We were very pleased initially with this dishwasher. We wanted something quiet, so we could run the unit while sitting at the kitchen table, and it is very quiet. The first problem was the flip-up dividers on the silverware rack. They quickly warped and popped out of the rack and do not stay in place. Now the plastic posts that hold the wheels on the upper rack are breaking after only 15 months of use. This makes the upper rack fall out. KitchenAid has a 5 year warranty on the racks, but they say this is for the rack only, not anything that attaches to the rack, like the roller assembly. They want me to buy $50 in replacement parts that will probably break again in another 15 months. I am not happy that they will not stand behind their product, but instead hide behind technicalities.

This dishwasher exceeds my expectations. It has an especially large capacity, and with the adjustable upper shelf I can load my largest dishes..... no more washing the large dishes by hand. In addition, it is whisper quiet and cleans superbly.

I love the dishwasher, however the installation process was difficult at best. We purchased a floor model, which we inspected w/ the salesperson and it was flawless. On the day of installation, the installation company informed us it was missing the drain hose. The hose was still on the floor of the local Best Buy and didn't get included, so they had to reschedule. The 2nd install date, it turned out the dishwasher had been left on the previous truck. When it finally was installed, there was a pretty large dent in the bottom - likely because they transported it with no padding.

It looks and works like the top end dishwashers, but at a fraction of the price. Would recomend it.

So far, I can't complain about the dishwasher. It is far quieter than our previous one (also a KitchenAid...lasted 11 years). The only caution I would offer is that the front buttons are sensitive. I've brushed up against them and started a cycle unintentionally. Dishes are clean when the cycle is over...my wife hasn't mentioned any problems. Installers were a riot...they were quick and very friendly.

I ordered this dishwasher from the new Best Buy near my house and it is great. I selected this model because I wanted to get the EQ package, which is very quiet. The specs on the website are a little off because it uses a filter and doesn't have a food disposer in it. It is super quiet. My family didn't even know it was running when they first saw it. At its loudest it sounds like a quiet indoor waterfall (no loud motor noises). Plus the dishes come out clean and sanitized every time.

This is the best dishwasher I have had. It has several wash settings and my dishes come out very clean. It is so quiet that you are not sure it is even running. As far as brushing against the controls, yes they are sensitive, but all you have to do is press the control lock button and you won't accidentally start the dishwasher.

This has been a great addition to the kitchen. It's quiet, and gets the job done and done well. I has some great options like a lower filtration system, and adjustable racks.

Wish I'd read more reviews before I bought this - would've bought the model with concealed controls. I thought the handle on the other model would get in the way, but the controls on this model are so sensitve that if you don't keep them 'locked' at all times, you find the dishwasher 'starting on its own' because you leaned (barely) against it.

    Overpriced

Went from an older Maytag to this one. The racks are cheap and no where near as well thought out as our old Maytag. Drying agent is a must. It seems to require a higher than ormal wash setting to clean as well as our old one. For paying twice as much as our old one, we seem to get a much lesser machine.

Have had this machine two years and had it serviced at least four times. I've lost count. The plasic wheels holding the upper rack in have broken twice. It just stops draining for no apparent reason and have had it serviced twice for that. If you bump against it, it will start up -- or shut itself off. So you have to keep the panel locked at all times. Now it has broken again - this time it is the draining problem again. I hate this machine and wish I'd never bought it. And it cost a fortune too. Will never buy another KitchenAid product!

I will say that the best quality is how quiet it is. Otherwise, it's about the same as any other DW I've had over the past 35 years.

Detergent dispenser can only partially open

We have purchased this model for the benefit of the upper rack has upper and lower positions. When the upper rack is in the lower position, the dispenser lid can only be opened slightly, as it is hindered by the rack. We found this out when the dispenser and the lid had detergent still on it after using the machine for a complete wash cycle. We had to re-run the dish washer again without using the detergent after we manually cleaned the residue found on the dispenser and let the lid fully opened to make sure all detergent residue were one hundred percent washed off. When the upper rack is in the upper position, the lid can not be fully opened either, it opens about 90 degrees. We called Kitchen Aid and they sent the technician here and said that is supposed to be as it is how it is designed. By the way, the technician has verified that we did use Kitchen Aid recommended dishwasher detergent. Therefore, we do not suggest to buy this model and other similar design dishwashers.
