    This refrigerator just died after 4 years of use in our kitchen. Drawers also fell apart about a year ago.

    Awful Refrigerator

    May 4, 2019 we bought KitchenAid appliances for our new home. We purchased an oven, stove top with vent, microwave, dishwasher and a refrigerator. The items were all delivered by June. We called for a service call in September, because the refrigerator was making a god awful clicking sound that was loud enough to hear 3 rooms away with the refrigerator door shut. When you opened the door, the sound was much louder. The company ASI, that KitchenAid had us use, takes 2 visits every time there is a problem. One visit to see what is wrong and another visit to fix the problem. The first time they came out in September, the repair person said they had a lot of problems with this particular refrigerator. The mechanism keeps leaking and freezing over. So that day, he took a blow dryer and defrosted the part and ordered a replacement part. He returned a week later an replaced it. Then we had them fix the exact same problem in January, it took two visits as well. The repair guy replaced the same part again and he replaced the motor just to see if that helped. Well, it started making noise again and I called KitchenAid, the repair guy said they would probably replace the refrigerator the next time. I called KitchenAid today and we have made another repair appointment. I am terribly disappointed with this product.

    WORST REFRIGERATOR YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!

    Purchased this and loved it for a year and a few months. Evaporator has broken twice in the same month. Have to wait for service and then wait again for them to get the parts. Have lost two full refridgerators worth of food and have no way to keep anything cold for a second time this month. during quarantine cant even go out for dinner. Customer service is the worst.

    Defective Model

    This has been the worst experience with this model! The evaporation system has failed three times since purchased all within two years. Each time we had to discard food. And our wood floors have been damaged due to the fridge leaking! Three times this has happened. The life expectancy of a fridge should be greater than three years. Kitchenaid solutions have been ineffective and they have not acknowledged there is a design flaw with this unit when there is sufficient evidence to support this manufacturing design flaw! They are just putting a band aide on this issue till we fall out of warranty! And now we have to wait over a month to get the parts to fix the issue. This is insane. Our request was for them to replace this defective model and they refused! This company is not about doing the right thing to take care of the customer. Manufacturing design flaw is something they should make right. Avoid purchasing this unit!

    Doesn't work despite many repairs

    I bought this kitchenaid refrigerator about 2 years ago. It has been nothing but a headache. I have taken off so many days of work to have service people come out. I have had to replace the whole freezer door bc of a defect that caused the door to splice wires, the control board, defrost thermistor, evap fan thermistor, ice maker motor. Also, you can supposedly put magnets on this stainless, which I thought was a cool feature, BUT the stainless underneath actually rusted and little holes formed in the metal. So I would not suggest putting any magnets on this even though you reportedly can. Actual holes in the metal. Currently cannot use the refrigerator section despite countless repairs bc it freezes all of my food into ice. I am going to have to spend another couple of thousand dollars to buy a new fridge despite buying this one in March 2017. Biggest waste of money. Also received a notice about a defect with the kitchenaid dishwasher I purchased, so I am waiting for that to fail as well.

    This Fridge is straight trash. PLEASE, I beg you do NOT buy this and waste $3k of your money. We have had to call service 6 times and even well reviewed appliance repair companies have not been able to provide a long term fix. Clearly this is engineered incredibly poorly and there are design flaws that wont allow it to work properly for more than a couple weeks at a time. Kitchenaid should be embarrassed!!! Look at the amount of people who have issues. The fridge side stops. then the freezer size stops. It is a never ending cycle. What a waste of money.

    Worst appliance ever! I had 4 service calls on this refrigerator. The repair technician has replaced every part over the three breakdowns. Unable to identify the root cause, on the forth service call, my TotalTech membership kicked in and I was approved for a replacement refrigerator. However I did not choose KitchenAid for my replacement!

    DO NOT PURCHASE ANY KITCHENAID PRODUCT...this will be the third time we've returned this horrible fridge...numerous problems including cooling/freezing stopped working, ice-maker has stopped working (this has happened twice now - in two different refrigerators.

    The ice maker is very, very loud. Best Buy had to replace this unit and the new one does the same thing. It has lasted four years and have had to have it worked on 4 times before they replaced it. Now the new one is out of warranty and the ice make is broke again.

    Piece of expensive junk. Kitchen aid was a good brand not anymore. There service is awful, the fridge just ices over, the ice maker just stopped working and all conveniently when warranty expires
