    So far so good!

I will preface this review by saying that I have only had this fridge for 2 weeks so take from this as you will. This fridge is absolutely beautiful from the interior lighting of the fridge to the pole-like handles on the outside. The display panel is easy to use and understand and offers nice features such as "measured fill" and "vacation mode". The interior of the fridge has more space and lighting than I know what to do with and having the ice maker in the door keeps you from losing half of your top shelf and just adds to the beauty of the inside. Nothing is perfect, though, and this fridge is no exception. The fruit and vegetable drawers do seem a bit flimsy and they don't close with the conviction that I would like them to close. When I open the drawers it is very easy to shake them left and right which doesn't give me too much confidence in their production (it's hard to show this in pictures but I tried by swinging the drawers to the inside). When I close the drawers I have to make sure that they are closed because I always feel like they aren't closed. It's just something that I am finding to be very annoying. There are also these clear stickers that come on the "chrome" part of the drawers that you have to remove when you first get the fridge. The issue here is that there are black markings on the stickers that leave a residue on the drawers after removing the stickers (see pictures). The residue is very difficult to remove and I feel like I am scratching the shiny part which makes it noticeable. That's something I was very upset about. The freezer section has a lot of storage space as well but it could use more lighting. There is considerably more lighting in the fridge section than there is in the freezer section. All-in-all this fridge is off to a good start, minus some minor flaws, but it is still early so I will hold my breath on a final conclusion.

We purchased this particular model to replace our 20 year old KitchenAid (it was was time) mostly because it was another KitchenAid and it was the largest one that would fit in our space. We've had it a couple weeks now, and I can't say we love it or hate it. In other words, it's a refrigerator. Some observations - 1. The print-shield stainless is effective. Doesn't show prints or smudges much. It's also magnetic, for all those proud parents looking to hang kid stuff on the fridge. 2. The warning chime when the door is left ajar is nice. It's saved me any number of times. What would be even nicer however is if the door closed more naturally and easily, and didn't keep getting left ajar. It's a warning beep to cover up for the poor design. 3. It's noisier than our prior 20 year old KitchenAid. I mean it's not a garage band or anything, but the noise is definitely more noticeable than our old model. 4. General design is nice. Have never had the freezer on the bottom before, and I like it. 5. The meat-cheese drawer goes all the way across. Meaning you have to open both exterior doors to use it. The point to having two doors is to only open the one you need. To get in this drawer, that means opening both. The drawer should have been split in half. Again, another minor design flaw we didn't notice or think about in the store, but notice now. 6. Ice maker fully contained in the door is nice. It's pretty out of the way, doesn't take up much space. It's also pretty high volume. This is done right. 7. It's pretty and goes with our kitchen well. In summary...... this is a refrigerator. I don't love it, I don't hate it. Some things are done well, some are not. But at the end of the day, it keeps the food cold.

I purchased the KitchenAid - 27 Cu. Ft. French Door Refrigerator - Printshield Stainless Steel and love a lot of its features. The prinshield front is beautiful and does not show fingerprints. Easy to clean. The refrigerator drawers are positioned to hold a lot of food including 9x13 inch pans. The long pull out tray can hold a 20x12 inch pan plus other containers. The doors hold six open drawers that hold many food items like your condiments and milk. I love to cook so I need a refrigerator to hold a lot of food and this was my best choice! The LED lighting is bright throughout the fridge and freezer. The freezer is bigger than my last side-by-side fridge. I love the separators on the two pull out freezer drawers. You can easily see all your food. The water dispenser displays and automatically dispenses water in ounces, cups or liter. Overall there are a lot of nice features to organize and see your food.

so far so good, but it has only been a couple weeks. I am hoping for the same kitchenaid quality as fridges past. Loving the solid handles. Gallon door bins are great for milk but I do wish they’d thought to put in more narrower ones somewhere so condiments don’t roll around or tip over. This is my second kitchenaid French door fridge and actually ended up costing less than the one I bought in 1990 when the style was brand new. Love the bottom freezer and the full width refrigerator drawer and pull out shelf. I wasn’t sure I would, but I use the slide away split shelf all the time. The fridge makes a soft noise like a chicken pecking at the screen door which the manual says is normal. Also, there is a muffled sound after each time I open and close the door that sounds like I am pocket dialing someone. First few times I had to check my phone! But I’m used to it now and everything seems to be working as it should do it’s not a big deal. Overall very pleased with this open box deal I scored.

I have given this refrigerator an excellent rating. It is a huge upgrade over our previous unit. The refrigerator works flawlessly and we got Best Buy’s financing for no interest for 24 months. The delivery men/installers were very friendly and quick. They removed the old refrigerator and cleaned up the boxes. Lots of room and lots of ice -this unit is darn near perfect.

Large refrigerator section with dedicated seaters for meats, cheese and vegetables make it easy to organize food. Bottom freezer has pull out shelf making storage and accessibility easy. Stainless steel refrigerator has a sleek outward appearance. Water and ice are easy to use with multiple choices. Extremely happy with project and delivery.

Has the frig for 3 weeks now. Ice maker is smaller than our previous frig and we use the water and ice a lot. Bottom guard that sits inside the bottom of cup placement for ice and water doesn’t fit properly. So it just lays on top doesn’t pop in.

Much needed upgrade from an old french door Fridge and Freezer setup. The BestBuy moving / install team did a fantastic job removing doors to remove my existing fridge and also move in my new fridge. This refrigerator has a huge fridge section and an appropriate freezer section below. We are a big organic / produce family and the many compartments and fridge section serve us well. The water dispenser also has a set ounce (or cup) measured setting which is such a huge perk bonus that I wasn't aware of!! Saves you time filling up large pitchers or even just simply filling your glass up hands free.

This is a perfect refrigerator. It has all the features you want, lighted on the door space for crushed ice or cubes and water, pull out full width shelf and convenient produce, meat & cheese drawers. The French doors with freezer on the bottom provides a large freezer space that is thoughtfully divided. I trust the KitchenAid brand, my previous fridge was 14 + years old and still in perfect working order, when I moved and left it for new owners to enjoy.

Having Issues with the Ice Maker and the Warranty

We purchased the fridge directly from the store and had to pick it up and install it ourselves as well as paying to have our old fridge taken away. It seems odd that I paid the same price as someone that gets free delivery and their old appliance removed for free. Once we had the fridge connected and running we had an issue with the ice maker not getting cold enough and leaking water down the inside of the ice storage door. The support line at KitchenAid was not helpful and I was told we would have to pay a service fee of $125 for a company to come out and look at the fridge. This is a brand new fridge and should have been supported by the manufacture and Best Buy but neither want to take responsibility for the unit now that it has been purchased and installed. I am very disappointed with the entire transaction and the quality of the appliance.

Possibly the most frustrating unpacking experience ever. There were stickers in unreachable places then when I took of the “protective tape from two of the door fronts it left behind all this residue. When I tried to remove the residue it scratched the surface! So now I have a brand new fridge with scratched up drawer fronts. Also overall the fridge feels a bit flimsy for the price. I agree with other reviewers who say door doesn’t close. It’s very lightweight. I will be calling KitchenAid customer service to see if they resolve my issue and will update the review but so far I am unimpressed.

This fridge is the most fun and most useful. Our power went out and the unit automatically cools 18 degrees lower so whatever you have in there, won't spoil. Also, great ice cubes, nice velocity of ice and water coming out and plenty of storage and lighting.

It replaced our Samsung 4 door unit that had terrible freezing problems that stopped the cooling system and ice maker function. This unit cools fine but the water dispenser design is very poor. It's slow, loud & requires a great deal of pressure to activate. Door design causes left door to slam into right door exterior which will result in visible damage. Just got it and it already needs a service call
