I wanted to buy American made appliances and I wish I had gotten over it. My fridge is a little loud. You can hear the motor kick on it only last a few seconds but every hour or so you get to hear this crackling noise coming from the fridge.

This refrigerator came with our new house. Both sides ran about 10 degrees above setting. Several service calls in the first 2 years; finally quits making ice; freezer up to 40 degrees, fridge about 55. KitchenAid says it's out of warranty, but, lucky for us, we can buy a 1-year extended warranty! Woo hoo! Tech comes but has to order parts; lots of owners having the same problem. THREE WEEKS LATER, tech comes back. Compressor, sensors, wiring, and hoses all get replaced. One year and 3 days later (i.e., 3 days after warranty expires), everything gets warm again. No ice. Freezer is at 40; fridge is above 60. Warranty company says tough luck. KitchenAid says tough luck. They should have called this the KitchenAid "Tough Luck" model. Don't buy KitchenAid anything. Lousy product,, lousy service, lousy people. You'll be sorry. Rated 1 star because 0 is not an option.

C'mon KitchenAid... Where has the quality gone?

Noisiest appliance we have had and that's saying a lot when our wine cooler is on its last lap! VERY disappointed in KitchenAid's quality assurance process.... Actually, I don't think it exists. We got this a day after it was offered in Best Buy and have only had it a couple of months: the ice dispenser is always refusing to dispense ice, the control panel is really low functioning despite how high-tech it looks, the ice grate sits at the very bottom of the well making it pointless, and it makes a spectrum of random noise!

We owned a KitchenAid refrigerator for six years and were very pleased with it. Unfortunately, it broke and couldn't be repaired by the Geek Squad, who gave us an exchange in accordance to our policy. We decided to get another KitchenAid refrigerator with a comparable price and features. The quality of the new fridge seemed to be a big step down. It was awfully noisy (I never noticed the prior fridge), the doors weren't aligned well, and it seemed a bit more fragile. We called in service, and they said the noise was typical and suggested we put a rug under it. We returned the fridge and bought a Samsung, which we like very much.
