, appreciate the counter depth, not cavernous and easy to navigate. What I don't like, is I could not get a model without the ice maker in the door, yet still get that 4th "middle exterior drawer" as such, I had to give up the drawer, as I did not want to loose frige space to the icemaker. Basically, this was a "settle" for purchase to have a plain door. Nothing exciting, but it is doing its job.

When we needed to urgently replace our fridge, it had to be with a KitchenAid so that the black stainless steel finish would match the remaining appliances. (Black SS doesn’t readily match across brands.) We bought this model sight unseen bc it met most of our other requirements: 36” counter-depth, bottom freezer, no ice in door, price point. Pros: given its relatively small volume, with clever tetris’ing, it holds enough for our family of 3; keeps temperature efficiently; ice refills quickly; no weird water taste; looks good. Cons: flimsy’ish construction not what you expect from KitchenAid or from paying a premium for this brand name; doors and handles feel lightweight; gaskets need to be wiped often to prevent mold; fruit/veggie/deli bins not very deep bc they have to accommodate plumbing that should have been built into the fridge wall; lidded door bin doesn’t fit at highest rung or you can’t open lid; door bins aren’t long enough to hold standard egg carton; only 1 year warranty. We’ve owned other counter-depth fridges that had better space management inside (Amana, Frigidaire). Overall: ok product; we hope it’ll last 5-7 years. I’d recommend it with the caveat that you get what you pay for.

Overall the refrigerator appears to cool properly; however, it has recently seemed to run a little loud when the cooling setting is going on. Then it quiets down after it appears to have gone through a cycle. It is big enough as far as space goes. My only complaint would be the level of noise at times. Other times it is quiet.

We wanted the cabinet depth to match up with the space in kitchen. We had a standard depth LG before. I expected to just lose roughly 4" of depth (and we wouldn't be forgetting about the things that are hidden way in the back). But this refridgerator is also feels shorter on the inside, we have problems fitting bottles and jars because they are too tall. We have adjusted the shelves to the best compromise, Also, the cubbies in the doors waste space with rounded corners and we can't fit as much in these spaces as we could in our old LG that was exactly the same width and height on the outside, The freezer is also not optimal for space utilization. But it is quiet and perfectly cold, controls and temps are very good. Water dispenser is handy but hard to reach and requires two hands to operate.

We bought this fridge to replace the same fridge that only lasted 5 years. Whirlpool makes this fridge. This one was a returned (before we bought it) with a bad compressor and we are hoping the replacement unit will be better than the factory.

Fridge works great. Just makes way too much noise and they will not repair/replace bc they say it’s normal. Can hear it throughout the house all day.

My KitchenAid counter depth refrigerator was delivered 3 weeks ago. I wanted the Whirlpool version of the refrig but it wasn’t available. I was told the KitchenAid was the same unit. I discovered one important difference is that my KitchenAid lacks the finger print prevention feature that its Whirlpool twin has. Pretty significant difference in my book. Still getting used to the very small inside. While I don’t “lose” items hidden in the back as I did with my non-counter depth refrig, this refrig has a small capacity. For example, no way to store a 2 liter bottle vertically, and the ice maker and tray consume a good portion of the freezer. My biggest gripe is that 3 weeks post delivery, I am already having problems. Last night the refrig inexplicably went from a temp of 38 to 58. I was on hold for 30 min with Whirlpool service center and then told that a service tech won’t be available for 5 days. I’m out a refrigerator full of perishables and worried that, with problems surfacing just 3 weeks into the life of this appliance, its long term reliability is highly suspect.

Disappointed in the performeans based on the cost of the refrigerator. Does not produce much ice after having it plugged in for a week it still has not filled a full tray. Also a bit on the noisy side when running.

I am a total KitchenAid fan. However, I am disappointed with this particular refrigerator. I didn't realize that being counter depth that it would lose as much space inside as it did. Also, I don't like that it doesn't have the ice and water dispenser on the door. But these issues don't diminish the quality of the product in any way, Just a realization that I should have thought it through more before purchasing.

Purchased December 2020 as an emergency replacement. As noted by other reviewers, the motor, fan etc is loud and runs a great deal of the time. It does occasionally shut off completely as long as no doors have been opened for a period of time. Then it is blissfully quiet. In an open plan living area, this could be annoying, but we have gotten used to it. A new person in the house could find it disturbing. Now at 5 months the gasket on the French door has split and a metal piece is falling out. I have requested support and await a response. Will they replace it or will they fuss around and claim that it is our fault. Time will tell and it will decide if I come back and update this review. I am hopeful that this is a stand up company and this is an expensive, beautiful unit. The counter depth makes it look built in. The interior lighting is fantastic. We love the ice maker in the freezer as there is nothing to occlude the beautiful doors. The Water dispenser is inside the upper unit, not through the door. The surface, though not fingerprint resistant maintains a beautiful finish by just using the recommended stainless polish. This is really a beautiful refrigerator. I don't know how to rate the quality since the gasket has split on one of the doors which could decrease efficiency........

Very nice fridge. Counter depth is great for a small kitchen. However, cubic feet in a counter depth fridge is less than a regular size fridge. Received many compliments on the look of the fridge. All in all, if you have a small kitchen and can put up with less cubic feet, then this is a great fridge

we purchased this refrigerator after reading reviews online. The refrigerator was delivered and setup nicely. 1. it looks nice and the counter depth fits our space nicely. 2. although the doors are stainless steel, magnets can still stick to it. Not sure why. 3. the main issue we had with this refrigerator is that there are about an inch gap at the back of the selves. So anything small pushed to the back would drop. Since it's counter depth, we were trying to utilizing all the possible space and push stuff to the back, and tehy would drop.

Fair price. Overall good layout. Mechanism that closes/seals the left door needs to be periodically adjusted, otherwise, the door won't close. So far in 6 months, it has required two adjustments.

I am not regret to pay couple hundred more to get this refrigerator. The product itself is solid, good quality but the service that Best Buy provided was terrible. I move to new house and need it badly, and they delivered a week later .No apology, nothing. First, The delivery guy accidentally hit my new wall when move the refrigerator to second floor. Second, i was promised by Best Buy "warehouse" that I will get the gift card for late delivery. And I got nothing still. I spent thousands dollar in Best Buy every year and i think deserve better service. If you hear me , please take good care for your royal customer .thanks!!!!!

This refrigerator was one of only a few that would fit our space, and we were concerned about whether it would hold enough. We have been pleasantly surprised with how much the fridge portion will store! KitchenAid does need to do some redesign work though. Significant door storage space is lost with the design of the butter keeper and the door slots. There is a large gap of unnecessary empty space over the butter keeper which wasn’t there in my previous fridge. With one being counter depth, it needs all of the storage space it can get. The humidity “selectors” on the crispers are quite flimsy, and with food in the drawers, you must be very careful when closing the crispers as the “selectors” are easily caught in the drawer instead of outside the drawer which jams the drawer and bends the selector. (This doesn’t happen when the crispers are nearly empty). One issue that we are still trying to remedy is the significant temperature differences between the set temperature, the top shelf and the bottom shelf even with the fridge pretty full. With the temperature set at 37 (usual fridge temp) the food on the top shelf freezes, complete with ice in the container. With it set at 39F, the top shelf temp is 34.9 and the bottom shelf is 35.4. Overall a decent fridge, but for just over $2K, and it being KitchenAid, I did expect a little better quality.
