This cooktop replaced our old KitchenAid gas cooktop (20+ years old). We wanted a gas on glass cooktop and there are not a lot to chose from. Looked at a lot of local and online dealers and Best Buy had the stove we wanted that others did not. Size was a little different than the stove we replaced, but we were able to make it work. The stove has some power to it! The main burner can quickly bring a pot to boil or stir fry with ease. Working well so far and it is easy to keep clean. It is really a good looking cooktop. Black glass with some chrome accents on knobs. The grates are heavy duty. We went with the four-burner because the five-burner in this size seemed a bit cramped. The plus side is that there is an open area of grate in the back that is perfect for resting a hot pan. It is replacing an old KitchenAid gas on glass cooktop, hope it will last as long as the last one did!

The previously ordered one had five burners instead of four and was stainless steel instead of black glass but I have decided that I prefer this one anyway. I think it looks better and is probably easier to clean and I don't really need five burners. (The one we replaced only had four burners and one of them hadn't worked for many years.) I especially like the looks of the large, shiny silver knobs on the black background. Most of the other appliances we have gotten recently are also Kitchen Aid so that was a big plus too.

All newer cook-tops have the larger "grates" that cover the entire cook-top. It took some time to get used to the new look. In addition, the controls operate differently which is also taking time to get used to.

The easy to clean white glass matches the rest of our white appliances very close. The gray grates are a nice touch. The knobs are shiny with a gray brand. Hope to get longevity in this cooktop as I expect in KitchenAid appliances.
