The oven looks beautiful and updates the kitchen. It was purchased to replace an old combo oven. The cutout requirements were just a bit smaller than my original so some carpentry was required for the fit. So far everything seems to work great, however, there are a lot more features yet to learn. I love the blue oven interior as well as the 3 racks and bright oven lights, and you can choose convection or regular cooking. It is even able to convert your recipes to convection cooking automatically. The fan in the oven is not unreasonably loud as some reviewers have posted. If you are running both the top and bottom units at the same time, it is louder as there are 2 fans running. However, even this is no louder than my old oven. The microwave has an easy to clean metal interior with a drop down heating element (for easy cleaning of the ceiling) that's used for convection/crisper features. It has many options for cooking and heating so your food will come out perfectly after you've learned how to use it. It comes with several useful accessories: Temperature probe for the lower oven, crisper pan with detachable handle, baking tray and steamer unit for the microwave. So now my reason for 4 stars instead of 5 stars: The microwave has a drop down door. It looks beautiful but is very impractical. The door does not open 90 degrees which makes it even more difficult to reach in. I can barely reach in to get the hot dishes safely and I cannot reach into the microwave for cleaning without a step stool (and still can't reach the back wall with the step stool. I am 5' 3.5"). When using the convection feature for the microwave, the inside oven door around the window gets hot, so to reach in for the dish, the underside of my arms would get burnt. This unit was fit into an existing space with everything at the same height as my old unit, which I had no problem reaching into and cleaning without a step stool. Perhaps if it was able to be lowered a little, it might not be quite as much of a problem, but I still would not be able to reach the back wall because of the drop-down door.

    High price, low quality

Premium priced, but very low quality appliances. Knowing what I know now, I would NEVER buy another Kitchenaid appliance. We purchased a stainless steel wall oven and microwave combination for a new house that was finished in August 2017. Model number is KOCE500ESS05. The oven does NOT HOLD the temperature. This has been reported hundreds (possibly thousands) of times on the internet. The company has NOT FIXED a known issue with the oven. Now, we have a unit that we purchased for thousands of dollars that is a little over a year old that will need hundreds of dollars in repairs. Kitchenaid is NOT what it used to be. When I called to report the problem, it was answered by Whirlpool. I should note that I also purchased a very expensive Maytag washing machine for my house which also has major problems. Stay away from KitchenAid, Maytag, and Whirlpool. You will pay a premium price for substandard appliances.

This was newly installed in my remodeled kitchen and it's very smart looking. I have to admit, I've only used the microwave so far. I like the glide rack in the oven and wish all the racks were like that, the other 2 are a little stiff. I've already removed 1 of the 3 racks. The unit came with a temperature probe, a crisper for micro and a steamer bowl. I think I will cook a whole chicken before Thanksgiving as I'm a little nervous making Thanksgiving dinner in a new oven. It's large inside. I love the color. At first I didn't care for the stainless steel bar handles but they really make it look like a professional oven.

Loving it so far! Years ago when I purchased my last built in unit, I was wishing to find a "microwave"/"convection" upper, and regular oven/with convection option lower, unfortunately they weren't made then. So you can imagine my surprise when it faulted and I came across this beauty. Now I can have the speed of convection on top, but also still have a microwave, and it's a Kitchen Aid! I love that I can be baking in the oven, and my kitchen does not heat up, this unit really self contains the heat. It baked a lovely Thanksgiving Turkey! There are only two negatives I can think of. 1. My husband think the microwave is a little shorter in height than our old one. 2. The touch pad is extremely sensitive. ...but is that really a negative?

Microwave door sensor went bad after a few months

Microwave wouldn't turn on, claiming the door is open, even though it was closed. Repairman showed up, but wasn't able to fix the issue because the entire 500-pound unit had to be removed from the cabinet to access the small sensor mounted at the front. As far as why the designers thought this was a good idea is beyond me. Marketing dept. at Whirlpool obviously doesn't care about post-purchase serviceability. To this day we're waiting for two repairmen to show up with harnesses in order to remove the 500-lb unit from the cabinetry and replace the door sensor. Absurd for a $4000 appliance (what we paid at the time).

Bought to replace a fifteen-year-old KitchenAid combination microwave and oven of the same size, this model exceeds its predecessor in ease of operation, usefulness of features, brightness of the display panel, and appealing design. The microwave comes with accessories that make it more versatile than simply heating frozen or leftover foods. The full-extension, easy glide rack in the oven reduces the chances of burns or spills. The heat is even, although the actual temperature seems to be a bit lower than the temperature set. Even though it fits in the same space, the new oven seems to be a bit deeper; cookie sheets fit in the oven more easily. Overall, it looks good and works well.

I've used this oven for a few days and am not in love with it, but I may need some time to adjust. My major complaint is the microwave is very noisy. The fan is awfully loud. It also doesn't seem to be powerful. If the suggested cooking time is 20-30 seconds, I have to do 40 seconds. Also, it automatically reduces the temperature that you set it at to adjust for convection cooking. I've found it doesn't adjust well. If I set the convection for 400, I want it to cook at 400, not decide for me that it will cook at 375...since it's wrong. The oven is super quiet, but I've notice food doesn't brown like it did In my last oven. I cooked chicken that was done but the chicken looked boiled after I baked it. Then I made a casserole, and again nothing was browned when it was done.

We absolutely love this oven/microwave combo. - allowed us to do a double-oven AND have a ceiling-height range hood - the oven is truly great. As an example, it makes the best french fries out of any oven we've owned - they're perfectly crispy in a way you only get from restaurants. - the microwave is such high quality, and the oven style pull-down microwave door is makes it feel very expensive The bottom line, this got us a microwave, double oven & convection-oven/toaster-oven all in one package. Would hands-down purchase again.

Product was delivered on time as promised. Very satisfied with product. Replaced exact same model after 13 years. Only complaint about new product is the microwave fan remains on even after the cooking is finished, until the door is opened. Therefore often you don't realize the cooking is finished without looking at the timer. But easy to get used to. Otherwise has convection cooking for both ovens. And can use the microwave as a standard oven as well. We were able to get a matched sale price with additional points from Best Buy credit card. Very satisfied for the price.

This was purchased to replace my 30 year old oven which still worked but had seen better days. Thi s an oven /microwave oven combination. It really is a very nice looking unit. Still getting use to all the different functions. The oven does seem to take a little time to warm up and I think it's not calibrated properly. Inside the oven is blue which is very nice. The micro wave is stainless steel which I prefer. I wish the microwave door was not a drop down door but I guess with this set up that is the only option. All in all I am very happy with this purchase.

I have not used all the features of this unit as we have had it for less than one month. The times I have used either the oven or the microwave I was impressed with the ease of use and the end results. Although it takes a little longer to preheat I believe this is intermixed with the convection features of this oven. The oven also does not heat up my entire kitchen whenever I use it which is something I really love and will definitely appreciate as warmer weather approaches. This unit is also a beutiful product with sleek lines which look good in my kitchen

Had oven/micro combo installed. Using the microwave sounded like a jet engine so we called whirlpool (parent company) for warranty help. They asked if the item was a floor sample because it was from 2016. I said that I had purchased from Best Buy a week or so earlier (2/2019). I was going to have to jump through hoops for service. Called Best buy and they are bringing another one out but gave no assurances that I won't be as old as the other.

So far we have had this unit for about 60 days, and we like it. It is very quiet unit, you almost cannot tell it is running. It seems a bit slow to come up to temperature but that is very subjective. It DOES take an extremely long time to cool down after use, but that is also a sign of great insulation. Some of the timer features are complicated to use, and could be so much simpler. We wish you could select tones for the timer. the only sound is very annoying. Overall a very good unit, at the sale price, it was a great value.

We went from a single oven that had temperature issues to in essences a double oven as the microwave is also a convection oven. When using the oven portion strictly as an oven the cook time and or temperature seem off but that could be because I'm using a working oven and this is how it's supposed to be. All in all I am very pleased with the appliance. The only reason I gave it a 4 is the timers are a little bit confusing when trying use them. It was put to good use over the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Purchased this shortly before I put my house up for sale. I wish I could have brought it with me because it is the most excellent oven/convect oven/micro I have ever had. Love that you can switch the top from microwave to convection oven in seconds. Very quite cooking, and practically any heat is felt around the door when the oven is in use because it is so well insulated.

If I did not have Kitchen Aid everything in the kitchen, I may have looked at other brands but since I needed to keep everything matching, I had no choice but to go with this one. It is ridiculous that they even make combo microwave and oven units since most of the time the microwave is the one that breaks but you need to replace both units and spend thousands of dollars. Feels good spending thousands on a broken microwave. I only recommend it because we really have no choice.

We had this same model that we purchased 9 years ago that was a lemon! I was skeptical of getting the same make and model, but this one is terrific! The oven heats up fairly fast unlike our old one. The microwave convection is great! I would use the microwave convection over the regular oven all the time if I could. It's smaller so it heats up faster for small items. Time will tell, but I think we got a good one this time.

We had a previous version of this combination convection oven and multi-function microwave. Kitchen Aid has made significant enhancements with this new model. The keypad is easier to use and it does not require a set procedure to input the time and power setting on the microwave. My wife really likes the new blue porcelain coating on the oven. Visually the unit has a very professional look that enhances our kitchen.

We purchased this 30" over to replace our 27" oven. I thought we'd be stuck with a 27" inch, but I measured the cabinet size and realized a 30" would fit! The oven installed very easily. Two people are ideal for installation because it is very heavy and quite awkward to lift. It looks GREAT and works perfectly well.

Replaced my double oven with this to free up counter space. Had to close up the original cut out so this would fit. The oven is great. Very quiet compared to the last. Microwave could be more powerful, but thats the only non-issue. Really great product so far. Very happy with it and am looking forward to upgrading the rest of the appliances to the same.
