I bought this KitchenAid dishwasher on 10-26-2009 after the KitchenAid I had for 20 years finally stopped cleaning. I figured with a run like that, if I can find a decent price for another KitchenAId, I'd give it a shot. After looking at Consumer Reports and comparing prices (including delivery and installation) and looking at other brands like Sear's Kenmore, Best Buy won out for me. Sears wanted to charge me a minimum of $235 just for installation - what were they thinking? I did not actually walk into a Lowes, but the online price was more than Best Buy - plus I have a rewardzone card - cash back? Sounds good to me. I was not disappointed. The online price at Best Buy was about $10-20 cheaper than in the store, but they matched their online ad AND I got free delivery and installation. Since I already researched the product I don't know how much the sales guy knew about it, we didn't spend a lot of time talking about the details. I've heard horror stories about the cost of replacement parts, so I did buy the 5-year warrenty - even though I never had to fix one thing on my original KitchenAId - I hope this one is the same. Now to the cleaning - it is great!! I was an old-fashioned dishwasher person - never put pots and pans in it (why waste the space?). But, with the new one, I had to test it out. My 9x13 casserole-caked pan came out extremely clean using the pro-scrub. I was very impressed. Everything has been great. I have no problem putting pots and pans in this dishwasher. It does a better job than I can do by hand, and I am sure it uses less water in the long run. It is very quiet. I've only had the dishwasher for a little over a month, but as of today, I highly recommend it. I think the price is really good for the quality of the dishwasher. I expect no problems getting my moneys worth. The ONLY I have noticed is some spots on some dishes - thus the 4 for performance - maybe if I opened the manual it'd tell me how to get rid of those :-)

Replaced a 9 year old Maytag model that worked, but the rack was losing spacers and rusting . The new one is extremely quiet compared to the old one. I personally like the controls on the outside to see what part of the cycle it is on as opposed to the top of the door. The only delay start is 4 hours. Some people would like a 2 or 6 choice, but it wasn't a concern for us. I wish the spacing on the racks was wider in some spots. We have larger cereal bowls and they don't stand straight up compared to our old unit. I also wish the silverware rack wasn't as big as it is. Some people might enjoy it, but I find it taking up more space than we need. We also had some plastic measuring spoons melt while in the silverware rack on the bottom, so be aware of that. Overall, the unit is quiet, nice looking, and cleans great. It's our first time owning stainless steel on the outside.Just a cleaning tip, we were told to clean with the grain of the stainless to avoid scratching.

We bought this model to replace the circa 1996 Kitchenaid dishwasher that was still working but didn't cosmetically fit in our kitchen remodel. I weighed the options of some of the higher price models and just couldn't justify spending another $400.00 for the higher end model. This washer is very quiet compared to our old one and its cleaning capability is a quantum leap forward. It has a 4 hour delay but I would like to have seen a 2, 4, 6 hour delay. But really, this thing is so quiet that you can run it and still not be disturbed while watching TV. I personally don't care for the models with the big handle on the front - when you stand next to the counter the handle pokes you in the waist. My sister-in-law bought the higher end model for $1200.00 and I'm not sure it cleans any better or is quieter than our $700.00 model. You'll also use a LOT less soap and less water. It's a great machine and a nice value for the money with the reliability of Kithchenaid.

I have had this dishwasher for a couple of weeks now and have to say that so far we are loving it. I do a lot of research before making purchases and did so for this as well. This dishwasher had the most options with a stainless steel tub of any of the others I found, for a desent price. This seems quality made, not cheap like some. It is actually made by Whirlpool, who now owns KitchenAid, so it is made in the USA. It is very quiet when running. It dries the dishes very well with the rinse aid used. I have had no problems at all with it so far. This is the dishwasher for you if you are looking for the most bang for your buck. You can stop your research now, buy this dishwasher.....

I have had this dishwasher for a little over a year. It has worked great until April of this year. I had a simple light go out, and now it is a repair nightmare. They have replaced the control and main board twice. Now the appliance is still not working. Shuts on and off intermittently. Should have it repaired or replaced soon. It is great when it works!

thought I got a good deal and was told whirlpool/kitchenaid was a good brand. times have changed I guess. It's mostly stainless steel, but must be foil thin because the hold thing bends, including the door very easily. I am not impressed with the wash. My old GE did a better job and we have resorted to using the highest price detergent and longest wash cycle to get clean dishes.

This dishwasher is so quiet and the dishes come out really clean. I have used most of the features. Not the 4 hour delay yet because I can run it and hear the TV, etc. Only reason to use 4 hour delay would be to run it when rates are cheaper. Very happy with my purchase

This replaced a 12 year old dishwasher - the difference in quiet and cleaning is amazing - would definitely recommend Only little issue is that sometimes if you do not use the scrub or sanitize cycle the glasses come out with a little haze

This is a quality product. The choices in cycles is excellent. It is extremely quiet. Blue lights when operating are cool. Stainless tub is top notch. Long larger silverware baskets. Lots of jets.

Try other brand at a store and you will find this dishwasher is built better than others. We found the cleaning quality to be great. You should use a good detergent on all dishwashers.

It's quiet, holds a lot and does a great job, even on dishes that haven't been rinsed. Its appearance is sleek and unobtrusive. What's not to like?

door does not shut to well, it hits the tub so you kinda need to push the door to the left and in at the same time.
